My breath hitched as I found myself pinned under him. For a brief moment, my body froze. His scent so warm and familiar hit me all at once, flooding my senses. I swallowed hard, forcing myself to wake up. This wasn’t the time to lose control.

We struggled silently as I tried to escape his hold, and he fought to keep my wrists restrained. Finally, he managed to pin my hands near my head on either side of me, and we both froze.

I was breathing heavily, while his eyes bore into mine.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not here to talk about us," I replied, struggling to maintain my composure as his body pressed against mine and I felt his arousal against my thigh.

"Then why are you here?" he asked, his voice strained.

"To---," I tried to speak, but he buried his face in my neck, causing me to lose my breath once again. His lips touched my skin, and his nose brushed against my neck as he sniffed deeply, as if savoring my scent.

"What are you doing?" I asked timidly, feeling unable to push him away, and even more frustrated that I didn’t try. I allowed him to remain on top of me, feeling his cock against my thighs.

He didn’t respond, continuing to inhale my scent, even reaching my chest. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as his lips grazed my bare, swollen breasts outside of my gown. He paused there, his heavy breathing causing his dick to twitch once more.

He lifted his face from my neck, staring at me for a moment before grunting and awkwardly attempting to get off me. I also struggled to push him away.

"What are you doing here?" he grumbled, clearing his throat.

"I came to talk to you," I replied, my voice heavy with confusion.

"At this hour?" he complained, not meeting my gaze for a moment.

"You really shouldn’t come into my room like that," he grunted, making me awkwardly get out of the bed from the other side while fixing my nightgown.

I felt so embarrassed, and it was strange, because the same man I was now shy and uncomfortable around was the one I had once shared a bed with.

"I’m not the one who dragged myself into your bed," I shot back instantly, turning around to see him getting up. He was only in his shorts, so I quickly turned away again.

"And you’re the one who told your guards not to convey my message, so I had to come myself to speak with you," I added awkwardly, rubbing my hands together anxiously.

"Well, if it makes you feel any safer, I didn’t think it was you," he snapped. I glanced from the corner of my eye to see if he had put on his clothes, and once I was sure he had, I turned around to face him.

"Yeah, it’s true. I didn’t think it was you. I thought it was Lara," he said, throwing that right in my face. He had put on a black shirt over his shorts, looking smug as he said it.

"Well, then you should keep her very close, so next time you don’t mistake me for her and drag me into your bed," I hissed, my voice sharp with anger and a sting of hurt.

"Yeah, I’m going to keep her close—very close to me. I’m gonna marry her soon. Then I’ll take her on a honeymoon, and my kids will come along."

At this point, he was just talking nonsense. Honestly, I was too tired to argue with him right then.

"What were you here for?" he asked, placing his hands on his waist. He looked genuinely upset that I had come and disturbed him.

"Well, since you were so eager to let the kids know you’re their father, now they’ve been asking for you at bedtime. So tell me, how the heck do I deal with that?" I snapped, my fists clenched.

But I noticed the angry expression slowly fade from his face.

"Oh, they’ve been asking for me?" he asked, almost too proudly. "Well then, step out of my way. Stop wasting my time. I’d rather go take care of my kids than stand here arguing with you," he added with a smug look, striding toward the door.

I quickly followed him because I didn’t want to be left behind.

Once I was following him outside his mansion and toward the guesthouse, I realized how awkward the walk was. I was no longer the timid, loving, wife of Kash. I had turned bitter because of him.

He slowed down and then grunted.

"I just hope I don’t run into that fucking boyfriend of yours. I’m in no mood to see any fuckers," he muttered harshly, making my jaw drop in shock.
