Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top

Chapter 169: Sealed Battlefield

Chapter 169

After seven consecutive days of bitter fighting, the three major wormholes finally completed their contraction phase and vanished completely. However, during the final half-day, creatures wreathed in black mist had surged out frantically, consuming nearly all the airspace in the three major Star Domains. The battlefields of the three Star Domains were contaminated by the black mist, and it was threatening to expand outward.

The last legions dispatched to the front lines via the Sky Curtain Space Transmission Channel were all trapped on the Star Domain Battlefield.

At the First Insect Hole Battlefield, reinforced by the Heavenly Might Corps, Yun Han stood before the command ship’s viewport, gazing at the Star Domain enveloped in black mist.

The once brilliant starry sky had been swallowed by a thick black mist, which hung like a vast, invisible net over the entire battlefield. Within the mist, countless creatures glimmering with a faint green light roamed. They came in all shapes and sizes; some were as massive as Starships, while others, no bigger than the palm of a hand, drifted like specters. The power of these creatures varied greatly, ranging from A-level to SSS-level.

The Starships Yun Han’s forces were using were all from the Heavenly Might Corps’ own arsenal. Knowing how difficult this battle would be, he had brought only the corps’ most advanced vessels.

"Marshal Yun, reporting!" an adjutant’s urgent voice crackled over the comms. "The Third Fleet is under attack by a colossal mist creature and has suffered heavy losses! We request immediate support!"

Yun Han’s brow furrowed. His fingers swiped rapidly across the control console, pulling up a holographic map of the battlefield. The black mist had fragmented the battlegrounds of the three Star Domains into countless isolated pockets, severing contact between most of the fleets. The Third Fleet was only able to send a transmission because they were currently very close.

Their planned retreat routes were also blocked by the black mist. The dozen or so legions had already been fighting nonstop for a full day and night, and their energy reserves and munitions were dangerously low. To make matters worse, the reinforcements that should have already reached the battlefield had yet to arrive, plunging them into an unprecedented crisis.

"Request the Third Fleet to share their holographic map and patch their communications into the main control room," Yun Han ordered calmly, his voice betraying no hint of panic. As the corps’ supreme commander, he was the pillar holding them all together.

"Yes, sir," the adjutant replied.

The Third Fleet belonged to the Second Legion, and its supreme commander was Lieutenant General Yang Fan. When the connection was established, Yang Fan looked as if he was about to weep with relief upon seeing Yun Han. "Marshal Yun, this is Yang Fan, supreme commander of the Third Fleet. I’ve shared our holographic map. I’m requesting that your corps join forces with us to kill the invading creature in front of us."

On the holographic map, an SSS-level invading creature, even larger than the Third Fleet’s flagship, was slowly closing in on it. The creature’s body was covered in countless tentacles that shimmered with an eerie light. Each swing triggered spatial distortions, as if space itself were twisting under its power.

"Do you have any heavy-yield weapons left? How do you propose we coordinate?" Yun Han asked.

"We’re out of heavy-yield weapons. We can act as a decoy and lure it to a position that’s more advantageous for you. If we can kill it, the military honors and any resources it drops are all yours." Yang Fan’s tone was incredibly humble. After all, he knew that as long as Yun Han had the weaponry, he could kill the creature on his own; it would just be more of a hassle. As for Yang Fan’s fleet, a few more hits from the creature and their Starship would be torn apart.

"Agreed. I’m sharing my holographic map. I’ll move toward your position."

After quickly assessing his available weaponry, Yun Han gave the order to engage, and the entire corps began to move swiftly toward the Third Fleet’s position.

Yun Han could see the situation clearly. Once they eliminated this enormous SSS-level creature, the space occupied by the Third Fleet and the Heavenly Might Corps would merge into a single, larger safe zone. With their two fleets combined, they could then start clearing a path outward and should be able to locate the other legions quickly.

「At the main command center for the three battlefields.」

The commander was railing against the Elder Council, accusing them of wantonly sacrificing lives. The council had refused to authorize the reopening of the Sky Curtain Space Transmission Channel. Their reasoning was twofold: first, opening the channel would consume an immense amount of energy. Second, the spatial environment in the three battlefield zones was currently unstable, meaning that even if the channel were opened, safe transmission could not be guaranteed.

The Elder Council stated that while they could not open the Sky Curtain Space Transmission Channel, the research academy had developed a specific potion to counter the black mist. They had already mobilized a large quantity of supplies, including the potion and weapons, and would use smaller-scale transmission channels to deliver them to the battlefield, ensuring logistical support for the stranded forces. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

With the wormholes gone and the battlefield sealed off, no more wounded were being transported back from the front lines. For the moment, Ning Xuan’s medical support work came to a halt.

With time on her hands, she tried to contact Yun Han, wanting to ask when he would be coming back.

However, when she called Yun Han’s communicator, she couldn’t get through. Sensing that something was wrong, Ning Xuan began to inquire about the situation on the Insect Hole Battlefield.

Ning Xuan soon learned that the Insect Hole Battlefield had been sealed off to prevent the black mist from spreading, trapping over a dozen legions. The Heavenly Might Corps reinforcement unit led by Yun Han was among them.

Just as Ning Xuan was worried sick about Yun Han, the Controller Protection Association delivered a huge shipment of raw materials for refining the Alienation Value Clearing Potion, along with a large quantity of pure Fire Energy Stones.

The Association asked Ning Xuan to refine more of the same Alienation Value Clearing Potion she had provided before. According to feedback from the front lines, the potion she refined was even more potent than those created by many Alchemy Masters.

In light of this discovery, the Alchemist Association had even run special tests on Ning Xuan’s potions. Although their purity and formula were nearly identical to those produced by other Alchemy Masters, for some unknown reason, clinical results showed that Ning Xuan’s potions had a 100% efficacy rate, far surpassing those provided by any other Alchemist.

As soon as Ning Xuan learned that the Association would be sending these potions to the Insect Hole Battlefield through small transmission channels, she immediately threw herself back into her alchemy, dedicating all her energy to the task.

Ning Xuan was already well-practiced in creating this potion, boasting high success and material efficiency rates. Her daily output far exceeded the Association’s expectations.

Although Ning Xuan couldn’t get through to Yun Han’s communicator, she was able to pinpoint his approximate location using the Contract Slave Necklace. She gave the coordinates to the vice president of the Controller Protection Association, asking him to have a specific crate sent to that very spot. A precise, targeted transmission would consume more energy, but given how many potions Ning Xuan had provided, the Association was happy to grant her this favor.

And so, far away on the vast, sealed-off battlefield, just as he finished eliminating the colossal SSS-level invading creature and was taking stock of the casualties, Yun Han received a delivery from Ning Xuan: twenty thousand potions and a letter from home.
