Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top

At the words "being favored," Yun Han’s face stiffened, and his body trembled involuntarily. The vine wrapped around his waist suddenly tightened. In response to the stimulus, an intense, tingling numbness shot up from the base of his spine and radiated through his entire body. His face flushed red, and he clenched his jaw to keep from making a sound.

"Get out, now," Yun Han said through gritted teeth.

"Don’t be so petty. It’s not like Ning Xuan can dote on you exclusively. We’re old acquaintances, after all. Help me out, and we can form an alliance to vie for her favor together. How about it?" Di Youlin could clearly see Yun Han’s compromised position, but he deliberately lingered to talk, his eyes fixed on Yun Han’s body.

To be honest, he rather missed the feeling of being suspended by Ning Xuan’s Plant Pet, the Ghost-faced Red Dragon. He was intensely curious. ’What is that vine doing to Yun Han?’

Seeing Di Youlin’s lecherous gaze, Yun Han grew so enraged that he channeled his energy, sending a streak of white light flying with a wave of his hand. The tent was filled with Ning Xuan’s favorite possessions, and he couldn’t afford to explain away any damage. Mindful of this, Di Youlin didn’t dodge; instead, he unfolded his wings and blocked the attack.

Although Di Youlin blocked the blow, the shockwave of light still knocked him back several steps. Taking a single hit was fine, but he knew he couldn’t handle a few more.

"Don’t be angry! I’m leaving, I’m leaving, okay? Just think about my offer," Di Youlin said, backing toward the tent’s entrance and looking over his shoulder.

Yun Han was so angry he wanted to fight.

But he didn’t dare move again. Seeing Di Youlin leave, Yun Han breathed a sigh of relief. He stripped off his sleepwear, tossed it aside, and lay down, allowing the vine at his waist to sprout flowering tendrils that wound tightly around his entire body.

During her Cultivation in the Oasis Fairyland, Ning Xuan initially felt a significant improvement in her spiritual power and physical constitution. Even her nascent Wind and Thunder Element Bloodline Energy had gradually formed its own independent circulatory path, allowing it to function alongside her Fire Element Energy without interference.

Logically, with the current abundance of Wind and Thunder Element Bloodline Energy in her body, she should have been able to condense a new Companion Spirit. However, just as the Vermilion Bird’s Spirit was suppressed in this plane, so too was the potential Wind and Thunder Element Companion Spirit.

Yun Han’s Little White was also being suppressed. Conversely, Companion Spirits below the Mythical Level experienced a weaker suppression.

After her Wind and Thunder Element Bloodline Energy formed its own independent circuit, Ning Xuan felt her Cultivation had hit a bottleneck, and her progress stalled.

Ning Xuan wasn’t worried, though. She believed in accumulating power for a later burst. Although she was currently suppressed by the rules of this world, all the energy she was storing up would erupt once she returned to the Federation Star System.

Since Ning Xuan had reached a bottleneck and her absorption of the spiral nebula’s energy was at its limit, she cultivated alongside Chen Nan, Lan Xin, and Qinghe. The energy from the spiral nebula, refined by her Vermilion Bird Fire, was almost entirely absorbed by the three of them.

Chen Nan, who had been cultivating with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. A green light flared in his pupils as a Golden Eagle with golden feathers and jade-green eyes rose from within him. Bathed in a brilliant golden glow, the eagle’s form had doubled in size.

Ning Xuan, sitting cross-legged on a slightly elevated stone platform, sensed the energy fluctuation. She opened her eyes and looked back to see dense energy surging around Chen Nan. The Green-eyed Golden Eagle emerging from his body had fully materialized. Its size swelled explosively as its resplendent golden plumage began to molt and regenerate at a visible rate. Old feathers fluttered down, and each new feather that grew in was streaked with magnificent crimson patterns.

The new feathers stood on end, each tip brewing with the power of a storm. A sweep of its wings kicked up violent gales.

"SCREEE—"

The Golden Eagle threw back its head and shrieked, a cry sharp enough to pierce clouds and shatter stone. It shot into the air, inhaling vast motes of light from the spiral nebula.

It was as if a river of fire forged from countless stars was pouring into the Golden Eagle, instantly erupting in a boundless, radiant glow.

The innate soul mark on Chen Nan’s brow lit up as Bloodline Energy flowed between his body and the Golden Eagle.

After about ten minutes, the flow of energy between Chen Nan and his Companion Spirit finally ceased. The Companion Spirit shrank to the size of a normal golden eagle and flew to Chen Nan’s outstretched hand.

Chen Nan looked up at Ning Xuan excitedly. "Contractor, Little Jin transformed! It evolved from the Advanced Level to the Elite Level."

Seeing his excitement, Ning Xuan beckoned to him. Chen Nan understood her gesture and happily leaped up to the platform, kneeling before her with sparkling eyes.

"Well done. Keep up the good work," Ning Xuan said, patting him.

"Congratulations. Companion Spirits are born from one’s genetic bloodline; very few are capable of advancing. Mr. Chen is quite fortunate," Qinghe congratulated him politely, though his words sounded somewhat strained.

In comparison, Lan Xin’s congratulations sounded much more sincere.

"Contractor, Little Jin’s advancement nearly failed. If the transformation had been unsuccessful, it would have been gravely injured. It’s all thanks to you helping me through our bond. Thank you." Perhaps due to his Companion Spirit’s evolution, Chen Nan’s facial features, while not drastically different, now seemed more refined. His eyes shimmered with an emerald-green light.

The look of worshipful infatuation in those eyes as they gazed at Ning Xuan clearly pleased her.

"Come here, let me see," Ning Xuan said.

Chen Nan shuffled forward a few steps on his knees until he was right in front of Ning Xuan, shyly resting his chin on her outstretched hand.

Seeing this, Lan Xin and Qinghe hastily turned their heads away.

"This jawline... these eyes... you really do look better than before," Ning Xuan murmured to herself. "Can genetic transformation actually improve one’s looks?"

Chen Nan hadn’t seen his own face yet, but hearing Ning Xuan’s words made his heart pound. He had always been insecure that his looks weren’t as striking as the others.

’If I’ve become better looking, will Ning Xuan like me more?’

Chen Nan had been by Ning Xuan’s side the longest, and in the past, he had been one of her favorites. But ever since Yun Han had awakened, both he and Lin Mo had been sidelined.

He hadn’t been doted on by Ning Xuan in a very long time. Just as Chen Nan’s imagination was running wild, Ning Xuan patted his head. "Why are you suddenly blushing?"

As if possessed, Chen Nan blurted out, "Contractor, you haven’t touched Ah Nan in so long. I got excited and lost my composure."

"Heh," Ning Xuan sneered. "With such a perfect environment for Cultivation, you’re not focused on training but are instead entertaining impure thoughts. I see you’re just like Yun Han, in need of a lesson."

Although Ning Xuan’s voice was cold, Chen Nan could tell she wasn’t truly angry. He boldly grabbed her hand and pressed it to his cheek. "Lord Contract Master is wise. You just praised Ah Nan for his hard work. Could you indulge Ah Nan?"
