Chapter 22: Actor

Wei Zhenyuan lowered his head and glanced at his two palms.

He could still feel how his body gradually turned cold on his palms. He couldn’t hear any breathing nor feel the pulse on his wrist— all that was left was the rusty smell from the blood the latter coughed.

"Hm," Director Jiang didn’t say anything afterwards and continued staring at him. The latter was blatantly gazing up and down as if he was looking something on him. Wei Zhenyuan frowned but he didn’t show it on his face out of respect because from his memory, this man helped him for this chance.

He could sense the confusion but it was replaced by something delightful as if he realized something that Wei Zhenyuan couldn’t understand.

"Zhenyuan, have you finally caught up?!" Director Jiang even sounded a bit excited as he looked at him.

He was confused. "Director, what do you mean?"

"Aya!" Director Jiang grinned and even playfully patted his shoulder. "Don’t be shy! You’ve finally thought about the script, that’s why you’re very different today!"

"...." Wei Zhenyuan didn’t still understand what he was saying but the old man just waved his hand at everyone.

"Everyone, let’s prepare for scene 35 today! Prepare for 20 minutes!"

Scene 35? Isn’t that Wei Zhenyuan’s part? But isn’t the man not even ready yet? That’s the thought everyone had yet they have to choose but to quickly prepare scenes and assemble. Fortunately, the last scene was just connected to the new part so the set-up was already almost ready.

Only hearing those words that he understood. Director Jiang was talking about the character that the original Wei Zhenyuan had. That role was named General Hou Yan, who was the eldest brother of the male lead of the movie Hou Lishen.

Meanwhile, the female lead is the only daughter of the Emperor. But since it was the time where sons are favored and girls are isolated, the female lead Su Jiao was neglected. Hou Lishen was assigned to kill the Crown Prince. To do this, he had to pretend to be a worker at the palace but was caught by Su Jiao. Yet rather than telling everyone, she chose silence and let Hou Lishen do his job, although she showed a bit resistance to kill the Crown Prince, making a deal with him to kill the Emperor instead.

Hou Lishen’s interest was of course intrigued and just the rest as history.

General Hou Yan’s role was mainly something that protected Hou Lishen from getting arrested for his identity. He helped the latter hide his real identity and was able to persuade him to quit that job and became a soldier upright, not only to gain merits but also to have the most worthy position to marry Su Jiao.

In this scene, General Hou was leading another battle again in the frontline. There will be a short scene about his win.

So Wei Zhenyuan has to execute as perfectly as possible to be like a real soldier in a battle. There will be a bloody fighting scene and some rough action scenes to perform.

"What is it?" he asked with a frown.
