"Lara, stop." I raised my voice to get her attention. Placing my hand on her forearm,"We are leaving," I told her

She pulled her arm away as if I had offended her.

"I’m fine, relax. It’s just dancing," she hissed, tossing her hair as if she had finally won something.

"Lara, we have decided to leave," I stated firmly, not looking at the man beside her who was touching her everywhere, on her arms, on her waist, even on her hips.

She never stopped him, and I could tell she was not drunk at all.

Maybe one drink, but she was fully aware.

She faced me with a tired look.

"We are not leaving, okay? We are just starting to have fun. Come on, loosen up a bit," she remarked with a disgusted look, as if I was ruining her moment.

The man who had been dancing with her and groping her shifted his attention to me.

Out of nowhere, he grabbed my wrist before I could step back.

His fingers squeezed a little too hard, and his unpleasant smile made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Then he leaned in close, sniffing my hair. I tried to push him away, but he was so strong that he held me in place.

"Your friend here is quite spunky," he said to Lara, who had started to dance again while standing in place.

"But she is very uptight. Why don’t you help her loosen up a bit?" Lara commented, making my jaw drop.

She knew I was not willingly being held by this man, but she did not care.

She kept dancing around.

"Huh, uptight? A girl who shows up this beautifully dressed is clearly asking for someone to notice her," he remarked, tugging my hand toward him.

I jerked my arm, but his grip tightened. Lara, still dancing, kept one eye on us while pretending not to notice.

"Let me go," I hissed, hating the way his thumb brushed against my pulse.

"Come on, sweetheart, don’t act all shy. I know your tight little pussy wants me tonight."

As soon as he said that and chuckled, he pulled me over him and grabbed my dress.

Before I could free myself, he had snuck his hand up my dress and held onto the waistband of my underwear.

The way his fingertips brushed against my skin filled me with disgust.

Tears instantly gathered in my eyes as I began to protest, trying to push him off me.

I could hear people around us laughing as if it were something amusing, while I struggled to get this man away from me.

Then a sudden force struck the side of his jaw, and the sound echoed sharply across the dance floor.

The man flew sideways and crashed into one of the tables, sending glasses and plates clattering onto the ground.

As gasps filled the room, the music abruptly stopped.

All eyes were now on Kash, who stood in front of me, breathing like an angry bull with his fists clenched.

With one hand, he tore off his mask and threw it at the man before lunging at him like a giant attacking something much smaller.

His shoulders were tense, and his muscles were so defined it looked as if he had fought the entire night.

"Don’t you touch her again!" he growled as he grabbed the man by the collar and landed another punch straight to his cheek.

The man fell again, barely catching himself before Kash pulled him up only to slam him against the wall.

He looked like a giant holding a tiny man.

Several guests started to whimper, covering their mouths.

Some women clung to their partners as they watched a furious man slam another helpless man against the wall and across the floor.

Others whispered to each other, their attention fixed on the sight of Alpha King Kash losing control in public.

I could hear people recognizing him.

The man tried to protest, but Kash struck him again, this time in the ribs, forcing out a choked breath.

I could tell he was losing more control with every punch that landed.

He shoved the man one last time and let him collapse to the ground.

Then he turned toward the crowd.

"Did none of you see that he was touching her against her will?" he shouted, and everyone stepped back, afraid they might be the next to face his anger.

The moment his eyes landed on me, they softened, though he was still breathing heavily.

"Are you hurt?" he asked in a low, concerned voice, stepping toward me with that strong, confident walk that came with every shift of his shoulders.

As he reached me, he took off his coat and placed it over my shoulders.

Everyone watched silently, and Lara stood frozen a few feet away, shock written across her face.

"Let’s go home," he whispered to me, gently touching my chin with his firm finger.

At that moment, I let him guide me outside. He wrapped his arm around me and helped me out.

The moment we stepped out of the bar, the cold night air brushed against my skin.

My hands were still shaking from the entire encounter.

The man’s smirk and the way he touched me still lingered in my mind.

He kept his arm around my back as if guiding me away from danger.

Once we were outside, he sat me down at the entrance because I could not walk anymore.

My knees were too weak and shaking too much. He sat beside me and cupped my face with both his hands.

His thumb brushed the sides of my cheeks, checking for any marks.

His eyes scanned me slowly, almost as if he were upset that he had let me out of his sight even for a few seconds.

I swallowed hard when he leaned in close and rested his forehead against mine for a brief moment, giving me so much comfort.

I lifted my eyes because refusing did not seem possible at the moment.

He exhaled softly and picked up a small bottle of water that one of the warriors had rushed over to offer us.

He opened the cap with one quick twist and brought it to my lips.

His hand was steady while mine trembled slightly as I took a sip.

"Don’t worry, I am here now," he whispered quietly. His hand moved from my face to my shoulder, rubbing my arms in slow strokes.

Before I could answer, the bar’s door opened again, and this time Lara burst out so angry, as if she were about to charge at me.
