Chapter 25: Suspicious

"Did you do it?" Yang Yueran asked when he saw Gu Weiyi coming back from the kitchen. The latter just grunted and plop himself on the couch feeling confused.

"Why did you ask me to shake hands with him in the first place? You know I don’t like it." Gu Weiyi complains. Just earlier while they’re eating, Yang Yueran suddenly asked him to go to Feng Rouyun and shake hands with him.

He of course didn’t want to and tried to pass it to Chu Xining but Yang Yueran said he’ll buy him if he agreed so he chose to do it anyway.

Rather than answering, Yang Yueran asked his observations instead.

"How was it?"

"How was it?" Gu Weiyi repeated his questions and looked at him with an indescribable face. "Why are you even doing this?! That was so weird!"

"Just answer, okay?"

Seeing that Yang Yueran’s expression looks very serious, Gu Weiyi finally answers seriously.

"Fine." Gu Weiyi tilted his head slightly to remember what he really felt when he clasped the young man’s hand, even frowning a bit to really reminisce it carefully not knowing his expression made Yang Yueran’s face turn solemnly.

So there’s really something going on?

He really couldn’t get it out inside his mind which he doesn’t understand? What did Feng Rouyun do to him that he couldn’t just forget?

Right now Yang Yueran just wanted to confirm his thoughts and nothing else because it’s really been bothering him.

He held his breath unconsciously and waited for Gu Weiyi’s confirmation but in the next second just made him speechless.

"What I felt... was nothing."

"... What?"

"Nothing. I mean really really nothing." Gu Weiyi answered and intended to stop right there but seeing Yang Yueran’s frown he repeated again. "There was really nothing odd. What exactly do you want to find out?"

That’s just a hand with calluses and thinness! Nothing else!

Yang Yueran’s face turned to a deadpan expression but looking at Gu Weiyi, he knew that he was serious.

"...." He couldn’t help but run his palm down his face, feeling speechless and a bit disappointed.

Was that really just an illusion?

But he couldn’t understand the indescribable disappointment. Why was he even disappointed in the first place? And what did he want to expect?

"What’s the matter with this?" Chu Xining voiced his doubts at the action of their leader.

Yang Yueran shook his head slightly and he subconsciously rubbed his thumb on the golden-ring earring on his left ear.

"You’re rubbing your earring," Chu Xining directly blurted his observation and narrowed his eyes. "Which means you’re lying right now, Brother Yue."

Gu Weiyi straightened his back and leaned his upper body a bit to whisper to him. "Is there something wrong with him?" He was obviously pertaining to Feng Rouyun but he didn’t answer them.

It’s also better that he’ll keep it on his mind because he doesn’t even know if what he felt was real. It’ll only cause another trouble in the group.

That doesn’t mean he cares for Feng Rouyun but he knows that the company will do something again beyond what they want if they continue resisting their decision.

Evening came silently for Feng Rouyun. He stayed in his room and only went out when he felt thirsty and hungry. As for the other three, he could hear them playing inside Chu Xining’s room but he didn’t care anyway.

He just continued staying inside his room and watched the music videos again and again and searched for information related to them.

Feng Rouyun also looked at different groups to acquire more knowledge about his new identity while taking down notes in his notebook.

But he has a little headache from that method. His handwriting wasn’t even that beautiful because he was used to using his mental power in documenting something. Writing has been just an old tradition in the past and even though he knew how to write, his penmanship doesn’t say so.

Furthermore, the original Feng Rouyun doesn’t study well either. For him, finding a job as fast as he could is more important than anything else.

Thus when he began taking notes, he was very slow and unskilled. His strokes are messy and the language was even more complicated to write so what can he do? Sister Ru also told him to think about his future signature so he has been practicing too.

It’s just that the results for now didn’t satisfy him.

On the brighter side, he found this writing relaxing. Just silently stroking one by one and copying clears his messy mood and calms him down. Feng Rouyun fell in love with this new little hobby so he just keeps practicing and practicing while also learning as much as he can.

He didn’t even notice the time until he heard a knock again on his door and Chu Xining’s voice sounded outside.

"Sister Ru is here and brought us dinner. Come out!" The young man sounded impatient and he heard his footsteps going away before he could even say anything.

Feng Rouyun once again didn’t mind and just kept his things properly.

"Sister Ru," he greeted her politely with a soft smile on his face. His mood also lightens upon seeing her. Her presence really made him sigh in relief.

He just felt that her care is somehow the same as many in his past life. They all keep on worrying him non-stop and his heart feels warmth with this.

"Ah, Xiaoyun! Here let’s eat!" Ru Anyan grabbed him enthusiastically in the living room and let him sit with her. Feng Rouyun nodded and even accepted her new way of calling him naturally.

Gu Weiyi looked at her attitude and was speechless. He really didn’t know why she’s so enthusiastic with this new kid? Aren’t they all the same a few days ago? She was with them trashing him! Why did she flip so fast?!

Sister Ru, isn’t your face hurt?! You turn yourself so eagerly!

What’s even more was that she even began putting dishes on Feng Rouyun’s plate non-stop while nagging again.

"You should eat this well. Vegetables and meat are a good combination!" She put vegetable salad on his plate and also put the bite size fried chickens. She also grabbed the sauce packet and put it on his side!

And that’s even his favorite honey mustard! That’s clearly his usual pick that she won’t move before!

Feng Rouyun smiled and accepted her service naturally and the atmosphere around them is very contrasting to the three of them who’s just silently looking at them with all complex expressions on their faces.
