From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

"So, what's going on here?" Qing Yang Zi asked.

Zhang Yi Nian then briefed him on what they had encountered in the North Realm, and they suspected it was Fan Tian.

Qing Yang Zi frowned as he had reports from Hun Yen Kun earlier.

He sighed and took out a voice transmitting jade pendant.

"Yen Kun, track everything that Fan Tian does immediately," Qing Yang Zi said.

"Yes, master," Hun Yen Kun replied.

An aroma of herbs filled the room again when Guo He Ru took out another bottle of pills.

This time the pill he held in his hand gave out a chilling aura that made the room's temperature go down.

He helped Zhao Ming Ye's mouth open and put it into Zhao Ming Ye's mouth.

After he helped to close it, everyone still in the room waited anxiously again.

This time Zhao Ming Ye's body started to shake involuntarily a few moments after he swallowed the pill.

Then the skin which had turned black from the guardian beast's poison turned into a lighter hue of black.

Cold frost rose from the skin area.

The wound on Zhao Ming Ye's chest closed a little.

Zhao Ming Ye coughed out a mouthful of dark colored blood.

"Where...am I?" Zhao Ming Ye murmured as he turned his head to the left and right.

Finally, he woke up from his slumber and opened his eyes.

To his surprise, all he saw was everyone in the room putting their index finger on their lips.

Gesturing to him to keep quiet.

Fan Tian's room.

"Fan Tian, relax. That Guo He Ru is obviously not that good," Elder Hu said and took a sip from his teacup.

Fan Tian who was pacing around the room stopped and frowned at him.

Elder Chi also nodded to what Elder Hu said.

"Let them go and get whatever ingredient Guo He Ru needs. I think the end result would be the same."

"You two are just so naive. Guo He Ru can be an elder at his age if he wasn't," Fan Tian waved his hand at them in frustration.

He couldn't risk Guo He Ru succeeding.

Apart from Guo He Ru's antics, his results were out in the open for everyone to see.

Nothing came close to his Heavenly Rejuvenate pills and his Glorious Poison Recovery pill.

Which was something that Fan Tian knew he couldn't conjure up by himself.

And yet, Guo He Ru did it.

The thought about Guo He Ru's talents made it much more tempting to take a risk again.

Zhang Yi Nian wasn't going to be with Lin Fan this time.

And Lin Fan looking that young mustn't have really been that powerful.

He must have survived under the protection of Zhang Yi Nian.

Fan Tian recalled what had transpired earlier.

He noticed how Lin Fan wanted to seek his master's presence with him to go to the North Realm.

He must be right.

Lin Fan was just having successes because of Zhang Yi Nian.

"Old fox," Fan Tian exclaimed about Zhang Yi Nian.

How naive of Zhang Yi Nian to think that no one would discover him paving the way for Lin Fan.

This gave him the confidence to take a risk again.

"You two wait for my updates," Fan Tian said as he packed some pills into his clothes.

Even though his brother was supportive of him, he still needs to make payments for the assassin's work.

Fan Tian immediately left for Guang Ming City where the Fan family was located.

Unknown to him, Hun Yen Kun in disguise with his face mask artifact followed closely behind.

Fan Family Mansion.

When the guards saw Fan Tian, they gave him an awkward looking smile.

Not what he had encountered previously.

"What are you waiting for? Lead me to the family head," Fan Tian shouted at the guard.

He didn't have much time to waste.

"Eh.. Yes.. This way please. I'll get the family head," The guard said and led Fan Tian into the mansion.

What he saw next surprised him.

The family head was seated next to someone Fan Tian had not expected to see.

Qing Yang Zi was sipping on his teacup.

Hun Yen Kun, Zhang Yi Nian and Lin Fan were all in the room.

"You.." Fan Tian pointed his finger at Lin Fan.

"Why are you so surprised to see me, Elder Fan?" Lin Fan smirked and bowed at Fan Tian.

Different thoughts ran through Fan Tian's mind.

He glanced over at the family head.

But the family head was his old and frail self, seated slumped in his chair.

The Fan Family was ruthless and cunning, but they weren't as powerful as the Qing Feng Sect.

Especially now that Emperor Quan Shi was gone, no one could try and weaken Qing Feng Sect anymore.

On top of that, he had sent out his best assassins and they all died.

It would be stupid for him to openly go against the Qing Feng Sect now.

"I believe you have some explanation to make," Qing Yang Zi said and put down his teacup.

"Sect master, I'm not sure what you are talking about?" Fan Tian shook his hands, and he pretended to be innocent about what Qing Yang Zi was hinting at.

Qing Yang Zi sighed, and he pointed at the entrance to the room.

To Fan Tian's horror, Zhao Ming Ye was standing at the entrance with his flags.

Fan Tian recognized those flags.

They were used for the Memory Recall formation array.

"I can explain, Sect Master," Fan Tian turned back and knelt at Qing Yang Zi.

"It is not what it seems! I've been framed by him," He turned and pointed at Lin Fan.

"This man is dangerous! He had tricked me into thinking that Guo He Ru was going to murder the Formation Peak Lord with his pills. I had to make sure Guo He Ru wouldn't succeed!"

Fan Tian desperately tried to wiggle his way out of it.

Lin Fan smirked and said, "And how did I do that?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"You.. You..." Fan Tian was lost for words.

Qing Yang Zi shook his head, turned to the Fan family head and said, "I apologize that we have to show our sect's dirty linen in front of the Fan family."

Cough.

The family head coughed and shook his hand.
