Her hand rose to her chest out of instinct, her fingers pressing firmly against the place where the pressure settled. The sensation wasn’t new anymore, and it didn’t catch her off guard the way it had before, but it carried more weight now, more certainty. It didn’t feel like something searching for her. "Kael," she said, her voice steady despite the force moving through her.

"I need you," it said.

Ariana exhaled slowly, grounding herself before she answered. "You’re not getting me," she said, her tone calm but unyielding.

"I’m not going to him for it," she said.
