Firearms were indeed a nightmare for lower-level combatants. Chunin and Genin had almost no means of resisting their power. However, for elite shinobi, it was a different story. Those with high-level combat power still possessed the ability to defend against bullets.

The impact sent Kankuro hurtling backward. He crashed to the ground with a heavy thud.

"Hahaha!"

The possessed shinobi cackled maniacally.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Fueled by madness, he lunged at Kankuro once more, eyes brimming with bloodlust. He intended to tear Kankuro to shreds.

But then, a subtle, eerie smirk curved at the corner of Kankuro's mouth.

"Kill?"

A flash of confusion flickered in the shinobi's eyes. Alarmed, he hastily retreated, his instincts warning him of impending danger.

The possessed shinobi had only taken three steps back when he slammed into an Iwaheki (Earth Wall) behind him.

His eyes narrowed.

"Let's go," he ordered.

"We'll only suffer in a head-on fight. Those guns are devastating in direct combat. There's no need to waste lives here."

His decision was cold and pragmatic. Fighting any longer was pointless. Advancing their position was far more valuable.

"No sense letting these go to waste," one of them muttered as he stuffed a scroll into his pouch.

Seeing the Sand-nin retreat, the Kirigakure and Iwagakure forces also dispersed.

The Cloud-nin's brutal self-destruction had demonstrated the true might of firearms.

After witnessing this, the Mist and Rock forces decided on a new strategy—assassination. A direct confrontation was now a fool's gambit. Stealth and precision would serve them far better.

Back in Kumogakure, the Raikage was still unaware of the massacre that had befallen his forces.

He was patrolling the village, casually gathering information.

Suddenly, he felt an unexplained chill run down his spine. A vague sense of dread settled in his chest.

Meanwhile, Killer Bee wandered the village streets, carefree and relaxed.

He strolled along with a foolish grin, clearly enjoying his outing.

But beneath his lighthearted demeanor lay the strength of a perfect Jinchūriki—the wielder of the Eight-Tails.

The beast's voice rumbled in the depths of his mind.

"Bee, pay attention. Someone's targeting you," the deep, guttural voice of Gyūki (Eight-Tails) warned.

In the spiritual realm, Bee sat atop Gyūki's massive head, casually bobbing to his own rhythm.

However, beneath his sunglasses, Bee's eyes narrowed.

The man was unnaturally tall, with a shark-like grin, bluish skin, and jagged teeth. Gills adorned his face.

Bee frowned.

"Damn... that guy ain't friendly."
