"Don’t talk nonsense. She’s President Yu’s Contractor. If she so much as frowns, the Lord General will kick me out," Feng Linran said, his expression rather dejected.

"The Lord General’s Divine Soul has only just returned. I don’t know if he can adapt to what he did before," Feng Linran said cryptically, but the man beside him immediately understood what he meant.

"President Yu had that procedure... for her?" The man clearly knew that Yu Mingche had undergone a womb implant procedure.

His eyes lit up as if he had just heard some major gossip.

Ning Xuan spent the afternoon shopping with Tang Xue, Shen Wenwen, and the others. Besides clothes, they also bought a lot of miscellaneous trinkets and snacks. As the sky began to darken, Chen Nan arrived to pick her up.

After returning from the New Star Body, Ning Xuan had arranged for everyone around her to take a vacation. Lan Xin joined the military, Di Youlin and Chen Nan went home to visit their families, and Lin Mo returned to the Second Legion. Yun Han had met his parents in private. After a lecture from Ning Xuan, she sent him on a trip to the Heavenly Might Corps, and he had not yet returned.

Only Nine-tailed, having nowhere else to go, remained by her side.

Di Youlin had since returned from home, but his parents came and caused a scene. In a huff, Di Youlin followed Chairman Wang back to Room 701 at the Training Institute.

"Didn’t I tell you to take some time off? Why are you back so soon?" Ning Xuan asked when she saw Chen Nan had come to get her.

"It’s not tiring being by your side, Contractor. When I’m not with you, I feel uneasy." Chen Nan was speaking from the heart.

He used to pale at the mere mention of a Contract, always trying to find a way out so he could be his own master. Back then, he never would have imagined that one day he would be scheming just to stay by his Contractor’s side.

"Alright, do as you please," Ning Xuan said nonchalantly.

Back at the villa, Ning Xuan first went to Yu Mingche’s courtyard. Yan Fuzhen had already settled Yu Mingche in as she had requested.

Yu Mingche was lying on the bed, still in a deep sleep. Ning Xuan checked his pulse, inserted a few needles into his abdomen where his meridians were severely blocked, and channeled the pure energy refined within her own meridians into Yu Mingche’s body to repair the damage from the blockages.

Although Yu Mingche’s body had fallen into a deep sleep due to the medicine, his Divine Sense had not. His spiritual power was at an incredible Level, and he was an expert in Spiritual Domain Spells.

However, his Divine Soul had only just returned to his body, and the medicine Ning Xuan had given him was potent. Thus, his Divine Sense could only remain trapped within his body.

After drinking the medicine, Yu Mingche felt a warm energy rush to his abdomen, impacting the area around the womb implant.

’The energy seems to be trying to unblock the meridians that were damaged by the procedure. But with a foreign object like the womb implant inside my body... even though half a year has passed and blood circulation is established, the surrounding meridians are completely blocked. The two streams of light tore at each other, congealing into a mass within his meridians. A sharp, stabbing pain shot through him, and Yu Mingche couldn’t help but let out a groan.

Ning Xuan was using her own energy to sort through the latent injuries in his body. Hearing his groan, she jumped in surprise. ’The medicine I concocted is called "Three-Day Sleep" for a reason—it’s supposed to put someone into a deep sleep for three days and three nights. It’s only been half a day. Could Yu Mingche be waking up already?’

After groaning, Yu Mingche immediately tried to force his eyes open, but no matter how he struggled, his eyelids wouldn’t budge. He then tried to lift his hands and feet, but they remained motionless.

Ning Xuan examined him and found that his internal condition had improved. It seemed her treatment had been effective.

Yu Mingche could sense Ning Xuan by his side, so he could also guess that the golden energy was what she was channeling into him. And though the pain had been unbearable just moments ago, the several critical, previously blocked acupoints in his abdomen were now clear. His body felt a degree lighter.

Yu Mingche focused on suppressing his own energy, allowing the golden energy to run rampant through his body.

Although implanting a womb was a mature technology with no risk to one’s life, the first six months after the procedure were excruciating for the recipient due to the foreign object. Yu Mingche had attached his Divine Soul to his Companion Spirit’s body and only returned after that half-year period had passed. While he had avoided the most severe phase of his body’s rejection response, the fusion between the implant and his body was still flawed because his Companion Spirit had not been present within him.

Yu Mingche had estimated it would take at least another half a year for a complete fusion. But after drinking the single tube of medicine from Ning Xuan, the faint sense of discomfort he’d been feeling had vanished completely.

Ning Xuan left after finishing Yu Mingche’s treatment. The next morning, she went to the Military Department to collect her rewards. The prizes were numerous and varied. When she collected the reward for the Spiritual Cultivation Secret Realm, she was asked many questions about the Dark Forest to ensure that her team had indeed completed the mission on their own.

When she collected the reward for the Golden Sand Sea mission, she was similarly subjected to a detailed interrogation.

However, despite the hassle, she ultimately managed to claim all of her rewards.

Ning Xuan planned to make a trip to the Spiritual Cultivation Secret Realm before going to see Ying Yaoshi, so she looked up more information about this particular realm.

When Ning Xuan returned to the villa, she again went to Yu Mingche’s courtyard first.

"You’re awake? How are you feeling?" Ning Xuan asked with concern, seeing that Yu Mingche was conscious and had a healthy complexion.

"I feel wonderful. You truly have a unique talent for Alchemy, Contractor. My injuries are much better," Yu Mingche said, smiling gently as he touched his abdomen. He looked very handsome. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"That’s good. The medicine is quite potent; normally, it would make someone sleep for three days straight. Even though you’re awake now, you shouldn’t get out of bed for the next two days. I’m going to my graduation ceremony tomorrow, so you just rest here," Ning Xuan said, caringly placing her fingers on his pulse point.

"Yes, as you command, Contractor." Yu Mingche felt a warmth spread through his heart, being fussed over and cared for by a girl so much younger than himself.

’In his mind, Ning Xuan must have found out that he had undergone the womb implant procedure for her. That had to be why she concocted the perfect medicine for his condition, and why she was being so caring, gentle, and considerate.’

Ning Xuan’s actions made him feel that he had made the right choice.
