Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top

Ning Xuan and her group had a very fruitful trip to the Panshi Safety Zone.

Although the prices for Exotic Beast Meat, Exotic Plants, and other materials were quite low there, the same was true for the things Ning Xuan wanted to buy. Various medicinal Exotic Plants, weapon-forging materials, and ores were also very cheap. Additionally, Lan Xin and the others managed to acquire three items suspected of originating from the Primitive Civilization Ruins.

Qinghe hadn’t been able to join Ning Xuan on the trip to the Panshi Safety Zone. He had been filled with a brutal energy recently, nearly wiping out all the Exotic Beasts along the first half of the route from the Spiritual Spring Valley to the safety zone.

If Ning Xuan hadn’t given prior orders not to eliminate the few powerful Exotic Beasts surrounding the Spiritual Spring Valley for its protection, those last few probably wouldn’t have survived either.

Ning Xuan learned the origin of the spatial bracelet on Yun Han’s wrist that very day. At the same time, Yun Han told her that the Heavenly Might Corps was stationed in the Jiujiang Security Zone, which was one of the thirteen major security zones on the New Star Body.

After sharing this information, Yun Han expressed his hope that Ning Xuan would go to the Jiujiang Security Zone. He promised he could provide her with the best and safest environment there.

Ning Xuan declined.

The environment in the Spiritual Spring Valley was certainly more primitive than that of a large security zone, but the energy here was dense, making it perfect for cultivating the other type of energy within her body.

While in the Panshi Safety Zone, Ning Xuan had noticed that while large security zones were built in locations with relatively dense energy, they paled in comparison to the Spiritual Spring Valley.

Besides, to improve her living conditions, Ning Xuan had purchased numerous supplies in the Panshi Safety Zone and completely redecorated her cave dwelling.

First, she found a type of stone called Sunshine Stone at the trade center. It emitted a warm glow, much like sunlight. Aside from its luminescence, the authorities hadn’t discovered any other uses for it, so it was inexpensive.

Ning Xuan bought many of them and embedded them into the stone walls of her dwelling. A screen of soft white light rippled through the space like water, and she felt the originally damp, cold air instantly become dry and warm.

The large, stone-built bed in the center of the cave had been replaced with a Purple Sandalwood canopy bed.

Ning Xuan had spent a fortune on the Purple Sandalwood at the Panshi Safety Zone’s market. Wang Yue built the bed according to blueprints she provided. To save time, it was made without any extra decorations or complex designs, simply crafted in the style of an enclosed canopy bed.

Exquisite curtains of light blue satin completely concealed the large bed.

Against the west wall stood a curio cabinet made of Xuantie Wood. A mirror sat on the top shelf, the black staff was displayed on the middle shelf, and the bottom shelf was neatly lined with fifty or sixty White Jade Medicine Bottles filled with various potions Ning Xuan had concocted.

Her familiar Panlong Purple Pattern Refining Furnace was placed in the southwest corner of the cave. She was used to this Alchemy Furnace, and even though her Space Button was unusable, she had still brought it with her.

After arranging the main furniture, Ning Xuan took twelve Array Flags from her Ring Space. These small, apricot-colored flags, embroidered with golden-threaded runes, flew automatically to the corners of the room. As they landed, they sent out faint golden ripples. This was a Spirit Gathering Array from the Primitive Civilization Ruins, capable of concentrating energy, another treasure Ning Xuan had spent a fortune to acquire.

At the back of the cave, another chamber had been carved out to serve as a bathroom.

After these modifications, the comfort level of Ning Xuan’s room increased significantly.

On the way back, Ning Xuan sensed that she had lost her connection to the Vine Silk she had planted inside Xie Heng. It was unlikely that the Vine Silk had been discovered, so it was highly probable that Xie Heng was dead, causing the parasitic vine to disappear from his body.

Ning Xuan’s group brought back many other things as well. Using the various materials, Wang Yue and Wang Teng built two more armed mechanical vehicles and three mining vehicles.

Zhang Nan had discovered a rich Level 5 Energy Stone Mine in the northern part of the Spiritual Spring Valley. Now that they possessed a Space Storage Treasure, they decided to start mining it. Energy Stones served as a universal currency in the Federation, not only aiding in Cultivation but also powering Mechas and Starships.

Ning Xuan purchased a large batch of medicinal ingredients required for Body Refining Potions. Upon returning to the Spiritual Spring Valley, she went into seclusion to focus on alchemy.

’She urgently needed to understand the other energy in her blood. In fact, she had sensed its presence as far back as her first Body Refinement, perhaps even earlier. It had just been too faint, almost undetectable under the suppression of her Fire Element Energy.’

To solve this mystery, she sought out Yun Han, Lin Mo, and Di Youlin to ask them about Companion Spirits.

"Do Spirit Controllers only ever awaken one Companion Spirit? Are there any exceptions?" Ning Xuan asked.

"Everyone’s bloodline comes from both parents. In theory, the Mutant Beast Genes from either parent could awaken as a Companion Spirit, but in practice, very few people successfully awaken two," Yun Han was the first to answer.

Lin Mo nodded in agreement and added, "There was once a case where someone awakened a second Companion Spirit after their first one died unexpectedly. However, the later one was very weak, not nearly as powerful as the initial Companion Spirit."

"What about two Companion Spirits coexisting at the same time?" Ning Xuan asked.

"It’s been recorded in history," Di Youlin said. "The coexistence of two Companion Spirits indicates a relatively even balance between two different Exotic Beast bloodlines. This condition is actually extremely dangerous. The probability of one’s body exploding is very high. Even if they manage to awaken both, it results in a frail constitution. Such cases eventually faded from existence."

"Oh, I see." Ning Xuan nodded thoughtfully.

’She didn’t tell them about her own situation. For one, she knew it would be pointless; she couldn’t just stop her Cultivation. For another, she felt her body could withstand the other energy. She decided she would try to sense it again.’

In the days that followed, Ning Xuan hunted by day and focused on her Cultivation by night, also finding time to practice alchemy. After successfully creating the Body Refining Potion, she underwent three medicinal baths for Body Refinement. She also distributed the potion to Chen Nan, Lin Mo, and the others so they could refine their bodies as well.

The Body Refining Potion was highly effective. Her meridians and bones became noticeably tougher, and even her strength, muscular endurance, explosive power, and agility had all improved.

When hunting, her Combat Power was now even greater than that of Lin Mo, who had an SS-level Comprehensive Combat Power.

Aside from combat, Yun Han had the most direct experience of the changes in Ning Xuan’s physique. During their ’bedtime exercises’ these past few days, he’d been feeling a little weak and unable to keep up.
