Shaun Quinn stopped and turned his head to look coldly at Isaac Yates. "What is it?"

"Is that any way to talk to your elders?"

"What more do you want? I’m already doing you a huge favor by even setting foot in this house again."

"Could you two please let go of me first?" Wren Wynter said, looking from Kaden Xavier to Shaun Quinn.

Kaden Xavier and Shaun Quinn spoke in unison, a rare moment of perfect agreement.

Wren Wynter sighed lightly. "You’re hurting me. Let go!"

Her last two words were tinged with anger, and though they were unwilling, they both let go.

"Kaden Xavier, you should go home."

"Why?" A trace of displeasure crept into Kaden Xavier’s eyes.

Wren Wynter rubbed her sore wrist and said coolly, "This has nothing to do with you. You should go."

Kaden Xavier stared intently at Wren Wynter, his lips pressed into a sharp, thin line, his eyes dimming with disappointment.

After a long moment, he spoke.

"Fine."

He didn’t want to make things difficult for her.
