[BL] Debut on Earth After Retiring as the Healer of Interstellar

Chapter 33: Sneak

Chapter 33: Sneak

"Are you really sure that this is okay?" Feng Rouyun’s hesitant voice sounded. His eyes were looking back and forth of the three men he was with.

And he might probably be the only one who’s worrying about whatever they are doing right now because Yang Yueran and others have calm expressions— wait no, he could even vaguely feel the faint anticipation and excitement on their face.

"You should calm down." Gu Weiyi had the mood to talk to the latter in a good mood. He glanced at him in the rear-view mirror and clucked his tongue inside his mouth when he saw that the young man looked very worried. Although he really wasn’t comfortable with his obedient and timid face, he could now control his irritation especially because of what they’re doing now.

As Yang Yueran has guessed earlier, Feng Rouyun could feel the energy in that potted plant because they have the same essence of the minerals— both came naturally from an inorganic source of Earth. As someone who loves sneaking reading fiction novels, Gu Weiyi quickly understands that principle.

Isn’t this just the same with cultivator protagonist? They cultivate through the energy they feel from the world, nature and other living things perhaps. What Feng Rouyun described to them was the same as this— except that he really couldn’t see any fantastical strength to the young man. He was still the same, looking delicate and weak.

Anyway since it is like this, he suggested sneaking around and taking Feng Rouyun somewhere where they can fully confirm those hypotheses. They will find a place full of trees and nature to be more specific.

The reason why they can’t just go to park was mainly because of their identities and also for Feng Rouyun to really ’connect’ with that energy so they need to drive a bit away from the city to also avoid further accidents from reporters.

"You don’t have to worry." Yang Yueran added while his eyes were focusing on the road while driving. "We have done this before and we haven’t caught it yet," he confessed.

Feng Rouyun was stunned. They did?

"Does the company know this?"

Chu Xining who was beside him noticed his reaction so he snorted. He crosses his arms and proudly speaks. "Brother Ran is very good at strategizing on how to avoid those reporters so even if the company found out, they have no choice but to shut up. Besides we’re not doing anything illegal, just sneaking out is normal. Haven’t you done this?"

Feng Rouyun paused for a second and remembered the original’s memories. "Uhm, no. The workplace I’ve been to doesn’t have long breaks to do that either."

Chu Xining was dumbfounded. "Who does this on break? Sneaking out is sneaking! Like doing it secretly! Like just skipping work!"

He still shook his head. "No. I don’t have time for that."

"How so? And what kind of work are you talking about?" Gu Weiyi couldn’t help but ask.

He tilted his head and listed down the jobs that the original Feng Rouyun did.

"I used to be a waiter, do dishes, clean floors, and also do some small errands..." so on and so forth. The young man was so occupied remembering multiple jobs that he didn’t notice how the car went silent at his words.

Listening to the bunch of jobs he had, isn’t it obvious that it’s not that he can sneak out because he is too busy with those? Furthermore, given his circumstances even if he wanted to, he cannot.

Their reason for work was different. One was to chase their dreams and prove themselves while the other one was mainly for the money. They might have the burdens and pressure but the tightness that the latter just couldn’t afford to do is obviously not the same as the former.

Even Feng Rouyun himself felt an admiration for the original owner. The memories inside his head was like a lifelong movie of an ordinary person that he wasn’t in his past life. They do have different lives but somehow, the responsibilities that they have are the same.

Both were for the people around them.

Both were something that they would never let go even if it meant not sneaking out and playing secretly like this.

On the other hand, the three who heard his words fell into silence. They have read his file and knew that before taking this, he took small jobs altogether and doesn’t have any time to spare like them. Although they too have pack schedules, at least they do have even hours to rest, unlike him.

In addition, the payment is surely not even enough to support that orphanage, right?

This was something that the three couldn’t understand because they were never in the position, not only because they came from a prominent family but mainly because of his reasons to work all day long because of other people and not for themselves.

This was actually the biggest difference between Feng Rouyun and Ellipsis. The latter wants to become stronger and capable to support the family he has while the former wants to become stronger and capable to prove themselves.

And it’s also ironic that Feng Rouyun was doing this to people whom he doesn’t really relate to but as for those who have their own blood-related families, they just couldn’t.

Those thoughts flashed on their minds and they grew even more silent. Feng Rouyun also came back to his senses and noticed the atmosphere suddenly went cold and even the black clouds above their heads showed darkening sight.

He was surprised and immediately let the spiritual energy flow around the small space of the car. He didn’t use direct contact and just let them feel the gentle caress of the energy, enough for them to snap on their senses too.

This technique is what he often does when he and the higher-ups of their federation are in the meeting. It often leads to this heavy and cold atmosphere due to the seriousness of the problem or just a conflict arising between them so he always does this to ease their tension. Even though it cannot heal their mental pollution directly, it can calm their nerves and relax themselves.

"Are you okay?" he asked the three.

"You..." Chu Xining opened his lips but didn’t know what to say especially seeing the young man’s natural expression so could only turn his head towards the window and stay silent.

Feng Rouyun was a little surprised. He thought that the latter might say something again like he usually does but he actually didn’t.

Gu Weiyi who witnessed Xining’s reaction chuckles and quickly earns a glare from the youngest yet he just laughs silently. The atmosphere went back to the usual casual and at ease.

As for Yang Yueran, even though he didn’t see their faces, he knew better what’s going on and just silently shook his head.

His face was just focusing on what’s in front of him so they didn’t notice how the corner of his lips curled up slightly.

"Is this okay?"

After more than half an hour of driving they finally arrived at a location. It was a bit far away from the city and it’s actually not an ’actual’ destination but rather just beside the roadside. However, they were in a large zigzag type wide roadside wherein what’s on their left was like a mountain hill and on the right side was a breathtaking view of the city below and even further was the large ocean— looking so blue and serene.

Feng Rouyun didn’t answer but just got out of the car. His eyes were now glued at the magnificent view in front of him.
