Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top

Ning Xuan woke up feeling utterly refreshed. She sensed someone next to her and turned to see a blond-haired young man shyly looking up at her.

Once a man and woman become intimate, their relationship is never the same. Now, when Ning Xuan looked at him, she no longer found him stiff and dull. Instead, he looked absolutely delectable.

"Good morning, Lord Contract Master!" A faint blush colored Chen Nan’s fair skin. A silver Imprisonment Ring was clasped around his neck, and the exposed skin beneath it was covered in a dense pattern of red marks. Ning Xuan’s eyes grew hot, and she immediately pounced on him.

"Mmph..." Ning Xuan’s lips and teeth nibbled at Chen Nan’s vulnerable throat, sending a jolt of electricity through him. Chen Nan could tell her biting was just playful, devoid of any real passion. ’But she probably has no idea what her "playfulness" is doing to my body, does she?’

"You’re blushing so much, Ah Nan. Last night, I..." Before Ning Xuan could finish, Chen Nan’s face turned beet red. He frantically covered her mouth. "Contractor, we should get up!" He didn’t dare let her continue. ’This Contractor of mine was clearly born in the lower class, yet when it comes to things like this, her words and actions are more shameless than those noble ladies from the High-level Stars!’

"Oh? Can you even get up? You can take the day off, you know!" Ning Xuan said teasingly, her eyes raking over Chen Nan’s body.

Chen Nan bit his lip. Ning Xuan reached out and pinched his cheek. "Stop that. You’ll break the skin again!" His bright red lips were so vibrant and alluring, they made her feel hungry just looking at them.

RUMBLE... Ning Xuan’s stomach let out a loud protest. She really was hungry.

"My apologies, Contractor. I’ll go prepare breakfast for you right away!" Chen Nan quickly threw off the covers to get out of bed and find his clothes. But the moment his feet touched the floor, he stumbled and fell. His legs felt like he was walking on cotton, with no strength at all. He shot Ning Xuan a reproachful look, then immediately lowered his head in shame.

"Come here!" Ning Xuan said, raising an eyebrow.

Chen Nan obediently came closer. Ning Xuan reached out, took hold of the Imprisonment Ring, and pressed a round button on its side. With a CLICK, the Imprisonment Ring came undone.

The power within Chen Nan’s body was instantly restored, and the weakness and soreness in his legs and lower back greatly subsided. Ning Xuan could feel the muscles under her hand instantly harden, and she gave them a couple of satisfied squeezes.

"Contractor..." Chen Nan wanted to say that removing the Imprisonment Ring was against the rules. Inwardly, however, he didn’t want to wear the ring all the time, and his expression was deeply conflicted.

"I need to get my spiritual power retested today, and also check my brain domain width. You’re coming with me!" Ning Xuan tossed the Imprisonment Ring onto the bed and got up. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Chen Nan quickly gathered the pile of clothes from the nearby table, found Ning Xuan’s outfit, and handed it to her.

"Alright, things are different now. You have to protect me, so... um, you can put it back on when we get home!" Ning Xuan said, her gaze sweeping ambiguously over his neck. ’Firm and strong outside, but soft at home... That could be fun, too.’

Back in Light City, Chen Nan had been subjected to the lecherous gazes of noble ladies before. Back then, he had only felt disgust and revulsion. But now, his Contractor’s gaze was just as improper, yet all he felt was his body heat up and his heart pound like a drum.

Chen Nan went downstairs to make breakfast. He opened the refrigerator only to find that the food he had stocked it full with had vanished into thin air. All that was left were a few pieces of low-level beast meat that Ning Xuan disdained.

Chen Nan stared at the empty refrigerator, a question mark hanging over his head. ’Did we get robbed?’ Just then, Ning Xuan came downstairs. Seeing Chen Nan’s confusion, she immediately recalled what had happened after she got home yesterday. Apparently, her internal Companion Spirit had shown signs of awakening, but for some reason, the process hadn’t gone smoothly. The production of a special energy had roused the dormant, energy-depleted Ghost-faced Red Vine, which in turn helped calm the turmoil in her blood. Afterward, she had felt ravenously hungry and... eaten everything. A whole month’s worth of food.

At this thought, Ning Xuan gave an embarrassed smile. "Um, I ate it all. How about... you buy some more!" she said, a bit sheepishly. The types of meat she liked were all specialties from A-level Stars, and they didn’t come cheap.

"Of course, Contractor. I’ll place an order right away!" Though his mind was full of questions, Chen Nan didn’t press the issue and took out his Light Computer to buy food.

"Contractor, should we go out for breakfast then?" Chen Nan asked, turning back after quickly placing the order.

"Yep, get changed. Let’s go!" Ning Xuan had little interest in the nearby restaurants. Ever since she arrived here, she had mostly eaten various kinds of meat. Edible fruits and vegetables were basically nonexistent.

After breakfast, the two took a Flying Car to the Information Registration Center in Zone D. Ning Xuan’s main purpose today was to have her Spiritual Power Value re-tested and her brain domain width measured. A staff member checked Ning Xuan’s basic information before leading her to the second floor. Once the equipment was calibrated, Ning Xuan put on the spiritual power helmet connected to the machine. It felt just like last time; she sensed a hidden stream of spiritual power probing her Sea of Consciousness. The power was very gentle and completely non-aggressive. Unlike last time, however, the spiritual power that had previously entered and retreated in an instant now lingered in her Sea of Consciousness for a full minute before withdrawing.

Ning Xuan took off the spiritual power helmet and turned to look at the staff member, only to find him staring blankly at the screen in front of him. The screen displayed a comparison of the two test results. When he saw Ning Xuan looking at him, he snapped back to his senses and said with fervent enthusiasm, "Congratulations, Ms. Ning! Your re-tested Spiritual Power Value is 875, and your assessed level is C-Level."

A Spiritual Power Value of 1-10 corresponded to Level F, 11-50 to Level E, 51-100 to Level D, and 101-1000 to Level C.

The C-Level for spiritual power was a wide range and represented a difficult watershed to cross. Ning Chuchu, for instance, had two Contractors from prominent backgrounds and had started training her spiritual power long ago. She reached C-Level three years prior, and her Spiritual Power Value had increased to 398 by last year. Wu Di’s and Wang Chen’s families then brought her to an A-level Star, providing her with the absolute best medicine for enhancing spiritual power. Despite all that, her current Spiritual Power Value was only 670.

Chen Nan also saw Ning Xuan’s test results. His expression was complex, a mixture of pleasant surprise and a touch of disappointment. In truth, when he had formed the spiritual connection with her yesterday, Chen Nan had sensed that her spiritual power was far higher than the value recorded in her file. But seeing the results today, while he was happy for her, he couldn’t help but feel a little disheartened. ’Based on today’s test results and the speed of her spiritual power growth, she’ll have no trouble breaking through to B-Level once she comes of age. A female B-Level is a Controller... By then, she’s bound to have other Contractors!’
