He finally released her, his face glistening with her essence. He looked up at her with those striking red eyes, a rare smile playing at his lips.
"Sweet," he commented, licking his lips. "Like cotton candy with a hint of citrus."
Elizabeth stared at him in disbelief, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath. "What was that? What just happened to me?"
Liam wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, his expression softening as he took in her confused, pleasure-dazed face. "You came," he said simply. "For the first time, I’m guessing."
She nodded slowly, still processing the intense sensations that had just overwhelmed her. "Is that... normal? It felt like I was dying and being born at the same time. I’m pretty sure I saw stars. "
"Mm," he hummed, moving up her body to hover over her. "It’s supposed to feel good."
"Good doesn’t cover it," she whispered, reaching up to touch his face. "I’ve never felt anything like that before."
Liam caught her wrist, bringing her fingers to his lips. "There’s more," he promised, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine. "But first, I need to know something."
Elizabeth’s heart raced as she looked up at him, his white hair falling forward like a curtain around them. "What?"
"Are you sure you want this?" His red eyes searched hers with unexpected intensity. "Not just now and everything that comes after."
"Define ’this,’" she managed. Her throat felt tight. "Because if you mean the cooking thing, I’m already committed to the cooking thing."
"Not the cooking thing."
"Oh."
His tail swayed behind him. She tracked its movement because looking directly at Liam’s face right now felt like staring into the sun.
"Not just tonight, either." He lowered her hand but didn’t release it. Drew it against his chest instead, pressing her palm flat over the steady drum of his heartbeat, "everything after."
The weight of that landed on her like a physical blow. Her knees went soft. Her free hand grabbed the front of his shirt, black, slightly open at the collar, the exposed skin beneath radiating heat she could feel against her knuckles.
"You can’t just..." She swallowed. Tried again. "You can’t say stuff like that while holding my hand against your chest that’s cheating."
One ear flicked. "How is that cheating?"
"Because I can’t think."
"You don’t need to think." His other hand came up. Cupped the side of her face with a gentleness that had no business existing in hands that large. His thumb grazed her cheekbone. "Just need to know if you want to stay."
Elizabeth’s breath caught. The weight of his hand against her face anchored her to the moment. To him. The question hung between them, simple and complex all at once.
Liam watched her, those red eyes steady. "What about the others?"
The question came out of nowhere. Elizabeth blinked, processing. The others? Right. The ones who looked at him with the same hunger she felt in her own chest.
"Midnight, Berry and Noir." She listed them like items in an inventory. Practical. "I know what’s... I’m not blind. I see how they look at you. How are you with them?"
"I’m fine with it."
Elizabeth stared at the plate, then up at him.
"You’re fine with...?"
"If we were still humans, sure, I wouldn’t be happy." She reached across her fingers, finding the hard ridge of him through his pants. Liam groaned, a sound that vibrated through his chest.
She didn’t pull back. Her fingers pressed harder, tracing the shape of him with a confidence that made his jaw clench. "But these emotions, everything, as long as you keep me in your heart and still live with me." Her thumb dragged along the length. "And I’m your first."
His first.
Something about the way she said it was nearly possessive, almost fragile underneath the bravado. Like she’d rehearsed that line in her head twenty times before letting it out
"Enough now, my kitty." Liam caught her wrist, his massive hand gentle but firm. He patted her head with his other hand, the gesture so out of place with the heat between them. "We still need to work our way through these catacombs and find everyone."
Elizabeth nodded, pulling her hand back. The moment hung between them, unresolved but not broken. She started to rise, to gather her things.
Liam moved faster than she expected. His hand shot out, caught her arm, and dragged her back toward him. His mouth found hers in a kiss that was anything but gentle. Deep. Passionate. Hungry. When he finally pulled away, strings of saliva connected them, glistening in the dim light.
"Later," he said, his voice a low rumble. "We finish this later."
Elizabeth touched her lips, still feeling the heat of him.
"We still need to work through these catacombs," he said. "Find everyone."
"Right." Elizabeth nodded.
Liam reached up and scratched behind her left ear. Slow. Deliberate in the way that was actually just instinct, the same way he’d scratch behind any cat’s ear. Her leg twitched.
"Stop that," she said, not moving away.
He didn’t stop. His thumb traced the velvet fold where her ear met her hair, and Elizabeth’s entire posture softened against him, her weight settling into his lap like her bones had given up on standing.
"I hate you," she muttered into his collarbone.
"Mm." He patted her back twice, "Alright, let’s deal with the nagas."
As soon as Liam stood up, his HUD appeared in front of him. A golden notification box flickered into Liam’s peripheral vision, pulsing with a rhythmic, heartbeat-like glow that definitely wasn’t part of the standard Tana Forest UI.
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: NEW RECIPE DISCOVERED]
Recipe Name: The First Explorer (Partial Unlock)
Flavour Profile: Cherry Blossom Cotton Candy
Rarity: Unique / Forbidden / Soul-Bound
Completion Status: 69% (Condition: "The Full Journey" not yet completed)
Liam laughed and scrolled through the rest of it.
"Liam... what is that light in your eyes?"
"It’s a notification, Elizabeth. Apparently, the System likes what I’m doing. It says we’re now 5000% more dangerous... and I haven’t even taken my socks off yet."
[OP BUFF STATUS: THE 5000% FEEDBACK LOOP]
Since the "First Explorer" didn’t reach the final destination, the System has capped the power at a "modest" 5000% efficiency.
The Symbiotic Siphon: Whenever Elizabeth inflicts damage, 5000% of that value is instantly converted into healing for the user.
The Protective Rebound: Whenever the user strikes an enemy, 5000% of that damage restores Elizabeth’s HP.
Current Reality: It’s a two-person meat grinder powered by cherry blossoms and sheer horniness.
[Tool Tip]:
"All The Way" Perk: Locked until the "final exploration" is completed.
