"That’s enough." Kaden’s gaze darkened, his voice tinged with a chilling cold. "Nathaniel Quinn, get her out of here!"

As he spoke, he shot a glacial look at Miracle Doctor Wallace, his expression grim. "If anything happens to my grandmother, I’ll make you pay with your life."

Meeting Kaden’s bloodthirsty, dangerous gaze, Miracle Doctor Wallace was so terrified he could barely speak.

"Doesn’t have much time... how long is that?" Kaden’s voice was hoarse and tight.

"It could be a few months, or it could be a few weeks." Wren fought back the sting in her eyes and answered honestly. "It depends on her body’s ability to recover and the subsequent treatment, but you need to be prepared."

Grace Wynter’s surgery had been a success, and she had been recovering well over the past few days. She was already able to sit up and talk.

Finn Wynter had hired the best private nurse to provide around-the-clock care, and he also made as much time as he could to visit her at the hospital.

"Auntie." Wren pushed the door open, the first genuine smile in days appearing on her face.

"I’m fine." Wren shook her head. "Don’t worry about me, Auntie."

Grace Wynter sighed. "Oh, Wren, I know these past few years haven’t been easy for you. That Kaden Xavier... Never mind, let’s not talk about him. In the future, you must find someone who truly cherishes you and build a happy life. A daughter of the Wynter Family will have no trouble finding a wonderful husband."

Wren just smiled and didn’t reply.

Seraphina Sutton and Nathaniel Quinn watched as Wren entered Grace Wynter’s room.

Nathaniel carefully supported her.

"Dr. Wynter, something’s wrong!" The frantic voice of the on-duty nurse came through the phone. "Your aunt, Ms. Grace Wynter, suddenly went into cardiac arrest! She’s being resuscitated now, you need to get here right away!"

Wren shot to her feet. "What? I’m on my way!"

She grabbed her coat and bolted out the door, not even taking the time to change out of her slippers.

The glaring red light above the resuscitation room door felt like a knife twisting in Wren’s heart.

"Finn!" Wren ran over to him. "How is Auntie?"

Seeing her, Finn Wynter struggled to keep his composure. "Dr. Shaw is in there with her. It’s been half an hour already."

"Finn, don’t worry. With Dr. Shaw here, Auntie is going to be okay," Wren said, trying to soothe him. "How could she suddenly go into cardiac arrest? She was perfectly fine this afternoon..."
