Chapter 04: Ellipsis

Ellipsis is a three member group that debuted four years ago. They were formed from a high intensity survival show and became the winner. The show was called TopAlphas which was a full live-broadcast except for the performances of the trainees. This reality show quickly rose to heat due to the live broadcasting which enabled them to directly observe the trainees inside the training camp.

Some of them had always worn a persona but because of the intensity of the training, the constant pressure and anxiety broke down their mask. Some were lucky to have a genuine dedicated heart and thus it gave them a full advantage while many had collapsed because of the contrasting personality they had showcased outside.

At the end, only 3 out of 15 trainees were selected to debut and thus called Ellipsis.

Yang Yueran, the leader. He is the oldest and the leader of the group. Considered as an Alpha because of his majestic stance as a leader. In addition to his sharp feature, the deep baritone voice of his was his highlight. When he was still a trainee, he was treated as one of the most intimidating inside and thus had a hard time communicating with others especially on group performance. This was probably the bottleneck he encountered and even got almost eliminated due to the high votes from the trainees to eliminate. Fortunately, Yang Yueran was never the person who doesn’t know how to adapt. He changed himself and broadened his horizon from learning to every trainee and managed to express himself well in front of everyone. His leadership became the key to convince everyone that it’s not just his skills but also his attitude to be inside an idol group to debut.

The second member is Gu Weiyi, an all-rounder idol. Even inside the competition, he had already composed songs for himself with his amazing voice and dancing skills. He was the most daring trainee back then who used his own creation in the performance to prove his qualities as an all-rounder. And with his amazing talent, this made him one of the strongest contenders and finally got the spot at the end. However, even with his high qualities as an idol, Gu Weiyi was still loved by many because of his personality. The Dream Brother— this is what everyone describes every time they see him. Because of his high intelligence whether in IQ or EQ and most especially for his gentle-like temperament, Gu Weiyi was sought out as a brother that everyone wanted. This captured many fans to like and vote for him until the end.

The last member and the youngest is named Chi Xining, the music prodigy. He can play most of the instruments and is the epitome of freedom. Even when he was a trainee, Chi Xining was someone who knew himself when it came to music. A free-spirited young man who’s never afraid to run to the path he chose rather than just be cautious in walking towards his goal. This made his fans liking him because even with his young age, he is someone who can see clearly about the future he wanted to take. Furthermore, his parents were also well-known from the industry and the young man was often seen from different film sites, making him somehow grow in the eyes of everyone. This easily made the fans like him and felt like they grew with him, attaching more intimacy than others.

It’s just the three of them but each member has their own high qualities that made them stand out among everyone. And even with just a short amount of time back then, they were passionate enough to work hard and finally had the spot they longed for.

Ellipsis became a group that everyone admired.

Yet now, there’s a new member who got in without even a sudden logical reason.

It’s not just the fans but most importantly, the members themselves couldn’t accept this. But who would in the right mind completely accept this with an open arms anyway?

Thus inside the private room of Ellipsis, the three members are currently in a tight meeting with Ru Anyan because the latter said that it is their time to meet him.

It’s just that no members want to come and cooperate so the situation is making her head aces even more.

"You have no choice." Ru Anyan hardened her voice to them. "The company has already decided on this matter so you have to cooperate."

Yang Yueran has his eyebrows furrowed and it’s obvious that he’s in a bad mood. "Does the company feel that our popularity isn’t enough?"

"That’s right. Aren’t they afraid that there’ll be backlash?" Chi Xining asked and Ru Anyan couldn’t answer them because she also didn’t know what’s going on with their minds.

She was shocked when the company just dropped the bomb at her. They didn’t consult her or the group and just made the decision without anything. Same as them, she was also worried about what will happen to the group in this case. He black fans will definitely use this situation to ruin the hard work of the members.

If Feng Rouyu will do his best and can stand the member’s ability in a short time, maybe there’s still hope... but as she had observed from the young man. It’s obvious that he wasn’t even familiar with the things of being an idol.

In addition, the young man is also kinda obedient. The three members of Ellipsis were obviously stubborn. Yang Yueran is cold, Gu Weiyi looks gentle but he was the most cautious while Chi Xining is sharp-tongued. Will he really fit inside the team?

Ru Anyan couldn’t help but rub her temples. She felt that the future is going black. How could she deal with this?!

Gu Weiyi looked at their haggard Manager and felt a bit pity for her. He knew that the Captain and Xining won’t listen and only him can probably reconsider. However, he really doesn’t want to meet the ’new’ member right now. As someone who had poured his life for the team, he just doesn’t want to accept someone who can join them without even proving their capabilities.

Or even if Feng Rouyu has, was that enough to disregard the pride of their team?

Silence engulfed the private room until Ru Anyan’s phone vibrated. She took it up and he couldn’t help but raise his brow when he noticed the stunned look on her face as if she saw something.

"Is there something wrong?" Yang Yueran and Gu Weiyi obviously noticed the change of her expression too. Aside from them who are under her care, who else would she worry about other than the new member?

"I have to go. Feng Rouyu was rushed to the hospital." Ru Anyan stood up and glanced at them. "Think about when you’re ready to meet him. Anyway, sooner or later it will come." her words before leaving the room.

Seeing the closed door, Chi Xining couldn’t help but comment, "Sister Ru is very concerned about that new member."

Yang Yueran narrowed his eyes but didn’t answer. However, from his face it’s clear that he also noticed Ru Anyan’s attitude which was the contrast a few days ago when she lashed her anger for the group.

Gu Weiyi shrugged. "Maybe there’s really something special to that Feng Rouyu?"

Chi Xining’s face went grim. "It’s still not enough."

Gu Weiyi didn’t answer him anymore and looked at the door. It was rare for their Manager to change her attitude way too fast. Although maybe because Feng Rouyu showed a good attitude, from the concern on her face, what is going on?

Gu Weiyi squinted his eyes. Maybe he should really meet the new member?
