From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

They leaped into the air and then disappeared out of sight.

A familiar sound erupted in Lin Fan's mind.

[Terminate assassins with malevolent intent for 3000 vengeance points.]

The next moment, they appeared near Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian, who were standing in front of Lin Fan.

Lin Fan saw them lunge at Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian.

"Get down!" Lin Fan shouted and they got down onto the ground.

Activating his Volcanic Roar, Lin Fan roared at the assassins.

They tried to disappear, but it wasn't enough for them to escape the intense heat and molten embers.

"Argh!" Their clothes burned and so did their skin.

Molten embers also hit and stuck onto them, slowly burning through their flesh.

It caused them to try and get away.

But Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian had gotten up and were ready to deal with them.

With one of his swords, Ho Ming thrust it at one of the assassins.

The twirling wind that shot out from his sword drilled into the assassin's chest.

Zhang Yi Nian punched at the other assassin in front of him.

Boom.

His Qi wave ripped through the shoulder of the assassin.

Clank.

The hand of the assassin dropped onto the ground as it was detached from the assassin's shoulder.

Seeing what had happened, the remaining assassin took out a packet and threw it into the air.

Red powder came out of it and filled the air. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Don't breathe in the red powder," Lin Fan said and he pulled Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian back.

He figured the red powder must have been something poisonous.

And he exhaled a puff of dark smoke from his mouth.

The assassins also thought the same about his dark smoke and they leaped away from Lin Fan.

Lin Fan turned into a mist and followed them.

They panicked when they saw a mist chasing closely behind them.

"Run in separate paths!" One of the assassins shouted.

They did so and ran away in separate directions.

Lin Fan followed the assassin who wasn't hurt.

He could track and take care of the other two later.

The assassin turned back and tried to slash his sword at the mist.

But it didn't do anything.

When Lin Fan appeared again, he gave out another Volcanic Roar at the assassin.

This time at close range, the assassin felt the heated air at the highest intensity.

Soon, the clothes and skin were burnt.

And on parts of the body, the flesh and bones could be seen after the skin was torn away.

The assassin knelt and dropped to the ground.

Lin Fan leaped down from the top of the small hill as he saw the other two assassins did so.

He saw their blood trails in the snow, and he used his Skybound Stride ability.

Boom.

He got into the air, and he hovered over the vast snowy land.

Two figures were running side by side and their pace was getting slower.

Their wounds had got to them.

Lin Fan leaped and got above them.

And when his hovering time was up, he activated his Inferno Comet ability.

He turned into a fireball and shot onto the ground like a comet.

The two assassins saw their surroundings turn into an orange glow and intense heat came from above.

By the time they looked up, it was already too late for them.

Bam!

A fireball slammed at them and onto the ground.

The two assassins were hurled into the air.

They tried to see where they were about to land, and they couldn't believe their eyes.

A huge crater had formed with magma flowing inside.

Sizzle.

They could feel their bodies plunged into hot magma and before they could do anything they were already carbonized.

Lin Fan quickly got back to the small hill.

He leaped back onto the hilltop where Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian were.

"Who are these assassins? You seemed to be getting more popular by the day," Ho Ming asked.

"I know. But that's not the kind of attention I want," Lin Fan shrugged and said, "I have a hunch of who sent the assassins though."

"Who?" Ho Ming was curious.

"One of the elders that's competing with Guo He Ru, or maybe all the elders are in it together. We'll never know," Lin Fan said.

Zhang Yi Nian crossed his arms and said, "Tan Kun had made the Alchemy Peak into a corrupted place. It takes time to purge out all the evildoers."

"We'll get to it when we get back to Qing Feng Sect. But now..." Lin Fan turned to the stone tablet, and he wanted to continue reading about the Snow Lotus Sword Technique.

Roar.

A loud roar could be heard.

Their fight with the assassins must have attracted some other beings.

"We better move," Zhang Yi Nian suggested.

Ho Ming and Lin Fan nodded.

Their priority for coming to the North Realm was to kill the Nine Headed Hydra for its thousand-year ice venom.

Lin Fan thought about keeping the stone tablet in his storage artifact, but it might not work if the stone tablet was taken out of the North Realm.

Ho Ming came up to him and said, "It's all right, there will be other techniques to be had in the realm. Besides, it might not be as good as what I have now."

With a sigh, Lin Fan agreed with Ho Ming.

You gain some, you lose some.

They continued their journey and if there were any chance that they passed by again, maybe that's when Ho Ming could learn about the Snow Lotus Sword Technique.

After they left, a huge wolf appeared and got near the small hill.

It sniffed around at the blood left on the snow by the assassins.
