"That’s Jianyu and MeiMei’s house," Jun says, pulling me out of my daydream as he points toward the window.

I glance over, and my jaw just about hits the floor. Of course. It’s the kind of house that makes you want to drop to your knees and cry at its sheer perfection. Sleek, modern, with this ridiculously elegant design that blends into the mountain like the landscape was begging for it to exist. This place isn’t just gorgeous—it’s beyond gorgeous.

Maybe one day, I’ll get to see it from the inside. My inner architect is practically drooling at the idea. This thing was designed by the gods of the industry, and I could learn more just by stepping inside than in a whole semester of design school.

Ten minutes later, Jun points to another plot of land, this one framed by dense forests, with a half-built structure sitting by the lake. "And that’s where Shishi’s house will be. Designed by you."

My heart skips a beat. Designed by me. Hearing him say that sends a thrill through me, but the excitement fades as soon as I take in the incomplete house. There’s so much work to do before this thing can meet Shishi and Suyin’s standards. Pressure? Oh, it’s here. In full force.

I gulp, silently praying to the architecture gods. Don’t let me screw this up.

We drive another fifteen minutes, and I’m still reeling from the fact that Jun thinks I’m capable of designing a house for Shishi of all people. But then the car stops, and I look up at... well, something.

It’s sleek. It’s modern. Black stone. Very understated.

"That’s your house?" I blurt out, confused. Even Bear groans beside me, looking at Jun in question.

I mean, it’s nice. Don’t get me wrong. But where are the gold-plated fountains? The multistory mansion? The giant, obnoxious swimming pool that all billionaires are contractually obligated to have? I was expecting something... well, more.

Jun smirks, picking Bear and rubbing his head to cheer the little guy who was sulking, "Disappointed?"

I blink, trying to process. "No, not disappointed. Just... surprised."

"Why? Did you think I lived in a castle and had a staff of a hundred people running around?" He tilts his head, still smirking.

"Well, maybe not a castle," I admit, waving a hand toward the minimalist exterior in black. "But I expected something a little more obvious. You know, for a guy who’s filthy rich. I thought there’d at least be an indoor waterfall."

Jun laughs softly, and it’s so smooth it almost makes me forget how smug he’s being. "Sorry to disappoint, Rabbit. No indoor waterfall."

"Are you sure we’re at the right place?"

But as we step inside, I immediately take it back. The interior? Now this is where the magic happens. We’re talking floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings, sleek lines, and views that stretch across the forest and the vast landscape like something out of a painting. Oh, and a racing track casually weaving through the landscape outside. Of course.

It’s not loud. It’s not gold-plated. But it’s... perfect.

And honestly? It suits him. Jun might come off as flashy, but deep down, he’s all about that quiet confidence. No need for showy gold pillars or elaborate fountains when you can just own the entire vibe.

Bear wiggled out of Jun’s arms and ran to the window, already plotting in his little head. Jun lets him free on the huge landscape and Bear sprint at the speed that can challenge any Olympic record, rolling on the grass, barking at the air, and jumping!

Jun saunters past me with that signature casual swagger of his, hands in his pockets. "Welcome to Nightfall," he says, his voice low and smooth.

"Nightfall?" I echo, still trying to process all of this. Of course, his house would have a name, and of course, it’d be something dramatic and mysterious like Nightfall. "Is it because the house belongs to the Satan in suit?"

Jun leans in slightly. "I like the darkness."

Of course, you do.

Maybe that’s why the entire house is black. It’s a little overkill, but hey, what do I know? Apparently, "dark and brooding" is a lifestyle.

We’re greeted by a middle-aged couple, and Jun introduces them as if it’s totally normal to have a personal cook and house manager on staff. "That’s Huo, my personal cook, and his wife, Rui. She manages the house. If you need anything, ask Rui."

I smile politely at them, but inside I’m already spiraling. Now what? Am I supposed to keep up this whole fake girlfriend act in front of the staff too? It was easier back in the States when he didn’t have 24/7 house help.

I glance at Jun, wiggling my eyebrows in silent question. He just tilts his head, either not understanding or pretending not to.

I wiggle my brows more dramatically, hoping he gets the hint. He glances at a random giant framed painting—honestly, what is that?—and casually says, "You know, I don’t forbid people from talking."

Ugh. This man.

With an awkward smile plastered on my face, I move closer to him, sliding a hand onto his chest and wrapping my other arm around his. "Your house is beautiful, darling... babe... sweetiepie?" I cringe at the word the second it leaves my mouth.

Everyone stares at me like I’ve just declared I’m new out of mental asylum. Even Jun looks slightly amused, an eyebrow raised in disbelief.

Not backing down, I widen my smile. "Won’t you show me our bedroom, Pookie bear?"

Jun’s brow perks up, clearly loving this. "Sure... sweetcheeks."

He leads me upstairs to his bedroom, and I feel a strange tingle in my stomach. His room is... unexpected. Minimalist, sure, but classy in a way that screams, money quietly spent. But one thing stands out immediately: his love for cars.

Above the bed is a massive framed LEGO Ferrari in black, meticulously assembled. I blink. Okay, I did not see that coming. But... impressive. Nice idea! I might copy.

But that’s not even the craziest part. I gasp when I notice the glass wall on the other side of the room.

The three most beautiful black sports cars I’ve ever seen. All lined up in a private display, pristine and gleaming under soft lighting. Like a museum exhibit. I can practically hear my brain screaming cha-ching just looking at them.

"This... this is where you sleep?" I stammer, still staring in disbelief.

Jun flops down on the bed like it’s no big deal. "This is where we will sleep."

"We?" I ask, blinking.

"We," he repeats, his smirk deepening. "You and me."

"That’s a joke."

"Nope."
