""Conqueror's Haki?"
Zixu felt the changes in his body. It was clear that his physique had undergone a substantial enhancement due to the awakening. His control over his body had improved significantly, as if an invisible force was refining his every movement.
He tried to harness it, but the aura was completely beyond his control. The advanced applications—like the infusion of Conqueror's Haki into attacks—were far out of his reach. Right now, he was stuck at the very first stage, where the power would only activate under extreme emotional fluctuations. Worse still, he had no way to control the range or distinguish between friend and foe.
Even so, Zixu was more than satisfied. After all, Conqueror's Haki was an ability so rare that only one in millions possessed it. Among the strongest warriors of the seas, it was practically a necessity—those without it didn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the top dogs.
The Haki system alone, when cultivated to its peak, was no weaker than a Devil Fruit.
After all, the Pirate King himself conquered the seas without any Devil Fruit ability, relying solely on Haki and sheer will. And then there was Red-Haired Shanks, who had pushed Haki to such an extreme level that it was always passively active. But even for monsters like them, Haki alone wasn't enough—they combined it with physical prowess and swordsmanship to dominate their enemies.
"System, can I unlock Armament Haki and Observation Haki too? Also, can I upgrade Conqueror's Haki with points?"
[Given the host's current state, it is not recommended to unlock multiple abilities in a short period of time. Doing so will significantly increase the point cost.]
[Conqueror's Haki cannot be directly cultivated through the system. Its strength will only increase as the host's spirit and overall power grow.]
[The host can enhance their spirit by battling strong opponents, which will naturally improve their Conqueror's Haki.]
[Host has completed the second phase of the organization's missions. Overall combat rating has reached B-. Novice missions will no longer be issued. From now on, accepting missions will require spending reward points. Please use them wisely.]
[You have obtained Ninjutsu: Adamantine Sealing Chains.]
"Damn, you should've told me earlier!" Zixu groaned in frustration. If the system had warned him before, he wouldn't have blown all his points unlocking the Haki system. Now, he didn't even have enough left to accept a mission.
But as soon as he saw the final notification, his irritation faded.
"Wait a sec... This is the system making it up to me, right?" He smirked, thinking he had lucked out. But after a moment, his memory kicked in.
"...Oh. Never mind. This was part of the mission reward from before."
Since so much time had passed, he had completely forgotten about it.
A somewhat worn-out, dark-red scroll appeared in his hand. Zixu unrolled it, his eyes scanning the contents. As he read the introduction, his expression gradually became more serious.
"If I master this... it might be just as powerful as Haki."
[Adamantine Sealing Chains]
A sealing technique unique to the Uzumaki Clan. By using chakra, the user can generate multiple golden chains from their back, which serve as both offensive weapons and powerful barriers. These chains excel at restraining enemies and can even suppress Tailed Beasts. When paired with the Uzumaki Clan's vast chakra reserves, this ability becomes terrifyingly powerful.
Zixu sighed in admiration as he took in the details. At the same time, his hatred for Danzo grew even stronger.
"The old bastard must've hoarded techniques like this from my parents. The Uzumaki Clan's sealing arts are our birthright, yet he'd rather bury them than let an 'outsider' like me inherit them? He probably planned to dangle basic ninjutsu scrolls in front of me later to try and buy me off..."
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
Eventually, he shook off his irritation and refocused. After carefully memorizing the training steps and the chakra flow required to activate the technique, he stored the scroll away. His mind was now set on how to properly cultivate the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
Wanting to check his current standing, Zixu pulled up the Organization Module. He skipped past the useless details and went straight to the Organization Strength Rating—C+.
His personal combat rating was now B-, meaning his improvement had raised the overall ranking of the organization as well.
Hyuga Chinano's strength was hovering between C+ and C, while Aburame Hatsuizumi was between C and C-.
Finally, his gaze landed on the organization's mission progress:
[Escape from Konoha's Control] (2/3 Completed)
"Only one step left..."
Zixu's eyes narrowed. The last remaining task was clear—freeing Chinano from the Caged Bird Curse.
And once that was done, their path to freedom would be wide open.
"But it's a bit annoying that I can't accept missions without mission points. Turns out those last two were just novice missions. But according to what the system said before, you can also get points by changing the situation in the ninja world. Honestly, that's probably the real way to earn them."
Zixu calmed his thoughts, sitting on his bed as he pondered how to influence the ninja world.
It hadn't been long since he awakened his Conqueror's Haki. The afternoon sunlight filtered through the leaves outside his window, casting a dark green hue on the walls. A wave of laziness washed over him. He pushed open the window, letting the wind cool his dizzy head.
"The technological development of this world is all over the place. If chakra could be used as an energy source to create mass-produced thermal weapons, it could drastically change the balance of power. Then there's the possibility of using various bloodline limits to develop experimental bodies, multi-attribute chakra bombs, even Earth Release-based tanks..."
Zixu had knowledge from another world, filled with memories of modern weapons. Even if he wasn't an expert, he had at least seen their potential in action.
But he suddenly snapped out of it.
"No, no! Why the hell was my first instinct to think of making weapons? If I hand something like that to the villages, they'll just start an even bigger war. They'd crush their enemies with overwhelming force and try to unify the world for themselves..."
Expecting politicians to prioritize peace was naive. Zixu had seen enough examples in his past life—these kinds of people would downplay disastrous consequences if it meant achieving their goals. And if things went south? A forced apology was enough to sweep everything under the rug.
"It looks like I'm still influenced by this world's mindset. I need to keep a clear head and make sure I don't go down the path of a warmonger. My goal should be to help civilians, not start a damn terrorist organization."
With that in mind, Zixu started analyzing the fundamental issues.
First, civilians and ninjas were practically two different species. The entire economy revolved around supporting the ninja class, while the ninjas were supposedly tasked with protecting civilians. But everyone knew the truth—when disaster struck, ninjas had ways to escape, while civilians were left behind to die.
Second, the divide between civilians and ninjas ran deep. But since the ninja class had absolute power, the resentment never turned into open rebellion. Civilians were stuck farming, relying on luck for survival. Ninjas, on the other hand, could use jutsu to make crops flourish—yet no one could afford to hire a high-ranking ninja just to water their fields. Instead of helping, ninja villages ended up being an economic burden.
Lastly, civilians had zero say in ninja conflicts, yet they always suffered the most. Every village claimed to "protect its people," but in reality, civilians were nothing more than collateral damage.
"The technology used in daily life isn't bad, but what civilians really need is the power to protect themselves and a stable life. And for that stability, they need real strength." Zixu scratched his head in frustration. The gap between civilians and ninjas was just too massive.
At that moment, he thought about how useful it would be to have someone skilled in scientific research.
"But... in a world like this, who the hell would waste time studying science? Everyone here believes in chakra like it's a damn religion. If I start preaching about technology, people will probably think I've lost my mind."
Realizing that finding like-minded people would be near impossible, he shifted his focus to chakra tools—devices that could store chakra and release it when needed. If he could make chakra more accessible to civilians, they wouldn't be so helpless.
"Still... this kinda thing isn't really my expertise. I should just focus on training. If I can't figure something out now, I'll deal with it when I'm stronger."
Deciding to take a break, Zixu left his room. Maybe getting some fresh air would help him find inspiration.
He knew that working in isolation wasn't smart. If he wanted to change things, he needed to understand the everyday lives and struggles of ordinary people.
Although it was already afternoon, the sun had yet to set. A gentle evening breeze rolled through the village, rustling the trees and sending a few dry leaves drifting to the ground. The temperature was just right—neither scorching like midday nor chilly like dusk. It was the perfect time for a walk.
Instead of heading toward the village center, Zixu went in the opposite direction. The heart of the village was dominated by powerful clans, with stores catering exclusively to ninjas. That wasn't the kind of place he wanted to be.
As he walked, the atmosphere around him gradually changed. The bustling shops filled with ninja tools and dojos faded into the background, replaced by down-to-earth businesses like seed shops and fertilizer stores.
The differences were obvious.
Buildings in the village center were elegant, multi-story structures with fancy paint jobs. Out here, houses were simple and practical, built for survival rather than aesthetics. There were even a few small farms—a rare sight inside the village, since most arable land was located outside the walls.
But due to the village's strict policies, civilians hadn't been allowed to leave for years. Supposedly, this was for their own "protection." Because of that, Zixu had little knowledge of the world beyond Konoha.
Finding a small restaurant, he sat outside without going in, watching the people pass by and listening to their conversations.
"The harvest doesn't look good this year. A heavy rain hit right after planting season, washing away all the seeds."
"Drought kills, flood kills. My field hasn't had any rain, and the seedlings are already drying up. I even borrowed a water storage scroll this year, but I don't think I'll be able to pay it back."
"I heard it was because of a ninja fight outside the village. They were setting up some kind of barrier, and the clash messed up the weather."
"Haah... What can we do? This is just the era we live in. We have no talent for ninjutsu, so we just have to accept our fate."
Zixu clenched his fists.
This wasn't just an isolated problem—it was a systematic issue, baked into the very foundation of the ninja world. And if he wanted to change things, he needed to start somewhere.
