"The consignment is delivered."

The message I’ve been waiting for all day finally pops up. I rise from my desk, anticipation buzzing through me. It’s time. But as I head toward my bedroom, my eyes land on Yiren, sitting at the dining table, deeply engrossed in her work with the VR gear strapped to her head.

For a moment, I just... pause. My gaze lingers on her, completely captivated. She’s lost in her world, working diligently, her hands moving in sync with whatever is running on her laptop. Her passion for what she does is obvious. She has this light about her—something that draws you in, that could ignite everyone around her without even trying.

VR, huh? I never thought much of it before, but hearing about it from her and doing some research it has me thinking. Could this be the answer to my biggest problem? VR could help me create a prototype of my car, giving me a detailed look at every part for better development and visualization.

The problem? I have zero knowledge about VR, and I don’t have the luxury of dedicating a year to learning it. I can’t hire a professional either—this project is too secretive. No one outside my circle can know.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Yiren’s voice snaps me out of my thoughts. She’s bobbing her head, completely absorbed in the VR simulation. I can’t help but smirk. Fascinating. I leave her in her dreamland, heading toward mine.

With a touch of my finger on the control panel, the glass wall in my room slides down, revealing my prized possessions: three sleek, black beasts. I walk past them and into the hidden garage, where something even more precious awaits.

The wooden crates stand neatly in rows—twenty-three boxes. My breath catches as I take it all in. My car, in pieces, has finally arrived. Huo steps forward, holding the file. "Sir, do you need help unboxing them?"

I shake my head. "No. I’ll do it. You can leave."

With a nod, Huo departs, leaving me alone with my thoughts and the giant boxes. Each one contains a part of the masterpiece I’ve been working on, transported in pieces in a different plane to keep it hidden from prying eyes—especially Chris, the owner of Xtreme Auto.

Yeah, that Chris. The one Yiren used to date. He’s been eyeing Darryl’s company just like me. But lately trying to gather intel about what I’m doing to get it. No one, especially Chris, is getting their hands on it.

I take a deep breath, running my fingers along the first crate. It’s time to reassemble it.

I roll up my sleeves, ready to get to work. This is going to be a long night. But before I start, I grab my phone and shoot Yiren a message. "Work calling. Sleep. Don’t wait for me. Goodnight."

I’m not sure why I feel the need to inform her, but something compels me. Maybe it’ll help ease her nerves about sharing the same bed. And... maybe mine too.

I let out my hundredth yawn, eyes burning from staring at the car parts in front of me. I’ve been at this for hours, but I’m barely halfway through. No way I’m finishing this tonight. Reluctantly, I decide to pack up, wipe the grease from my hands, and head to the shower to wash off the stains.

When I step back into the bedroom, it’s almost 3 a.m. The bed is... empty. Where’s Yiren? I thought she’d be asleep by now. Confused, I check the dining room.

There she is—slumped over her makeshift desk, fast asleep in the middle of her work. I can’t help but smile at the sight. Typical Yiren.

I slip off my slippers, careful not to make any noise as I approach. "Hey, Yiren," I whisper softly, brushing a finger against her cheek. She doesn’t stir. Her breathing is slow and steady. She’s deep asleep, and she looks so peaceful... almost angelic. Totally deceptive, I remind myself, thinking of her crazy collection of... well, toys.

"Mad girl," I chuckle quietly to myself, pinching her cheek gently. She responds by turning her face to the other side, pouting in her sleep like an adorable little kid. How can someone look so sweet and so deadly at the same time?

Still, no sign of her waking up. I walk around to the other side of the table, tickling a strand of her hair in her ear. "Hey, Lady Don... wakey wakey."

She slaps at her ear, still deep in dreamland. Unbelievable. I trace my finger down the bridge of her nose, over her soft lips, and along the curve of her chin. God must’ve been in a good mood when he made this face.

"Ah well... you’re going to scream at me for this," I mutter. Slowly, I slip one arm under her neck and the other around her thighs, carefully lifting her into my arms. She lets out a soft moan, and I freeze, waiting for the inevitable outburst. But instead, she snuggles into me, nuzzling her nose into the crook of my neck.

"Mmm... you smell so good," she murmurs sleepily.

Holy shit.

My entire body tenses as blood rushes south. Not now. Please, not now. I hurry to the bed, laying her down as gently as possible before tucking her in. Once she’s settled, I quickly pull off my shirt and slide into my side of the bed, hoping to cool down the tension brewing inside me.

But not even five minutes pass before silky blanket rustles as she rolls over, throws her leg over me, and snuggles up to me like I’m her personal body pillow. Great. Her scent, sweet and intoxicating, fills my senses. She’s so close. Too close.

Oh my god!

So much for self-control.

She’s warm, soft, and practically wrapped around me. And remind you, without a bra so literally pressing her soft breast on me. My heart races as she nuzzles even closer.

In the silene of the night, I hear her soft breaths on my naked chest.....

Well....

This is going to be a torturous night.

And she’s going to test my patience...
