A muscular man wearing a white silk robe appeared next to the huge fox.

"Looks like we have old friends visiting us. Lucky for them the Dark Lord is still being resurrected," Huo Ren Yi smirked and said.

He took out a wooden slab and looked at the carvings on it.

After he brought the Dark Lord to the Dark Ring Temple, they'd been taken in by the ancestors.

The Dark Lord is in the process of being resurrected with a new body.

And he has been able to ascend and stabilize his Heaven Devouring Technique.

All this in exchange for sacrifices from the Quan Dynasty when the Dark Lord takes over.

He would've killed Lin Fan and the others if not for the sake of keeping the Dark Lord's resurrection a secret.

Huo Ren Yi whistled, and the huge fox lowered its body.

The snow cleared as Lin Fan, Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian walked further into the North Realm.

Surrounding them were now greeneries.

Only a sliver of sunlight could get to the ground of the forest.

"Right up ahead." Zhang Yi Nian wiped the sweat off his forehead.

It wasn't a smooth journey along the way.

They met with some demonic beasts and tough terrains.

And finally, they were near where the Nine Headed Hydra was.

Lin Fan activated his Resonant Echo ability and listened carefully.

In this moist and dense forest, he could hear the movements of tiny beasts in the surroundings.

Then the sound of running water.

He tried but there weren't any sounds that he could identify as the Nine Headed Hydra.

It had to be in hiding.

"I've got nothing. We might have to search around for it," Lin Fan said.

Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian nodded.

They needed to find it as soon as possible as Zhao Ming Ye's life depended on it.

"Let me search over in that area. Ho Ming, search over there. And master, maybe you can search in that area." Lin Fan allocated the areas that they would comb through.

"Meet back here after an incense time. Remember, if you see anything, don't be rash and come back here first."

After what they'd been through, it was best to be prudent and not make risky moves.

Lin Fan went on his way to search for the Nine Headed Hydra.

Using his Resonant Echo ability, he constantly kept on the lookout for anything unusual.

He walked through the foliage and got to a riverbank.

The river looked deep with running water and a small waterfall not far away.

Lin Fan deactivated his Resonant Echo ability as the splashing sound from the waterfall was too distracting.

He took out his spear and slowly got close to the riverbank.

Taking a slight peek into the water, he saw nothing but a reflection of his face.

The water was dark and looked bottomless.

Lin Fan had a hunch.

The surroundings seemed to be perfect for a Nine Headed Hydra.

Just that it was nowhere in sight.

He decided to walk along the riverbank to see if there were any other things he could find.

However, there wasn't much.

Only soil and mud near the riverbank.

Nothing unusual.

Lin Fan sighed and he started to walk back towards where he came from.

It was time for them to meet back at the rendezvous point.

He got back to the area and waited.

Time passed and Zhang Yi Nian came back not long after he did to the rendezvous point.

Ho Ming, however, didn't come back.

Lin Fan got worried as each moment passed.

Thoughts went through his mind.

What he went through at the entrance of the North Realm must have made it worse.

Ho Ming had helped him without any conditions.

He had to make sure that he got Ho Ming back safe and sound.

Finally, the wait was over, and Lin Fan decided to go and check it out.

"Master, I think we have to go and find Ho Ming now," Lin Fan said.

Zhang Yi Nian nodded his head and held his hand onto Lin Fan's shoulder.

"Stay calm. We will find Ho Ming." He tried to keep Lin Fan calm as he knew how close Ho Ming was to Lin Fan.

Lin Fan took a deep breath, promised himself that he would definitely get Ho Ming back safe, and they walked in the direction where Ho Ming went.

As they walked further into the area, the greeneries started to change.

Flowers surrounded them instead.

There were flowers of different shapes, sizes and colors.

Lin Fan activated his Resonant Echo ability and listened carefully.

But he heard nothing except for the sounds of leaves rustling.

Then it hit him.

With so many flowers, it was strange for him to not hear any insects chirping.

There was something about this place.

"Master..." He turned to Zhang Yi Nian who was beside him, but Zhang Yi Nian was holding his hands on his head.

Shaking his head vigorously, Zhang Yi Nian said, "Try... Keep... Awake..."

Zhang Yi Nian dropped on his knees.

Immediately, Lin Fan felt his eyelids getting heavier.

The flowers!

They must be emitting something that made you drowsy in the air.

He took out his hammers and banged them together.

The Eight Trigram Soundwave erupted in the surroundings.

Lin Fan allowed it to get to his head, even though it caused an immense headache, it made his mind clear for a moment.

The soundwave also helped Zhang Yi Nian as he was able to stand up now.

Having his mind clearer, Lin Fan activated his Magma Cataclysm.

Heat emitted from his body as magma could be seen running from cracks that had appeared in his skin.

Flames broke out burning the flowers.

The bushes that had the flowers on them shook as if they were alive.

Lin Fan bashed through them setting them on fire.

Suddenly, the bushes moved and pulled away from him.
