Chapter 20: Li Zhihai

They turned towards that direction and saw Yang Yueran and Gu Weiyi together with another unfamiliar man who voiced that out.

"President Li!" Ru Anyan recognized the man and quickly greeted him. Chu Xining also let go of Feng Rouyun’s collar and they greeted him too.

"Xining, you can’t just attack him like this." Li Zhihai, Axing Entertainment Company’s President— their President actually heard and saw the commotion!

"Don’t worry, President Li, Xining was just joking. He didn’t mean what he said." Ru Anyan quickly made an excuse even though she knew that the man knew she was just lying. This was just to deal with what happened and indirectly asking him not to mind the quarrel.

Li Zhihai didn’t answer and instead turned to Feng Rouyun with an amicable smile on his face. "This is Feng Rouyun, right? Ellipsis’ new member?"

"Yes, President Li." Ru Anyan secretly touched Feng Rouyun’s elbow and the latter made a small bow of respect to him.

Li Zhihai’s smile widened even more and to their surprise, the latter stretched out his hand to shake hands. "I’m very much looking forward to your future performances with the team."

"...." Hadn’t he heard he’ll quit? Feng Rouyun thought about it and couldn’t help but stare at the man in front of him.

The latter was actually young for being the President of such a large company. Feng Rouyun heard about him from Ru Anyan. He was very decisive and business minded. He was fast to deal with problems around the company, workaholic and of course, money enthusiastic. He’s also good-looking and he seems to be smiling all the time, giving an aura that looks very easy to get close with.

Well that’s what others describe him as Ru Anyan said, but to the employees in the company, they could add additional character to him— cunning.

Absolutely an old fox, she described.

Looking at him personally and seeing the glint of his eyes, it’s obvious that thinking about something that only he knows.

Anyway for Feng Rouyun, he could only just subtly sense it. All he can say is that he’s not very good at sensing other malice due to the careful environment from the people who treated him well.

Other than that, he also unconsciously glanced at the back cloud on his head but was quite surprised when he saw that it was actually lighter than the people around him.

The energy around him isn’t too heavy too unlike others, especially the members of Ellipsis who were now dangling in front of him.

Feng Rouyun decides to ignore that for now and reach for Li Zhihai’s hand.

And the moment their hands clasp, he just subconsciously releases a stream of spiritual energy. Even if the latter is lighter, it doesn’t prevent him from helping it clear.

It’s just that he didn’t know why but the man grinned even more before taking back his hand. Yet to their surprise, he signals the other two on his side to do the same as him.

Gu Weiyi immediately frowned but under the presence of the President, he reluctantly stretched out his hand too to shake hands.

Feng Rouyun knew that the latter didn’t want to do it but he didn’t care anyway. For the second, it’s also for his benefit because he had long wanted to touch them to release his spiritual power on them.

He didn’t waste time and let the energy flow to Gu Weiyi. Seconds later, he saw that there was no longer grumbling of the black cloud so he sighs in relief.

The next one was Yang Yueran. Like Gu Weiyi, he looks uncomfortable doing this but has no choice. The man stretched out his hand and like what he did to Gu Weiyi, Feng Rouyun didn’t hesitate to transfer his spiritual energy to him.

He was focused on doing his work and didn’t notice Yang Yueran’s expression subtly change when their hands touched.

Just like others, Yang Yueran also felt the mysterious energy envelop him softly. But unlike the two who were immersed in the sensation, Yang Yueran’s eyes narrowed as he couldn’t help but suspiciously look at the young man in front of him.

Yang Yueran could keenly feel that the soothing energy surrounding him was definitely from the person. If not, how could he suddenly feel this just in this situation?

"Alright." Li Zhihai speaks again. "In the meeting earlier, we discussed the new accommodations for the four of you." He casually dropped a bomb and didn’t care about the reactions from the people around him. He raised his wrist a bit and looked at the time.

"It was arranged earlier in the morning so they probably had things finalized now. You can just wait and by the way start packing your things now." He smiles as if he’s very proud of his idea and goes to pat Ru Anyan’s shoulder.

"Make sure to assist everything." And he just left.

"...."

Silence. The five of them fell into an awkward silence.

Meanwhile the man inside heard everything and went out of the room with a playful smirk on his lips.

"This is definitely a good chance to get to know each other better. I hope all of you can spend time together well, alright?" He acts like a concerned elder and leaves with an extremely good mood on his face.

Ru Anyan immediately grimaced at how he was very arrogant.

She looked at the four and wanted to rub her temples in dismay again. They haven’t even accepted Rouyun yet and they want them to live with each other?! This is just asking for trouble!

But what can they do anyway?

Her phone vibrated and a call came in so she first warned the four not to cause trouble again before she went a distance away.

Meanwhile, a freezing silence once again enveloped the four remaining. This is the first time that they are together without anyone else.

Chu Xining was not in the mood after what happened and refused to even look at Feng Rouyun. Gu Weiyi just raises his brow and turns to talk to Chu Xining, completely expressing his unwillingness to communicate whereas Yang Yueran remains silent and seems to be in deep thought.

As for Feng Rouyun, he was looking down at his palm.

He could feel the familiar tiredness from the consumption of his spiritual power after giving it to many people. The other three’s situation even made him put more to them earlier.

This tiredness is actually very normal to him but in the past, others would quickly provide him with crystals and such to replenish what was lost.

Feng Rouyun was used to this feeling. But this also kinda reminds him about the last minute of his life.

He remembers going with Wei Zhenyuan and fought with him until the end of his capability to help him.

Now he wonders, did the Commander-in-chief survive the war? Was he rescued after that long fight?
