"I do not know if I should be saying all this."

I paused, and she instantly reached for my hand, giving it a squeeze to let me know she would never judge me and that I could be as honest as possible.

"Here are my thoughts. Since I have lived with an alpha father and had my fair share in pack affairs, I have realized that Iris and her family’s actions are absurd," I said, watching Lady Vivian slowly withdraw her hand.

Seeing her look so scared was going to help me in the long run.

She needed to understand the urgency of getting rid of Iris instead of sitting and waiting for an opportunity to appear.

"First Iris showed up. Then her mother. Now suddenly her father is here. Do you not think she is bringing her family here one by one to observe everything around us? And let us not forget that the East is not very friendly with us."

I paused, took a deep breath, and shook my head as if I were worried about our pack’s future.

"It seems to me that Iris was planted in Kash’s life to slowly invade his territory and his mind, and she has done it perfectly."

I continued explaining, watching Lady Vivian’s eyebrows draw together in deep thought.

"If you look at it the way I am saying it, it actually makes sense because..." I paused again, fidgeting with my hands to give the impression that I was reconsidering.

"Go ahead," she insisted.

"It seems like her family is working closely with the Alpha King of the East. Otherwise, why would someone want Iris back and have the means to send warriors to fetch her? An omega family does not have that kind of power. That kind of authority belongs to an alpha family. Iris and her family are servants to the alphas, and they are here for a mission. And once they forget about it, the Alpha King sends someone to remind them."

I finished my conspiracy, and Lady Vivian looked stunned.

"Well, if that is the case, then they are going to find out that that little pathetic omega, Iris, is never going to succeed," Lady Vivian grunted with determination.

"You’re right about Zoe as well. I need to put distance between her and Iris before Iris takes control of her the way she has taken control of Kash," Lady Vivian agreed, looking toward the open door and watching Zoe play with the children.

I knew Lady Vivian loved Kash’s children, but that would be easy for me to make her forget once my baby was born and Iris was gone.

Iris’s children would definitely become a nuisance. They would keep asking for their mother. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

As we were talking, Markus returned, and I watched Lady Vivian’s eyes narrow at the sight of him.

He did not even spare Zoe a glance, even though she was smiling at him and gesturing for him to join their game.

"Come on, Markus, play with us, please," Zoe insisted, making me glance between her and her mother to catch her reaction.

Her mother was definitely noticing Markus’s behavior toward Zoe, even if Zoe was not.

Markus did not even spare her a glance. He simply waved his hand to dismiss her.

It was so disrespectful that Zoe’s smile faded for a few seconds, but it returned when the children clung to her legs, giving her hope.

She began to giggle again, and I rolled my eyes discreetly.

What was so special about children anyway?

I mean, yes, they were family, but that was it.

Instead, he strode toward the guest house.

He entered and gave a brief nod to Lady Vivian before heading to his room.

"And we also have to make sure he is not listening to Iris."

I noticed that Lady Vivian was still not giving me her full attention because her eyes kept shifting between Markus and her daughter.

"Why would he listen to her, though?" Lady Vivian asked softly, still watching the door Markus had disappeared through.

"Well, do we not know Iris’s history with men? She knows how to control them."

The moment I said that, Lady Vivian snapped her head toward me, her eyes filled with confusion.

"What do you mean by that?" she asked.

"Oh, you do not know?" I replied, taking a deep breath and shaking my head as if it were difficult for me to say.

"Have you not noticed? He has been looking at Iris, and she has been giving him those... I do not know, puppy eyes. I should not say it. Please, just forget I mentioned it."

I instantly shifted away from Lady Vivian as if I felt guilty for even suggesting it.

I only needed to plant a small doubt in her mind. I would watch that seed grow into a tree that would fall on Iris and crush her beneath it.

"I really do not want to talk about it. I mean, if anybody hears, they will call me a liar. There is always conflict between me and Iris over Kash, so I will be seen as someone deliberately saying things that make no sense. And besides, if you have not noticed anything, then I should not be talking about it." I explained, shaking my head to show I was too afraid to delve into the topic.

"No one will hear that you mentioned it. Tell me, what is it? What have you noticed?" Lady Vivian insisted, her tone more aggressive this time.

"No, Lady Vivian. I just wanted you to know that we should care for Zoe and make sure nobody steals her happiness or her life," I finished.

But I knew it was not over.

I had stirred so much agitation in her that she would not rest until she discussed it with me and pulled every piece of information out of me.

"Steal her happiness?" Lady Vivian repeated, tears of fear forming in her eyes as she realized Zoe might be Iris’s next target.
