From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

Lin Fan went back to the wooden hut and summoned Guo He Ru.

Although he didn't use up much of his Heavenly Rejuvenate Pills, he wanted to be safe and got them replenished.

Guo He Ru didn't disappoint him and got to the wooden hut with a new batch of pills.

"I somehow feel I've made a bad deal with you." Guo He Ru said as he took bottles of pills out from his sleeve pocket.

"You can get out of it. But I can't guarantee your supplies of herbs after that." Lin Fan shrugged and said.

"I was just joking. I'm on the brink though to something new. So don't you dare stop the supplies from the Medicine Valley." Guo He Ru said as he put down the last bottle onto the small table.

He'd never understood why Lin Fan preferred to stay in this small hut.

To each his own, he thought.

Lin Fan was glad on the other hand for his new breakthrough.

"As usual, I'm more than happy to be the first user."

So far, Guo He Ru's talents have proven themselves and he was able to deliver more than what Lin Fan had expected.

He continued and asked, "When will they decide the new Alchemy Peak Lord? You think you have a chance?"

Lin Fan probed for an answer.

He would be more than ready to help Guo He Ru clinch the position of the Alchemy Peak Lord when required.

He already has Ho Ming in Sword Peak, Han Dang was now favorable to him, and Guo He Ru in the Alchemy Peak.

If Guo He Ru was made peak lord, that's a huge bonus for his influence.

"That's where the breakthrough comes in. We are to compete with a new pill, whoever comes out with the best shall be made the Alchemy Peak Lord."

Guo He Ru thumped his chest and continued, "Finally, my talents shall be witnessed by the sect. I shall be made peak lord without any issues."

Lin Fan rolled his eyes at what Guo He Ru said.

By now he was used to his antics.

"I do need something for the breakthrough." Guo He Ru smiled at Lin Fan.

Lin Fan frowned and said, "We have something urgent to attend to first. I will help you with it when we get back."

"I knew I could count on you."

Slap.

Guo He Ru slapped Lin Fan on his back but to his surprise, his palm felt like it hit onto a stone wall.

He cried out and held his hand up to his face.

The palm was now swollen red.

"Ouch… you… I was trying to be friendly, that's what they told me how normal people behaved."

Guo He Ru cursed and bid Lin Fan farewell.

Nightfall.

Lin Fan got up from his bed and looked over at Ho Jie.

Ho Jie was in a slumber, and it was time for him to start work.

He summoned the system's information panel in his mind and looked at it.

"Yes, upgrade Physiques." Lin Fan thought silently.

He immediately felt his soul being torn apart.

Struggling to keep himself from crying out in pain, Lin Fan quickly sat in Lotus Position.

At Nascent Soul Level, his perceptions were enhanced, and he could acutely feel the changes in him.

His muscles were torn and regenerated over and over again.

So too was his dantian, the Qi was unleashed into the surroundings and then refilled with Qi again.

His clothes stuck to his skin as the water in his body was dehydrated.

His muscle mass got to how he was when he started, thin and frail.

Then it all turned back in reverse.

The muscles regenerated, the Qi in the surroundings was absorbed into his dantian and the water had become mist that rose into the air.

Lin Fan saw how much he needed to get to the next level and sighed.

Seeing how far he was his next target was to upgrade the Giant Magma Leopard's ability.

It had proven to be useful in the battles with the Hulu Tribes.

Now that he was at Level 9 Physique, Lin Fan felt that he could take on those that were at Soul Transformation Level or even those at Void Fusion Level.

With the system's level up being exponential, he had expected it.

Lin Fan had gotten outside to wash himself up.

He was tempted to test out how powerful he was now but decided against it.

The following days would certainly be tiring.

Going back to the Artifact Mountains meant that he might have to deal with the Hong Family again.

Ye Family Mansion.

The family head was anxious when he heard news of Ye Sheng coming back.

He walked from one end of the main hall to the other.

His servants followed behind, fanning him, in fear that their master would feel hot.

"Young master Ye Sheng is back!" Servants at the gate shouted.

Upon hearing this, the family head's footstep stopped and one of his legs froze in the air, like a kid that did something wrong.

"Hurry, bring the young master in." The family head said to the servant and proceeded to arrange for them to prepare a sumptuous meal.

He was nearly in tears when he saw Ye Sheng walked into the main hall.

"Father! I'm sorry but I failed you." Ye Sheng knelt in front of the family head the first thing he saw him.

Master See and his disciples who were behind him, stood silently.

"Come, let's talk over lunch." The family head said and glanced over at Master See, "Master See, we have vegetarian meals ready for you and your disciples too."

Master See nodded and followed the servant's lead.

Ye Sheng wolfed down the meal as he told the family head what had happened.

Clank.

The family head's chopsticks dropped when he heard Ye Sheng talking about what happened.

Something wasn't right, he felt.
