From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

When Hai Tao saw Lin Fan, Ho Ming, and Zhang Yi Nian behind him, he whipped his horse fanatically.

He had to get away from them.

Only one ending awaited him if he was caught up by the three of them.

"Let me off! I promise you my family will bestow upon you riches that you could never even imagine!"

Hai Tao shouted, and he looked back and forth trying to see if he had gotten further away.

Lin Fan couldn't be bothered with what Hai Tao had said, and he used his Skybound Stride ability.

Boom.

He shot towards Hai Tao like a shooting star.

Hai Tao felt a gust of wind brushing him by when he veered his horse to the left, dodging Lin Fan by mere inches.

Thud.

Lin Fan landed on the ground, and the impact kicked up a huge mass of soil from the ground.

He turned to the left and, using the Inferno Pounce, he pounced at Hai Tao.

This time, even if Hai Tao was able to react in time, it was not enough.

Lin Fan was like a fireball shooting at him, and the heat burned everything in its path.

Neigh.

The horse that Hai Tao was on neighed as it felt the heat from the fireball.

And the next moment, it slammed into its body.

Boom!

An explosion ensued, blowing up the horse into pieces.

Hai Tao was hurled up into the air, and before he landed onto the ground, Lin Fan lunged at him and grabbed onto his neck.

"Don't think you are going anywhere. You and I know those aren't Qing Feng Sect disciples."

Lin Fan said without any expression on his face.

"Argh.. Let go of me. Hmph. And you and I know that I don't have any other choice but to make it so that they are Qing Feng Sect disciples!" Hai Tao struggled to break free from Lin Fan's grip but couldn't do so.

He was no match for Lin Fan's strength.

Not giving up, he thrashed around trying to find a lifeline.

It was useless as he felt Lin Fan's fingers tightening.

Pain struck as he felt his neck being squeezed hard.

The next thing he knew, everything went blank.

Lin Fan had clenched his fingers, and the head of Hai Tao rolled off.

He flicked the blood off his hand and turned back towards Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian.

"Come, let's get back to Lu Ding, see what they were able to find."

It didn't take long for them to get back, and the battlefield was now filled with smoke as the bodies burnt.

Getting into the tent, Lin Fan saw Lu Ding with a huge smile coming up to him.

"Look what we found." Lu Ding pointed to some bracelets that were placed on his table.

Lin Fan walked over and picked one up.

"What's this?" He asked.

"Come, let's get outside and let me show you." Lu Ding said, and they went outside the tent.

Lin Fan, Ho Ming, and Zhang Yi Nian looked on as Lu Ding wore the bracelet onto his wrist.

He then drew out his sword.

"Watch carefully, don't blink." Lu Ding injected his Qi into the bracelet, and it glowed.

He thrust his sword up into the air next.

Whoosh.

To their surprise, a twirling wind shot out of the sword.

Ho Ming's eyes opened wide when he saw what happened.

Disciples in the Sword Peak had to go through tough training to be able to execute the Twirling Wind Strike.

And yet, now with just a bracelet, Lu Ding was able to unleash a Twirling Wind Strike like it was nothing.

"This is how they were able to pretend to be Qing Feng Sect disciples." Lu Ding took off the bracelet and handed it over to Lin Fan.

He continued saying, "Someone must have found an Artifact Cultivator to make these. Do you need me to investigate further on who made these?"

"No, let the Qing Feng Sect handle the rest." Lin Fan shook his head and declined Lu Ding's offer.

It was obvious Lu Ding didn't know who was behind it.

He didn't want Lu Ding to get involved deeper into this.

Lin Fan would need Governor Lu and Lu Ding in the future when it's time to go against the Emperor.

A time which he sensed wasn't very far.

The Emperor trying to frame Qing Feng Sect again wasn't something that is tolerable, even to Qing Yang Zi.

"Master, I think we should take these bracelets, go back to the sect, and see who was the one who made these artifacts." Lin Fan said.

If they found out who made the artifacts and with Zhao Ming Ye's Memory Recall formation array, they would have proof that it was done under the instruction of the Emperor.

Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian nodded.

"Maybe Peak Lord Han Dang and Master Su Qi Nian can help with figuring out who made it." Ho Ming suggested.

"Definitely. When we get back, time for a good hotpot dinner." Lin Fan patted Ho Ming on his shoulder.

It was a long and hard battle, and his buddy Ho Ming had been reliable as usual.

Zhang Yi Nian frowned and said, "What's with the hotpot dinner?"

"Master, you are definitely invited and welcomed to join." Lin Fan quickly bowed and said.

"Hmph. That's better." Zhang Yi Nian said with his arms crossed.

He had wanted to show Lin Fan how good he was on this mission, but it didn't work out as expected.

Lin Fan was more powerful than he had expected.

His idea of having Lin Fan take over was right.

A messenger pigeon flew into a tower that was made to receive them.

One of the messenger troops stationed inside grabbed onto the pigeon, took out the paper holder from the pigeon's feet, and put the pigeon into a cage.

He then recorded down the time and where the pigeon came from.

"Send this to his Majesty."

After he was done, he passed it to another soldier on a horse, ready to send the message into the imperial palace.

The soldier took the paper holder and, with a kick on the horse's belly, galloped towards the imperial palace.
