Chapter 09: Ru Ziyan

"Grandpa, can I play this outside?" A little young boy looked eagerly at the old man in front. He was holding a mini toy Mecha in his hand and ever since he knew that his toy could fly, he wanted to play with it outside and see how far it can fly above.

His grandfather didn’t respond immediately but stared quietly at the anticipation and innocence of the little boy’s eyes before sighing heavily.

"Yunyun, I’m sorry but you can’t," the old man apologized heavily. "It’s still dangerous for you to go outside now."

The light on the boy’s eyes quickly dimmed and he lowered his head.

"Okay..."

His grandpa sighs again and squatted down. The latter put a hand gently on his shoulder and spoke solemnly but also with a hint of gentleness. "The war outside is very dangerous. You must not have any accident and I hope Yunyun understands that."

"Because of my power?" Feng Rouyun asked.

He nodded. "Grandpa knows that it’s unfair to Yunyun but there are many people waiting for you to grow up. They need our help."

The little boy nodded firmly. "Okay! Yunyun will grow up quickly!"

"Rouyun? Rouyun, can you hear me?"

He snapped back to his senses when he heard Ru Anyan’s voice calling for him.

He looked at the woman but his eyes darted on the black cloud above her head. It looks a bit lighter than Gu Weiyi’s.

His fingers move and he subconsciously wants to reach out his hand again but he holds himself tight in case he will get a reaction like yesterday from the young man too.

"The doctor said you can be discharged tomorrow. He also said that you have to slow down a bit and not overwork yourself too much."

"... Okay," he softly responded.

Ru Anyan looked at the young man and seeing his obedience again made her expression turn softer. Even the tone of her voice slowed down and she just couldn’t help but pat the young man’s head lightly.

"I’ll also arrange your meeting with the group tomorrow so rest well today."

Feng Rouyun was stunned but nodded again.

"Alright. I’ll have to go." Ru Anyan bid farewell and just as she opened the door to leave, she heard a familiar voice coming from outside.

"It wasn’t my fault to begin with that he’s too weak, why are you blaming me?"

Her eyebrow rose and she quickly found that source and just like she expected, she saw the familiar young man in the corridor with a middle-aged man wearing glasses that looked like a teacher.

No, it doesn’t just ’look’ like because that was really his teacher.

Her expression turned cold immediately.

"Ru Ziyan!" She shouted the name.

Hearing the call made the young man subconsciously tremble and he turned his head in that direction.

"!!!" And there was his older sister standing with her usual cold gaze at him.

After the initial shock, irritation quickly plastered on the young man’s face and he wanted to ignore that call but his sister strode her way to them and turned to the man he’s been with.

"Are you Ziyan’s teacher? What happened and you’re here at the hospital?" she asked.

His teacher sighs. "Your brother was caught in a fight again in class and his classmate has to visit the hospital."

Ru Anyan became anxious. "Why visit? What happened? How much injury? Is it serious?"

"Not really but Ziyan punched him in the stomach hard so we went here to just check further."

"What?!" Ru Anyan was bewildered.

"Teacher, it was not even too hard! He was clearly just acting!" Ru Ziyan defended himself.

"Alright whatever it is, the fact that you fought is clear. So you’ll have to face consequences for this. Meet me at the office later with your guardian." The teacher looked at Ru Anyan.

"Please attend the meeting later."

When the teacher leaves, Ru Anyan wants to settle the account immediately but the latter raises his hand.

"If you want to be photographed and be labeled as a bully, it’s not my fault that you and your little brother’s reputation will go bad again."

Ru Anyan huffed in anger and grabbed her brother in Feng Rouyun’s room.

"Ru Ziyan, you’re making a mess again!" She couldn’t help but scold even though they’re now inside a room with other people.

Ru Ziyan just snorted and turned his head to the owner where they saw Feng Rouyun just looking at them quietly.

"Who is this? Your new little brother?" Ziyan’s tone of voice sounded a bit mockery but Ru Anyan didn’t bother to dwell on that.

"Stay here first and don’t ever leave or else I’ll tell Mom to cut off your allowance." She warned.

"Rouyun, can my brother stay here for a bit? I want to settle something outside, okay?" She asked the young man who nodded. She glared at her brother again before going out, planning to find Ziyan’s teacher again to talk about something.

Inside the room, Ziyan turned his attention to the unfamiliar young man on the bed. His eyebrow raises a bit of interest.

"You’re under my sister?" He asked and the latter nodded.

He squinted his eyes. He thought that his sister preferred to handle boys with rebellious character like the members of Ellipsis but looking at this one in front of him, he even looks like a child, right?

He looks more obedient and well-behaved than anyone he can think of.

But anyway, he doesn’t care.

Whoever it is, it doesn’t matter anyway.

"What’s your name?"

"Feng Rouyun."

Ru Ziyan paused. Feng Rouyun? Was this the name he heard from her that was the new member of the Ellipsis?

He looked at the young man and thought of the usual behavior and music of the other three and his lips twitched.

Is the company out of their mind and they wanted a sheep in a wolf pack as a member?

He smirked and held out his hand to Feng Rouyun.

"Hello, I’m Ru Anyan’s younger brother. My name is Ru Ziyan," he smiled widely for the first time.

The young man looked hesitant but also stretched out his hand to shake hands.

"... Hello," his soft voice greeted him.

His lips twitch again. Did the company kidnapped a minor perhaps?
