I listened silently.

I watched Kash pour his heart out, turning to Lara as if to show he had already moved on. A little too quickly.

It was honestly heartbreaking.

I felt a pain inside me that I could not even express. I remained silent because I had to. There was nothing I could say.

They had seen all the evidence. They called me names, things I was afraid my children might hear, afraid they would hate me for it.

But what hurt the most was the anger in Kash’s eyes.

He knew I had loved him deeply and unconditionally. And I knew he had loved me too.

But today, when he spoke to me, there was no love in his voice. That was understandable.

He thought I had cheated on him. He believed I had cheated on him.

When he finally made his threat, he turned to look at Lara, who was standing beside the car.

Then she quickly forced a sad expression onto her face because Kash was not looking at her.

It felt as if I had lost all sense of time.

Kash pushed me away, then lifted his hand toward Lara, who was too eager to take it. She grabbed his hand and rushed into his chest as he hugged her in front of me.

I stood there alone, shaking.

The rain began to pour, and I was still wearing Markus’s dirty clothes, trembling under the cold rain, my eyes burning with tears as I watched Kash.

"Come on. You need to sit inside. You’ll get cold."

The same Kash who used to worry about me was now caring only for Lara.

He gently pulled her closer. Then he cupped her face in his hands and kissed her head.

All of it happened in front of me.

He thought that whipping me or leaving me alone would be the worst punishment. It was not.

Watching him pour love onto Lara, knowing I would not see him or my children again, was worse.

He sat her down in the car. Then he grabbed my hand and dragged me mercilessly toward the cabin, the mountain prison.

The warriors were already there, waiting.

I had heard about these prisons. They could drive even a sane person insane. The endless loneliness. The torture.

I had heard that you had to perform tasks to earn anything. Otherwise, you would have to stand in the corner, not even allowed to sit.

Once you completed a task, you could ask for one favor, either an hour of sleep or permission to use the restroom.

He opened the door and shoved me inside. Then he slammed it shut.

I rushed to the door and began knocking on it gently.

"Don’t do this to me. I did not do anything. Kash," I screamed.

But my voice came out shaky and weak, breaking before it could grow louder.

There were no windows. Nothing. Just pitch black darkness.

I ran my hand along the wall until I found the switch and turned on the light.

It did not make much difference.

The cabin was so isolated that I could hear the rain as if it were falling directly onto my skull.

It was one empty room.

In the corner lay a thin sheet where I was supposed to sleep, if I completed the tasks.

There was also a small bathroom that I would only be allowed to use if a warrior permitted it.

I heard the car start again.

Soon, I realized I had been left there alone.

Completely alone.

I let out a cry and slid down against the wall, crouching with my face in my hands.

"Amy, Colin" I called, and then I started crying loudly. "My babies," I added.

"Kash," I whispered, saying his name while crying alone.

Then a strange wave of nausea hit me.

I got up and rushed to the bathroom, slamming the door open, stepping inside, and throwing up in the sink.

When I raised my head, I saw in the mirror that the cabin door had opened and the warriors were stepping inside.

They were about to tell me the rules.

I turned around and straightened my back, facing the warriors.

"What? What are you looking at?" I screamed.

They exchanged glances before stepping forward.

"Um, we just wanted to give you the basic rundown," one of the warriors spoke softly. "Anyway, Kash will come back to punish you himself."

My jaw dropped.

"Really? Will he bring an audience?" I asked, stepping out of the bathroom and slamming my hand against the door.

It hurt badly.

I was so fucking angry.

"Will he bring that fucking Markus with him? Because if he does, I will claw his face. How the fuck did he think he could play me?" I screamed.

Like I said, my emotions were all over the place.

The warriors looked at each other again.

"Well, he will be back," one of them responded.

"I have a request," I uttered, suddenly calming down because anger would not help me at this point.

"Well, you can make requests right now. Your punishment will begin after Alpha King Kash’s arrival," the warrior explained, his hands folded in front of his abdomen.

"Sure," I replied, rolling my eyes. "I want you to get me a pregnancy test."

I straightened my posture and looked around the empty room.

One of the warriors noticed and cleared his throat.

"I’ll get you a chair and a sofa bed. But you have to stay like this for now," he added.

Then they walked away silently.

I began pacing around the room.

All these years, I had been nothing but kind to these people, and they had planned this entire game against me. That only proved they were never going to change.

Lara had been so happy when she got Kash’s attention.

After a few minutes, the warrior returned with a pregnancy test. He handed it to me, and I stared at it.

I remembered the nights after my return, after Kash returned and gave me the medicine before we slept together.

It had been just over a month. But before, this was how it happened with me.

I started showing signs quickly.

I was a lycan. It was different.

We conceived very quickly. And the signs appeared quickly too.

I went into the bathroom and took the test.

When I came out, I placed it on the ground and sat in the corner, staring at it.

Then, just as I had suspected, two lines appeared.
