Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins

"Guys, what the fuck is wrong with her lycan? Just tell her already," I muttered.

I had to jump in because even I was growing impatient for her.

She looked at me with a sad expression, then looked back at them, almost as if telling them I was right.

"My daughter, your lycan—" her father started, stepping closer after James gave a small nod and patting her back, "is the fiercest lycan I have seen in the lycan community."

As her father explained, both Iris and I let out an exhale, then turned to look at the two of them with puzzled expressions.

"You cannot do that," Iris told him playfully as she grabbed her father’s hands and shook them before hugging him again.

Everyone started to laugh.

Walken looked as lost as I was.

I mean, we did not know much about lycans, but she definitely looked huge and powerful.

After that, she gave Walkin a nod of thanks. I stood there, waiting, a little tense, expecting my turn.

She finally turned toward me. I opened my arms, ready to pull her in.

She stopped suddenly and grimaced her nose.

"Eh," she grunted, stepping away instead.

I blinked and glanced at the others. James and Walkin were clearly trying not to smile.

"What do you mean by ’eh’?" I asked, frowning.

"I’m not giving you a hug. You don’t deserve one," she said, rolling her eyes before turning back toward her father.

"Why not?" I pressed.

She let out a long sigh and put her hands on her waist. "Don’t you know why?"

I stared at her, then looked away with a quiet exhale. I had wanted that hug more than I cared to admit, but I had hurt her. I would have to earn my place back with her, step by step.

Still, my thoughts drifted to the pearl. Once she took it, everything would settle. I was sure of it. And tonight, I planned to make that happen.

"Let’s go home. I want to be with my kids. I also want to get back to my routine so I can learn to communicate with my lycan," Iris said, her voice bright with relief.

When she looked at me, she forced a small frown, like she had to remind herself she was still mad.

"By the way, I wanted to thank you, Alpha King Kash, for making such a safe place for my daughter to transition,"

Her father turned to me with a look of appreciation that made Iris turn slightly toward me before looking away.

"Of course I was going to do that. She’s my wife. I love her the most," I replied.

As soon as I said that, I watched Iris’s body twitch slightly, as if she noticed everything, but my words were too heavy and did not carry much weight for her because of obvious reasons.

"Anyways, I’m just saying all this because I really want you to understand that we lycans don’t have a problem with werewolves. I mean, we did not have a problem with werewolves until that one incident," her father continued.

I was already listening closely because I knew what incident he was referring to.

"You don’t have to say that. I know. It is the incident where a woman was killed," I answered calmly, with Walkin standing right beside me and the three lycans across from us, facing us.

It was Iris whose throat clearing cut me off.

"Not just anyone," she muttered, playing with her fingers before turning her head to look at her father, as if asking for permission to speak.

"Go ahead," her father replied.

Both Walkin and I shared a confused glance.

"It wasn’t just any woman. The woman who was tortured in the werewolf community was my aunt," Iris explained.

For the first few seconds, I did not even gasp.

Then my entire body shook.

I felt so guilty in front of them that I wanted to dig a hole for Walkin and me and just bury ourselves in it.

"How come I did not know about it?" I asked Iris, not in a complaining tone, but thinking it would have been nice if I had known earlier.

I would have been more careful around her, but then again, how would I have known she was a lycan? I had just found out.

"Well, for starters, I could not even tell you I was a lycan because I did not even have a lycan with me," she replied calmly. This was the first time she had spoken this calmly to me in a long time.

"It happened in the past, but I am glad you are not like others. However, I do not know how they will treat my daughter when they find out she is a lycan. I mean, Lara’s father still holds a lot of power. Over time, he has made many alliances, and they will be more than willing to hurt my daughter with just one gesture," Iris’s father explained, giving me a brief overview of everything.

We stayed there for a few seconds, listening to how much they had suffered, before it was decided that we would keep Iris’s secret for now.

"I am telling you right now that her father may have a lot of influence, but I have the power and the crown now, so do not worry. Not a single bit of harm will come to Iris. Not while I am alive. They will have to kill me if they want to harm even a hair on her head," I said confidently to her father, giving him my word.

As I spoke and mentioned my possible death, I saw Iris look deeply concerned. It was clear that it still bothered her, and I knew it did.

I stepped closer and gently wrapped my arm around her back while the others walked ahead. For a moment, she resisted. Then I felt her shift slightly toward me, her shoulder brushing my chest in what felt like a stolen hug.

It caught me off guard. Even angry, she still reached for me in small ways. I rubbed her back without thinking.

She immediately slapped my hand away and lifted her head.

"No," she said firmly, then walked ahead to join her father.

I let out a quiet laugh under my breath as I followed.

Soon she would take the pearl, and everything would fall into place.
