The pain made the Ice Tusk Elephant thrash around and it stomped on a few unlucky soldiers.

But things were still dire as more and more troops from the Hulu Tribencentrated at Ye Sheng's front.

To make things worse, he started to try and give out instructions.

His troops got more disorganized.

"Master, what shall we do? Captain Ye Sheng might be in danger soon." One of the disciples of Master See asked.

Master See frowned and looked at his surroundings.

It was a given that they would be overrun by the troops from Hulu Tribe soon.

His deal with the Emperor'sncubine was to help Ye Sheng clinch the General's title or, when things got messy, keep him safe.

He nodded and made his decision.

"Get Ye Sheng safely out of here."

"Yes, master."

Master See and his disciples started to move back, withdrawing from the battle.

When Ye Sheng's troops saw it, their hearts sank even further.

Why are these monks running away?

Can't they be like the cultivators on Lu Ding's side?

They saw how Lin Fan, Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian led the charge.

Instead of that, what they had here were the monks who stayed behind for most part.

Joining in the battle when it was only necessary.

They cursed their luck as they tried to fend off the swords of the enemy.

By now, they were outnumbered and outmaneuvered.

Some of them started to turn around and tried to run.

But it was in vain as the Hulu Tribe soldiers were now in rage.

They'd felt insulted with the defeat of the Beast Forge Battalion and Wan Yan Lie Chi's troops.

Lu Ding looked on with worry on his face.

He had now joined up with Lin Fan and the rest.

Things might turn for the worse if Ye Sheng's front was overrun and Hulu Tribe's troops flanked them from the side.

He didn't have faith in Hai Tao tome to his rescue to attack the Hulu Tribe from the back if they turned and flanked towards Lu Ding.

Even if Hai Tao wanted to, he was now busy engaging with the enemy on his front.

Lu Ding gave out a sigh as he was so near to Hulu Bei Er.

Lu Ding sighed again and bowed at Lin Fan, Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian.

"I shall forever be indebted to you. Please, if you aren't to succeed, retreat and take care of yourselves first. My father and I shall honor our deal even if you do so."

Lin Fan shrugged and replied, "Don't worry, they wouldn't know what hit them."

Hai Tao was also in brainstorming mode as he watched Ye Sheng's troops crumbling.

His troops might be in danger if the Hulu Tribe turned at him next.

In his mind, there is no way Lu Ding willme to his rescue.

Lu Ding was so close to the Khan that only an idiot would do so, giving up on the chance to win.

But the next moment, he was proven wrong immediately.

He saw Lu Ding's troops turn towards the center of the battlefield.

And with a loud roar, they charged at the Hulu Tribe troops.

Hai Tao smirked at what he saw.

How naïve of Lu Ding, he thought.

Now it was he who had the best chance of winning the title of General.

He turned to the Sword Saint and Jian Xin.

"Sword Saint, I think the time is now for you to go and bring me the head of the Khan."

Hai Tao bowed and waited for the Sword Saint's answer.

The Sword Saint opened his eyes and said, "Finally, wait here. I'll be back in a few moments."

With that he leaped into the air, and the sword in Jian Xin's hands started to shake.

Ring.

The sword flew out of its scabbard.

A chill was felt as the temperature dropped immediately.

The Sword Saint then stepped onto the sword and waited.

Whoosh.

Jian Xin then leaped onto the back of the sword and stood behind the Sword Saint.

The next moment they flew away in the direction of Khan'smmand campsite.

Soldiers on the ground gasped as they saw the Sword Saint and Jian Xin fly above them like a shooting star.

This gave them a burst of energy and they fought with a newfound gusto.

They were organized and didn't suffer huge damage like Ye Sheng's troops.

And they weren't up against elite troops from the enemy like Lu Ding's troops had to deal with.

Now, finally, the cultivators on their side made their move.

And it was a spectacular one.

"Die!"

"On my orders, now!"

The soldiers from Hai Tao pushed ahead, inching closer to the Khan.

Without worry of being flanked from the center of the battlefield, theyuld do what they were tasked with.

"Report back to the Khan!" Themmander for the troops on this side shouted.

He needs to hold on or he might be the one that puts the Khan at risk.

One of his close guards nodded and rode off.

Lucky for him no troops from the Quan Dynasty followed him.

The journey was relatively uneventful until he was stopped halfway.

Three men stood in front of him.

One of them whose robe was now in a ghastly crimson from all the blood smirked at him.
