"You underestimate me. My Spiritual Power Level won’t be this low forever. Don’t resist. Open your Spiritual Sea and let me in!" Ning Xuan pressed her forehead against his. This was the first step in forming the Contract: establishing a spiritual connection.

In truth, establishing a spiritual connection was best done when the two parties had similar power levels. If the disparity in Spiritual Power Level was too great, it posed a certain risk to the person with the lower level.

Seeing her insistence, Chen Nan had no choice but to open his Spiritual Sea. ’With Little Jin suppressed right now,’ he thought, ’I suppose I can’t hurt her anyway.’

Multicolored clusters of light gathered and dispersed around her, having no fixed form. She continued deeper and, in the depths of the Spiritual Sea, saw a large golden bird huddled with its wings tucked in. A black substance flowed within its body, and a red mist shrouded it. When it looked over, its eyes were filled with moisture, giving it a pitiful, heart-rending appearance.

Ning Xuan tapped a finger to the spot between her eyebrows. The tendril of spiritual power that had entered Chen Nan’s Spiritual Sea exploded with a BANG, transforming into a long, white rope of light. It wrapped tightly around the golden bird and began to seep into its body, bit by bit. The moment the black substance within the great bird encountered the white rope of light, it instantly seemed to melt away, gradually fading.
