From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

In front of them was a twirling vortex.

All they needed to enter the North Realm was to step into it.

"I will lead us to the direction of the Nine Headed Hydra once we get into the North Realm.

"On the way, if you see something strange, try to ignore it.

"Things work differently inside the North Realm.

"You might be interacting with an ancestor from a thousand years ago if you aren't careful."

Zhang Yi Nian briefed Lin Fan and Ho Ming about what to expect in the North Realm.

Lin Fan nodded and kept what Zhang Yi Nian said in mind.

Once they were ready, they stepped into the twirling vortex.

Memories came into Lin Fan's mind when he walked through the vortex.

Scenes replayed in his mind constantly.

He glanced over at Ho Ming and Zhang Yi Nian, and they seemed to be in the same state as he was.

But after what Zhang Yi Nian had told him, he kept calm and continued walking into the other end of the vortex.

The sensations of the scenes that replayed became more real. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

He started to be able to feel the emotions of those he had slain.

Pain could be felt all over his body.

Lin Fan gritted his teeth and ignored the pain.

It's not real. He said to himself in his mind repeatedly.

When he saw Ho Ming, stopping and bending down his body, he quickly walked over and held him back up.

"Hang on. It's not real. Focus and it shall be over soon." Lin Fan tried to encourage Ho Ming as they were near the other end of the vortex.

Ho Ming nodded and took a deep breath.

After he calmed himself, Ho Ming started to walk again.

Lin Fan kept holding onto Ho Ming and supported him along the way.

By now he was used to the pain that the scenes from the past had inflicted on him.

Finally, they reached the end of the vortex which was a white wall.

Three of them took a step and they felt like they were in a free fall.

Gusts of strong wind came upon Lin Fan's face as he descended.

Splatter.

Snow came onto his face as he finally landed onto the ground.

Lin Fan got up and looked around.

"Ho Ming, are you there? Master? Anyone around?"

He didn't see Ho Ming or Zhang Yi Nian in the surroundings, and he called out.

But there was no response.

The only thing he could hear was the cold wind blowing across the thick snow.

He had to find them soon.

They were most likely nearby.

"What would Ho Ming and Master think of doing first?" Lin Fan thought about how they would react.

It would help him to find them much easier.

As the cold wind blew onto his face, he breathed out a white mist and said, "To get away from the cold."

That meant they would be seeking a shelter.

Lin Fan scanned the area and finally he saw a small hill further in the distance.

It should allow some respite from the cold winds.

He started to walk towards the hill.

When he was a hundred meters away, out in the corner of his eyes, he saw a wooden hut appear.

He turned and looked at it.

Somehow the wooden hut looked familiar to him.

And after some moments of observation, he recognized it.

It looked exactly like the wooden hut he lived in with Ho Jie!

Eerily, the door of the wooden hut creaked open.

Out came Ho Jie, or something that looked like Ho Jie.

He chuckled and waved at Lin Fan, motioning for him to come near.

Lin Fan ignored him, and he turned back and walked toward the small hill.

As he got nearer, he saw two figures under the foot of the hill, starting a fire.

"Ho Ming. Master." Lin Fan shouted at them, and they looked happy to see Lin Fan again.

"Did you see anything unusual?" Lin Fan asked Ho Ming as the warmth of the fire made the snow on his face melt.

"I eh... I saw my father waving at me. And you should know there's no way he would do that without giving me a scolding." Ho Ming shrugged and said.

"Good that you heeded my advice. This place doesn't work the same way. Let's rest for a bit before we head for the Nine Headed Hydra."

As the fire crackled and the warmth made everyone comfortable, Lin Fan looked at the small hill more closely.

Up on the top there was a stone tablet.

"Master, there's a stone tablet at the top. Do you have any idea what it's about?"

"Hmm... I've never looked at it, the time when I was here, senior martial uncle was busy killing demonic beasts and enemies." Zhang Yi Nian replied.

"If you want to, we can have a look and then move on to the Nine Headed Hydra." Zhang Yi Nian suggested.

"Any signs of danger and we make a run for it." Lin Fan nodded and said.

Although he would be more than happy if he found treasures and artifacts here, he still wanted it to be safe.

Especially after what he had just experienced.

"Then let's make a move, we don't have all the time in this world." Zhang Yi Nian said, and they stomped out the fire.

With a leap they got onto the top of the small hill, which was around twenty meters high.

Lin Fan took out his spear, in case of any dangers and he walked towards the stone tablet.

The stone tablet glowed and the words on it gave out a golden glow.

With his eyes narrowed, Lin Fan tried to figure out what the words were about.

"Fate brought you here... The Snow Lotus Sword Technique..." He couldn't fully make out the words, but he knew it was about a sword technique.

Excitedly, he glanced over at Ho Ming.

But to his surprise, he saw men in black further out in the distance coming towards them.

They disappeared in the snow and then appeared again.

And when they appeared again, they were closer to the small hill.

It was a form of movement technique Lin Fan had never seen before.

"There they are!" The leader of the men shouted and pointed his sword at Lin Fan.
