In an unknown cave somewhere, Orochimaru supported his chin with one hand, slowly sticking out his tongue as he thoughtfully observed everything before him.

Below, densely packed white figures crowded together, resembling ant eggs in an ant nest—so densely packed that anyone with claustrophobia would feel suffocated.

"The integration of Hidan's cells was not very successful. The First Hokage's cells had too strong a phagocytic property. Although they retained their initial immortality, their stability decreased." Orochimaru adjusted his glasses and methodically recorded his observations.

"The integration of the fruit went very smoothly, but the controllability is too low. There have already been instances of escape. "If I want to change the situation in the ninja world, war is the best catalyst. Things are becoming more and more interesting," Orochimaru muttered, an evil smile curling his lips. He looked as if he had discovered a new world, his entire being trembling with excitement.

He moved to another basement. It had to be said: Orochimaru had as many basements as a rat had holes. A cunning rabbit has three burrows, but no one could count how many Orochimaru had.

Layer after layer, Orochimaru unlocked the security doors and finally reached the deepest chamber. Inside a glass column, a red-haired boy floated in solution. He seemed to have grown older, and his facial features looked increasingly like Uzumaki Zixu.

Orochimaru hesitated, holding a bluish-purple fruit in his hand, contemplating whether to feed it to the boy.

"Let's wait a bit longer..." Orochimaru muttered, storing the fruit away and leaving the room. Yet at that very moment, the boy's eyelids fluttered faintly—as if sensing something. His focus was on the exact spot where Orochimaru had kept the fruit.

Meanwhile, Kabuto continued to dig graves across various secret locations. Strangely enough, as he dug more and more graves, his aura grew increasingly cold and gloomy, and even his blood seemed to chill.

"I did discover quite a few secret techniques during my grave-digging... That's a significant gain," Kabuto said as he patted the dirt off his clothes. But this was not his greatest harvest.

At the last grave, Kabuto pulled out a map, checked the coordinates carefully, and crawled into the hole like a snake.

Kabuto was extremely secretive. Many of the graves he excavated were not part of Orochimaru's assignments. For example, he had secretly mastered the Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei) technique. He had even learned Sage Mode (Senjutsu) without Orochimaru's knowledge...

The air inside the cavern was heavy and foul, a mixture of moldy stagnant water and apples left to rot for months. As Kabuto moved, tiny pieces of gravel rained down from above. He had dug into the cliffside halfway up the mountain; below, the cliff dropped into a black abyss. Without knowing the inside story, one might have thought it was just an ordinary cliff.

Kabuto transformed into a large, fat white snake, bloated but still oddly retaining his two tiny front paws—no one knew their purpose, but they added an eerie sense of intelligence to his form.

Cautiously, he slithered downward, mindful not to slip and fall. Though the journey was slow, he eventually reached the bottom of the cliff safely. Searching carefully, he found a deeply hidden stone chamber.

There, an old man with white hair and beard sat motionless on a stone chair, hair so long it trailed on the ground. His head drooped as if he was merely sleeping—and might awaken at any moment.

"Found it..." Kabuto's snake form split into a wicked grin, but the smile only made him appear more terrifying.

Back in Sky City, Uzumaki Zixu returned to find that Aburame Hatsuizumi had gone out for an errand. Zixu didn't mind; everyone had their own matters to handle. However, he couldn't shake off a growing sense of urgency—as if a great upheaval was imminent.

"Karin, how's your fruit ability development going? If you've hit your limit, don't cling too tightly to the fruit. You can start combining it with an understanding of ninjutsu. Have you heard of Haki? (Busoshoku Haki - Armament Haki) I'll teach you soon."

"Shiro, practicing swordplay again? Have you read through the original sword technique scroll I gave you? Good, good. It includes a method to imbue your weapon with Armament Haki. Keep it up!"

After checking in on everyone, Zixu noticed Rosinante lazily sunbathing, cuddling the fat black snake. He gave up trying to motivate those two.

"As for Kisame, we'll attempt communication first. If he refuses to change sides, he can serve as a generator underwater."

Heading to the secret chamber, Zixu inspected the cell holding Kakuzu, right next to Kisame's.

Surprisingly, Kisame was very cooperative this time. After Zixu promised him a peaceful world, Kisame agreed without resistance.

This puzzled Zixu—he sensed a shadow of Nagato's influence in Kisame, suggesting that both of them had been guided by some hidden hand.

But it wasn't a major concern. Zixu planned to station Kisame at the front lines, assigning him extremely dangerous missions under the excuse of "tempering his strength" and "trusting his ability."

"By the way, Samehada was taken by Aburame Hatsuizumi for research. It won't be returned for a while. You should find yourself another suitable weapon for now."
