From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

"Master, see if anyone with the Dark Lord is leaving or doing anything unusual. This Huo Ren Yi seems to be baiting me, buying time for someone else."

Zhang Yi Nian heard what Lin Fan said and he looked at those that were with the Dark Lord.

And Lin Fan was correct as he saw the old man looking suspicious and he slowly walked away from the crowd.

"One of the old men is leaving. I shall follow him, join me if you can," Zhang Yi Nian replied with the voice transmitting jade pendant.

He briefed Qing Yang Zi and Zhao Qing Ying on what had happened.

They nodded and Zhang Yi Nian quickly followed the old man.

Lin Fan stood outside the room and walked about.

Making footstep noises.

He used the Resonant Echo ability to record the noise and planted it outside the door.

The noise then played endlessly.

Lin Fan even added in the voice of female disciples from the Yi Mei Sect intermittently.

When he was done, he quickly left and took out the voice transmitting jade pendant.

"Master, where are you?" Lin Fan asked.

"The old man is moving towards the guest hall that we were in just now," Zhang Yi Nian said and Lin Fan leaped with his Skybound Stride ability.

Tat.

Tat.

Huo Ren Yi heard Lin Fan's footsteps getting closer and closer.

He directed his Qi, getting ready for Lin Fan to enter the room so he could take Lin Fan down.

But the footstep sound started to walk away again.

"Has he found out that I'm waiting to ambush him?" Huo Ren Yi frowned and waited.

In the open square, the matches were still going on.

Some defeated candidates had their heads low, and they peeped at 'Zhao Jia Rui' sitting beside Mei Hong periodically.

They had no chance now and the only thing they could do was to try and have a glimpse at 'Zhao Jia Rui' behind the white veil.

"Next match, young master from Lee Clan versus young master Yuwen from the Seven Beasts Gang."

The judge announced the next match and the Dark Lord, now known as young master Lee, stepped into the ring.

"Who is he?"

"Anyone knows where he's from?"

"Nah. Never heard of him. Must be someone from the villages trying their luck."

"Huh. Naive."

The young masters and other candidates shook their heads and watched.

This young master Lee would be lucky if he survived half an incense time in the fighting ring.

Young master Yuwen thought the same thing and he smirked at the Dark Lord.

In the Core Formation Level, he was undefeated.

There's not going to be any chance that he would be defeated by an unknown.

"Let the match begin!"

The judge announced the start of the match and flagged his hand down.

Whoosh.

Young master Yuwen threw out several punches at the Dark Lord.

Thud.

To his surprise, the Dark Lord didn't flinch an inch and took all the blows onto his body.

The other young masters shook their heads at the Dark Lord.

What an amateur, they thought.

"Argh."

To their surprise, young master Yuwen was the one crying out loud in pain.

His arms limp to the side of his body and his fists were now a mangled mass of flesh and bones.

Some of the bones could even be seen protruding out of the flesh.

"What? Yuwen has been undefeated within the Core Formation Level so far."

"Some even say he can defeat those from the Nascent Soul level."

"But how?"

The young masters and candidates couldn't wrap their minds as to what had happened.

They saw the Dark Lord slowly raise his hand and clench it into a fist.

Pulling back his fist, the Dark Lord got ready to punch at young master Yuwen.

"No. Spare me. Help!" Young master Yuwen turned and looked at the judge, trying his best to stop the Dark Lord.

But the Dark Lord just ignored his plea, and his fist turned into metallic form.

Splatter. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

The Dark Lord's fist punched through the chest of young master Yuwen and came out from the back of young master Yuwen.

And in his hand was the still throbbing heart of young master Yuwen.

Squish.

The Dark Lord smirked and clenched his fingers tight, squishing the heart into pieces.

"Young master!" The servants and relatives from young master Yuwen shouted.

"Do you have to go this far? Just for a woman to kill our young master!"

They pointed at the Dark Lord, and they shouted.

The judge and the disciples from Yi Mei Sect quickly stood between them and the Dark Lord.

It was a battle to the death and any mishaps were expected.

Knowing that they didn't have anything to stand on, since it was a battle to the death, the servants and relatives of young master Yuwen stepped back and stared at the Dark Lord.

If they couldn't take care of you here, they would do it when you leave the Yi Mei Sect. They thought silently when they retreated.

Mei Hong sensed something but couldn't figure it out.

She thought she saw the Dark Lord's fist turned metallic for a moment.

Which was a signature move from her senior martial sister from years ago.

But she was expelled from the sect, after she went on a killing spree murdering men, and had never been seen ever since.

Did she hallucinate?

Mei Hong shook her head and thought that it must have been the stress arranging for this marriage.

Menial disciples from the Yi Mei Sect proceeded to move the body of young master Yuwen away and cleared up the mess in the fighting ring.

When they were done, the matches continued.

The judge stood in the middle of the fighting ring again and raised her hands.

"Next match, Hu Ge from the Hu Clan versus..." The judge paused for a moment to confirm what was written on the matchup board was correct.

After a moment of confirmation, the judge continued, "Lin Fan from the Qing Feng Sect."

Qing Yang Zi nearly spat out the tea that he had in his mouth.
