Chapter 05: Ellipsis’ Lore

Inside a private room, a young man was seen laying unconscious on the bed. His complexion is pale and he looks very haggard despite his young age. Looking at him like this feels like the once vigorous vitality that Ru Anyan felt dissipates like just a wind passes by.

This is what she saw when she entered the young man’s room.

It looked like the sun that was always shining was covered with dimming clouds and its sunshine couldn’t be seen anymore. More looked like a forebeing rain that’s coming, erasing all the vibrant energy that the young man all had.

Ru Anyan subconsciously slows down her breathing and steps as she walks closer to the young man. She stops in front of his bed and quietly stares at him.

This young man looks really out of place for the group. She knew the three boys for a long time and knew the stubbornness on their bones is harder than anyone else. They looked very domineering and strong, completely different from Feng Rouyun.

Feng Rouyun could feel himself lying on a bed. He was now awake but he really didn’t want to wake up. The feeling of laying down lessened the aching on his body from the physical work and he just felt like every time he tried to move even for a bit, his body would ache badly.

It’s too much for him. In his past life, because he was the most powerful senior healer, he was treated as a fragile treasure. They made sure to take care of everything from his daily life and even for a simple action that he needs to take. The people around him just keep on worrying that something might happen or disrupt his life.

Now that in his life Feng Rouyun has no one.

And honestly? He’s afraid.

It’s not the complete life that he was used to. There’s no familiar face, the familiar kindness— everything, even the world that he lived in was something that he only heard from history.

Deep down he’s tremblingly scared about the future that he’ll face.

How could he survive this?

Feng Rouyun just wanted to lay down on the bed for as long as he wanted but he could already feel a presence around him. With no other choice, he slowly opened his eyes and saw Ru Anyan in front of him.

The latter was in daze so Feng Rouyun took that chance to compose himself before slowly getting up.

"M-Manager..." he softly called.

Ru Anyan came back to her senses and subconsciously helped the young man lean his body on the bed. Before she could react she already moved her body and grabbed the pillow to put it behind the young man to assist him.

Feng Rouyun paused at the sudden generosity but his body also acted just subconsciously following the woman’s actions. He moved his body so naturally that it felt like Ru Anya had helped him countless times when in fact it’s the first time.

Ru Anyan was also dumbfounded by her actions and realized that she’s acting weird even from earlier. Gu Weiyi and others were also hospitalized in the past but she wasn’t even this worried? What’s wrong with her that seems to side with the newcomer too fast like this?!

Her face changed and she cleared her throat before backing away. She looked at the young man with a calm face.

"How are you feeling?" She asked politely.

"I’m fine," the young man answered with a slightly hoarse voice.

"The Doctor said that you need to have a proper rest before continuing to practice again." She told him and frowned. "Ellipsis’ choreography is fast and sharp. It’s normal that you are having a hard time coping up but the company wanted you to officially debut in the group for the next album."

She paused. "So you need to work harder."

The young man nodded obediently. "I know, manager. I’ll try harder."

"..." Silence engulfed the room before she cleared her throat. "I need to go back to the company. I’ll arrange someone to take care of your needs." She said and wanted to leave immediately.

Feng Rouyun nodded and wanted to say goodbye but the woman was quick to get out of the room.

"...." Feng Rouyun was even speechless. Her dislike of him is way too obvious but he didn’t know how to get along with her. Never in his life was it him who took initiative to get close to someone who even disliked his existence.

He exhales a loud breath and decides to stop worrying about it. He grabbed the phone the company provided and touched the screen with awkwardness.

The technology in this world is also very backward. In his old life, he used to mainly use his mental power to control the interface of the brain. It’s also like a chip embedded on their wrist so they don’t have to hold something and a virtual date would just float in front of them. Using a phone is extremely awkward for him and he didn’t even know how to use it properly.

The original Feng Rouyun also didn’t have the type of phone he had. The young man only uses a keypad phone and never had used large screens like this.

Fortunately a staff member taught him some basics so he could now quickly go to the album and find the videos he wanted to watch.

He wanted to continue watching the group’s video for observation and learning.

This is a group of people who are known for being rebellious and claim to enforce laws and orders by their own initiative but lack legal authority. In short, Ellipsis is a group with a lore full of sharpness and intimidation.

Even though their songs have different styles, it was always explosive and fast with rhythms and melodies. They never go soft or show any vulnerable sides for every performance they have. Each member also has their own explosiveness and creative style that matches with each other so the group is very well-known to be wild and a bit reckless.

Can someone like Feng Rouyun be in that state? Can he act rebellious, intimidating and all? No. The only thing that others saw him very stubborn about was his big decision to go with Wen Zheyuan in the frontline to confront the zerg Queen.

Never did he raise his voice, angry and show any bad reactions. Thinking of this just made his head ache more.
