Chapter 36: Concept Trailer

The first bed was zoomed and they saw Yang Yueran on it. They were all wearing just plain white hospital pajamas and pants and bare-face but the man still managed to exude that familiar intimidating aura from a leader. There was even a small cut on his left brow and his lips were also a bit dry but the striking sharp features on him completely erased any possible weak sense.

Yang Yueran was peacefully sleeping and the camera moved towards his long veiny hands. Then on his fifth little finger, a red thread appears. It slowly circles on his finger before the strand stretches longer towards the next bed not far away.

It creeps upward and also forms a small circle on someone’s little finger. The camera zoomed out and they saw Gu Weiyi. In contrast to Yang Yueran’s intimidating aura and sharp features, Gu Weiyi’s upturned eyelids that even when close, his fox-like temperament couldn’t hide it. He looks extremely fair even with him wearing plain white and as of now, his hair was dyed red brown, making his appearance more fascinating.

The next thing happened again to Chu Xining and when it finished, the audience watched the red thread stretched longer towards the last remaining bed, the fourth one where Feng Rouyun lay.

Ever since, no one knew his appearance and thus many of them were actually just blind guessing. What kind of person is he? Was he like the other three too? Is his temperament and personality the same as how Ellipsis is? And most especially, does he look good?

It sounds dumbfounding but the three were known for their good appearance too. It’s like an additional package bonus for their group to catch more fans so most people are expecting this new one.

They watch intently as the red thread continues to stretch longer and longer until it finally reaches on an unfamiliar hand.

That hand was fair and slender, his wrists were thinner than the other three and they could even see the small red and blue veins on his hand. It was only that part of his body but it subconsciously made their eyes glued especially when the red thread finally encircled his finger and stopped. The hand that was smaller and thinner, just this one immediately tells everyone that it’s unlikely that Feng Rouyun is the same as the members.

They were even more expecting to see the new guy’s full appearance but just as they thought it would, footsteps were heard right beside the hand. It was the familiar young man in a white coat earlier. They saw him stretching his hand holding a syringe with an unknown blue liquid inside. The camera flashed and they saw his finger slowly push the plunger, making that blue liquid go down probably inside Feng Rouyun’s body.

"!!!" Didn’t they hear a conversation earlier saying that the ’patients’ are doing fine and their plans are almost complete?! Then what is he doing?! What was that liquid?!

And just judging how he was humiliated earlier and his actions right now were odd, it’s clear that he was doing something suspicious to the patient!

Just as they cursed this misfortune, that red alarm started ringing sharply again. This made the man subconsciously drop the syringe and they heard his footsteps running away.

The scene also flashed and the three members woke up from the noise. Listening to the noise and chaos around them, they looked at each other before quickly removing the dextrose on their hands.

Chu Xining was fast and got up from the bed. He was about to go to others when he spotted someone not moving on the side. He was confused and was about to run towards and wake him up when Gu Weiyi already ran to him and forced him to run away.

Chu Xining was bewildered and couldn’t break free so he could only turn his head towards that bed. His eyes flashed with worry and the young man’s side profile was the last thing that he saw before he was completely pulled away.

The screen went blank and back again and in the next second, they saw those familiar shots from the previous album that Ellipsis did. From the first album, the small clips were like showing them the summary journey of the three vigilantes. They saw them fight towards many people, had scars and wounds with blood stained on their hands.

But this time, they also saw something strange.

From every Ellipsis’s music videos, they always showed them as undefeated. They were like someone who always shines with every journey they went. Although even with wounds, they will always have the victory. It actually wasn’t suspicious at first but right now when those shots are played one by one and continuously, flaws are seen.

For example, how did Yang Yueran know that the enemies were planning to ambush them inside the inn they’re resting in? Or how did Chu Xining suddenly know the traitor when there’s no sign? And even how did Gu Weiyi snatch an item from someone that was supposed to run away from afar? How did they do all of these when even as vigilantes, they’re still human.

An ordinary one— but, were they?

"Another two hours after and the initial waiting for any possible issue is over! Which means that our plans are successful!"

"These patients are truly perfect indeed! They are such wonderful creations that will surely bring honor and power to this world!"

Plans? Patients? Wonderful creations? Honor and power? Weren’t those words from that Professor now sound odd? He wasn’t just totally saying that they’re treating someone but rather experimenting! That was a laboratory from the start!

Yang Yueran and others were patient!

And given by the ’inhuman’ knowledge and strategies that they could make, it’s obvious that their abilities from that experiment are far more than this!

The audience’s eyes went wide from that realization but before they could ponder even more, a scene flashed again.

They saw someone standing just beside a large tree. Because the location was in the forest and it’s even at night, they couldn’t see it properly. He was merely standing under that tree and all they could see was he’s wearing a large black hooded cloak. Seconds later, he slowly walked outside that tree until his hoodie was lit by the moon’s light.

A strong wind also brushed his cloak and it unexpectedly lifted the cover on his face.

That young man was very unfamiliar and was wearing a cloth mask. Yet even so, they could see his curly blonde hair sway against the wind. His eyelashes were long and the skin that was illuminated by the moon were delicate and somehow gave them a sense of serene and quietness.

But the most eye-catching thing was the striking ocean blue eyes that were staring straight at the camera.

"!!!!"

That was Feng Rouyun, the new member of Ellipsis.
