Chen Nan stood up with a fearful expression, retracted the seat, and knelt with a THUD! He knelt at Ning Xuan’s feet, resting his head on her lap and hugging her legs tightly.

"I told you to get over here and kneel! Where do you think you’re kneeling?" From Bai Er’s perspective, Ning Xuan was completely blocked by a seat in the Flying Car. Bai Er assumed Chen Nan had been scared witless and that his legs had gone weak, causing him to kneel in the wrong place.

"What are you screeching about? Chen Nan is my man, so of course he kneels to me. If you want to throw your weight around, go do it somewhere else. If you dare be rude to him again, don’t blame me for what happens next!" Ning Xuan put away the book she was reading, nudged Chen Nan with her foot, and told him to let go of her leg and stand up.

Ning Xuan had never been short, but in the few months since her spiritual power had awakened, she had grown much taller, now standing nearly six feet tall. When she rose to her feet, Second Miss Bai was stunned for a moment before flying into a rage. "Where the hell did you pop out from? Chen Nan is my Contractor! Our two families arranged our engagement long ago. Don’t get any ideas just because he’s handsome. Mess with people you can’t afford to, and you’ll regret it when it’s too late!"

"According to Federation law, a contract relationship matched by the Main Brain takes precedence over everything else. Two of Second Miss Bai’s Attendants charged forward. Chen Nan’s eyes glinted, and with a movement as swift as lightning, he sent both of them flying with two consecutive kicks.

Though the interior of the Flying Car was spacious, it was now plunged into chaos. The other passengers cried out in alarm at the sudden turn of events, their screams overlapping. Some were knocked over by the flying Attendants, while others collapsed to the floor in fright. It was utter pandemonium.

The staff on the Flying Car quickly noticed the disturbance and rushed over to stop the fight.

About half an hour later, they arrived at their destination. Chen Nan and Ning Xuan followed Principal Qi and the others off the car, and Second Miss Bai got off here as well, her entourage in tow.

"Stop right there! Chen Nan, I’ve already notified your family. You’re coming with me today!" After getting off the car, Second Miss Bai blocked Ning Xuan’s path.

Seeing Second Miss Bai disembark, the people who had been watching the commotion on the Flying Car followed her out. They now stood to the side, forming a crowd of onlookers.

Principal Qi started to walk over, intending to say something, but Ning Xuan stopped him. "Principal Qi, please take the students and get them settled in. This is my personal business; there’s no need for you to get involved." She didn’t want to cause any trouble for the school.

Though Ning Xuan was a newcomer, she paid the Bai Family and the Chen Family no mind. Principal Qi, on the other hand, was aware of her true strength. He knew that as long as Ning Xuan proved she was a B-Class Spirit Controller, no one would dare touch her.

And so, Principal Qi led the students away. The backup Second Miss Bai had summoned now had Ning Xuan and Chen Nan completely surrounded.

Second Miss Bai took in the scene, and her arrogance immediately returned. "Chen Nan, I just had someone ask around. You threw away a perfectly good life to make a woman from some Low-class Star your Contractor. While I was seriously preparing for our Contract ceremony, you shamelessly ran off with her! You really know how to debase yourself."

The onlookers, who didn’t know the full story, took Second Miss Bai’s side and started criticizing Chen Nan. "I can’t believe it. He looks so clean-cut, but he’d actually do something like this!"

"Tie him up and take him away!" Hearing the crowd’s murmuring, Second Miss Bai grew even more emboldened. She was convinced she had already figured Ning Xuan out and didn’t see her as a threat in the slightest.

At a signal from Second Miss Bai, a dozen or so guards charged toward Chen Nan. Ning Xuan raised an eyebrow, watching as Chen Nan became embroiled in a fight with them. Just then, another group of people rushed toward the scene.

"Uncle Wang, over here!" Second Miss Bai shouted enthusiastically.

The man who had just arrived was none other than Chen Nan’s father, Wang Mu.

Wang Mu appeared to be in his thirties or forties, with a slender build and refined, handsome features. Chen Nan had inherited a good four- or five-tenths of his looks from the man; it was obvious at a glance that they were father and son.

Wang Mu’s Spiritual Power Level was SS-level, a full major rank higher than Chen Nan’s. From B-Class onward, each Level required exponentially more Spiritual Power Value to advance, making each jump more difficult than the last. Thus, when Wang Mu moved against Chen Nan, it was an absolute rout. The moment he acted, he had Chen Nan completely immobilized.

Wang Mu didn’t want to cause a major public scene with his son, so he immediately launched a spiritual power attack. Chen Nan felt the connection between his spirit and his body sever. His limbs went rigid, and he was unable to move. Even his tongue felt stiff, rendering him completely unable to speak.

To an outsider, it simply looked as if the moment Wang Mu appeared, Chen Nan, who had just been fighting ferociously, had instantly become docile.

Just as Wang Mu was ordering his men to take Chen Nan away, Ning Xuan flashed in front of him, shielding him with her body.
