While Neji focused on studying how to destroy the moon, Karin had one goal: to rescue Chinano.

Blue flames flickered to life around her as she locked onto Chinano's chakra signature. She took off at full speed, cutting through the cold air of the moon's interior. Along the way, mechanical puppets sprang out from hidden compartments in the walls, but Karin took them down one by one without slowing her pace. She finally arrived at the place they had split up.

Before her lay an endless pit, dark and hollow—like the moon had been carved out from the inside. Karin didn't hesitate. Without a second thought, she jumped in.

When Chinano regained consciousness, a wave of pain surged through her head. Instinctively, she reached up—only to realize one of her eyes was gone. Her vision was lopsided. Her right eye, once holding the pristine Byakugan, was an empty socket.

She forced her only remaining red eye open and froze in horror.

Suspended in thick glass-like fluid around her were dozens—no, hundreds—of Byakugan. The sheer number was staggering. There were more here than the entire Hyuga Clan could ever account for. Her stomach churned.

Where the hell did all these eyes come from?

She struggled to move when a familiar figure appeared in front of her.

It was him—the same man she saw before blacking out. He stood calmly, only one eye open, and it glowed with eerie power.

That eye... it was hers. She could feel it.

"That's... my eye," Chinano said coldly, her voice steady despite the fear twisting inside her. Her lone red eye gleamed like blood under moonlight.

The man smiled. "Indeed. Let me introduce myself—Otsutsuki Toneri. And you, Chinano... you will become my wife."

He spoke politely, almost kindly, but the fact that he'd ripped her eye out made the sentiment chilling.

Behind him, something glowed faintly. A crystalline blue structure pulsed with a terrifying energy. Chinano feigned curiosity, stretching her limbs slightly.

"Rinnegan?" she said, cocking her head. "So that's what this is—an evolved Byakugan? Why are you on the moon, Toneri?"

Unseen, small mechanical bugs crawled from her sleeve and disappeared into the shadows.

Either Toneri didn't notice, or he didn't care. He started explaining like a man who thought he had already won.

"The Sharingan evolves into the Rinnega. Likewise, the Byakugan also has an ultimate form: the Tenseigan. Its power rivals the Rinnegan. Our ancestors believed in peace, but over time, those voices faded. I am their last legacy—and now, so are you."

His words were heavy, laced with history and twisted ambition. Chinano absorbed the information quietly. She didn't care about his plans—she just knew she wasn't going to be anyone's damn wife.

"Sorry," she said flatly. "I already have plans with my friend."

A blur of red and flame erupted behind Toneri—Karin had arrived, her hair flaring like wildfire. She was bloodied, but her wounds had already healed thanks to her Uzumaki vitality.

Her eyes locked onto Chinano's hollow socket—and the rage that followed was primal.

"You bastard," she hissed. "You took her eye?!"

Karin's chakra exploded around her, red hair whipping wildly, making her look like a wrathful spirit ready to rip someone apart.

Toneri's gaze remained calm. "The fury of mortals... I'll show you the horror of the Tenseigan."

From across the chamber, Karin felt it—the chakra in her body was being drained. An invisible force pulled at her from every direction, threatening to crush her.

But Karin wasn't one to break.

Golden chains burst from her back, crackling with green flames. Instead of lashing outward, the chains stabbed into her own body. Her vitality surged, creating a loop of energy that helped her break free from the pull. With a graceful spin, she landed solidly on the ground.

Chinano wasn't idle either. Her red eye shimmered with something new—something ancient.

She watched closely as blood began to drip from Toneri's eye. But the blood didn't fall to the floor—it floated, forming intricate symbols in the air.

A seal. A very old one.

Toneri's calm expression finally cracked.

"This... this is our ancestral seal," he muttered, stunned. "No... it can't be!"

Panic crept into his voice for the first time. Chinano's red eye had activated a restriction left by the ancestors—likely a contingency against those who strayed from their path.

"All of this was planned..." Toneri laughed bitterly. "Even death won't stop me."

His chakra started surging again.

"If I fall... I'll take the Earth with me!"

Whatever he planned next, no one would hear. Karin acted fast—faster than he could react—and slammed a brutal flying kick into his chest, sending him flying.

At the same time, Chinano's hidden mechanical bugs latched onto Toneri's robe. They sprayed high-pressure water, locking his body in place with freezing hooks.

She approached him slowly.

Toneri's body flickered like fireflies. Truth-seeking orbs surrounded him, generating a powerful repulsion wave—but it didn't affect Chinano at all.

His powers, once overwhelming, seemed to fail completely against her. As if everything he had was being dissolved by her presence.

Rossinante's seal must have been activating through her.

Step by step, she walked toward him.

"What you stole from me..." she said, eyes glowing, "I'm taking back."

She reached out.

Before Toneri could protest, the world darkened again—for him. Her hand clutched her stolen eye, wrenching it from him.

For a man who had tasted light, falling back into darkness was a deeper kind of hell.

Chinano regained her Byakugan, but something felt... off. She staggered slightly, frowning. Beneath her feet, the moon rumbled.

"Something's wrong," she muttered. "The moon... it's moving."

She and Karin didn't wait. They ran, regrouping with Neji as fast as they could.

And then they saw it.

The Earth loomed in the sky, growing larger by the second.

"...It's falling toward Earth," Neji whispered.

No one responded. There was nothing left to say.

Only action.
