"Ah... this is really hard..." Zixu scratched his head. While he could understand the techniques Minato explained, actually applying them caused all sorts of problems.

"You're already doing great. You have a natural talent for the Flying Thunder God (Hiraishin no Jutsu)." Minato smiled, clearly satisfied with Zixu's progress. In his eyes, Zixu was highly gifted in space-time ninjutsu. If he continued practicing, it was only a matter of time before he mastered the Flying Thunder God.

"You've basically grasped the basics. You're ready to leave." The Fourth Hokage gave Zixu a warm smile, like a spring breeze.

"But before that, we still need to reinforce the Dragon Vein's seal. Your sealing techniques are strong, Zixu. Come help me out."

Zixu set Sara down, letting her reunite with her people, then followed Minato back into the collapsing tower.

At the familiar spot, Minato stabbed his special kunai into the Dragon Vein. To strengthen the seal, he asked Zixu to offer a medium for the technique.

Zixu thought for a while but couldn't find anything suitable on him. Finally, he settled on removing one of his own scales.

With a steady hand, Zixu carved out a series of sealing arrays like flowing water. Minato was shocked by how smooth and advanced his work was. Not even Kushina had shown such skill. Was this guy from the former Whirlpool Country?

"Damn... I really was the one who set all this up myself..." Zixu murmured, amazed as he looked at the seal arrays and dragon scales. No wonder they felt so familiar.

Holding the dying centipede in his hand, Zixu knew he didn't have much time. He had to act fast.

Back on the surface, Roran's towers had collapsed entirely. Sara stared at the ruins of her ancient kingdom, clearly heartbroken. The Dragon Vein and Rora, which had been protected for generations, were now lost.

"What's wrong, Sara? Your people are still here. Why cry?" Zixu stepped up behind her and handed her one of his dragon scales.

"Remember our promise? Lead your people, survive, and grow strong. I believe when we meet again, I'll need your strength."

"Roran still exists right here." Zixu tapped her forehead gently. Her tears stopped—or maybe she forced herself to hold them back. She couldn't let the Dragon God down.

"Yes!" Sara clutched the dragon scale to her chest and nodded firmly.

The centipede's life finally faded out, but Zixu wasn't taking chances. He burned its body to ash, clapped his hands, and eyed the glowing remains curiously.

"To prevent this incident from disrupting our time-space continuity, I'll perform a memory sealing technique." Minato quickly formed hand signs. This time, he didn't ask for permission.

This was why he agreed to teach Zixu the Flying Thunder God. Their memories would vanish anyway—no harm done.

"What?! But the promise between me and Lord Dragon Go—" Sarah panicked and tried to stop Minato, but her teammates restrained her.

Zixu shook his head and motioned to the dragon scale in her hands, then turned his gaze to Minato's two companions.

"Now that I think about it, I figured something out a while ago..." Zixu paused, smiling like he'd remembered something funny. "Your daughter are strong. You'll be proud of them... probably."

The two were confused. They weren't even married yet—how could they have daughter? But remembering that Zixu came from the future, it started to make a little more sense.

The white glow surrounding them intensified as Minato's technique neared completion. Zixu's body grew transparent, his consciousness being pulled away—he was heading back to the future.

Just before he blacked out, Sara seemed to break free and rushed toward him, arms out like she wanted to hug him. But Zixu had already vanished, and the hug missed.

His head was spinning, like being flung off a Ferris wheel and then bungee-jumped from the sky. The headache was brutal.

"Heh... memory sealing technique, huh? I got it now..." Zixu smirked. Though sealing arts were his forte, this was his first time seeing a memory-sealing jutsu. Still, he was already breaking it down in his head.

"The past never really passed. Flying Thunder God... Sara, huh..." He tried moving but groaned from the pain. Every inch of him felt like it had been run over by eight steamrollers. Numb from pain.

"Someone's coming..." He was lying down, but his senses were sharp. He sensed a scorpion hiding beneath the sand, a rattlesnake exposed above the ground, the sand shifting with the wind...

He could "see" everything in his mind. But something was off.

Someone was approaching—no, something. Their presence was cloaked in a black mist that blocked his perception. All he could see was a dense, shapeless mass heading his way.

The mist moved with intent, coming straight through the ruins above and down toward where Zixu lay.

He no longer needed to sense it. He could now hear the soft footfalls, the swaying of a cloak in the wind, and a strange, heavy breathing.

"Don't tell me I'm really gonna die like this..." Zixu groaned. It was a shitty way to go.

He tried moving again, but even lifting a finger drained him.

"Yeah... I'm totally at death's door..."

Finally, the mist loomed behind him. He couldn't see the figure's face, but he could feel their intense, crazed stare.

"Huh?" No attack came. Instead, a pair of soft, pale arms gently lifted him up. The figure's hood obscured her face, but her delicate jawline suggested she was beautiful.

"Sara?" Zixu recognized her instantly—the dragon scale necklace on her chest gave her away.

Seeing the recognition in his eyes, Sara dropped the act. She pulled back her hood, revealing a more mature version of the woman he remembered, and gave him a light embrace.

Before Zixu could react, Sara pressed her lips gently against his cheek.

"Lord Dragon God... you were right. Roran still exists... here."
