The teaching process wasn’t difficult. Anyone in the Doomsday World who could awaken an Extraordinary Power on their own was a genius.

In the Cyber World, they would be akin to the Grandmasters who first established the Extraordinary Professions back in the Middle Ages.

Xia Chu got the hang of it quickly.

She could manipulate water, directly changing its state and energy density.

The upper limits of this Ability were quite high. Lin Qi was optimistic about her future.

Once Xia Chu began her Meditation, Lin Qi took the two remaining Tier One Extraordinary Crystal Stones from the lab. He then left and entered another empty room.

There were still fewer than four hundred survivors on the entire sixth floor. Even with everyone gathered there, plenty of rooms remained empty.

Against the backdrop of the apocalypse, the survivors instinctively banded together for a sense of security.

Lin Qi tossed the Strength Type stone aside without a second thought.

The Ability a Wizard obtained from analyzing an Extraordinary Item was strongly correlated with the item’s type. For Lin Qi, a strength-based Extraordinary Ability was almost completely useless.

In the Cyber World, hand-to-hand combat was virtually nonexistent.

Even for Extraordinary Professions like Martial Artists and Knights, which valued physical prowess, combat still relied almost entirely on technological weapons.

A strong body could withstand powerful recoil, or even an explosion at point-blank range.

’Spiritual Power is the foundation of a Wizard. Spiritual Class Extraordinary Items probably went extinct in the Cyber World long ago. Only the Doomsday World can still produce them.’

Placing the Extraordinary Item before him, Lin Qi began the analysis without a shred of hesitation.

The tentacles had become tangible.

’The reach of my Spiritual Power isn’t very far—only one percent of my Spiritual Vision’s range. My Spiritual Vision covers one hundred seventy meters, so what’s the use of a tentacle that’s barely over a meter long?’

Frustrated, Lin Qi used his Spiritual Tentacles to wrap around a chair in the conference room.

As he was swinging it, Lin Qi suddenly realized something.

’Isn’t this a little too easy?’

The chair wasn’t heavy, but it did have a metal frame. It shouldn’t have felt completely weightless.

He subconsciously directed his remaining Spiritual Tentacles to wrap around and cling to the chair.

There were over a dozen tentacles in total, and they coiled densely around the chair.

The thought had barely formed, and he hadn’t even used his full strength.

Before Lin Qi’s eyes, the metal-framed chair rapidly deformed, crushed and twisted by the dozen or so tentacles as if it were modeling clay.

Back when he was under the influence of the Holy Light, his Spiritual Power and physical body had been on the verge of merging. Lin Qi had a feeling that if the transformation had completed, the physical strength of his Tentacle Monster form would have been second to no other Extraordinary Profession.

He withdrew his Spiritual Power. The writhing tentacles receded back into his Spiritual Domain, impossible to perceive by any means.

’My four Tier One Wizard abilities... they’re a pretty sinister combination.’

As Lin Qi took stock of his four current abilities, he felt each one was more sinister than the last.

This was completely beyond the level of power a Tier One Extraordinary Professional should possess.

Spiritual Vision gave him near-omniscience within a one-hundred-seventy-meter radius.

Blood Manipulation could, within the range of his Spiritual Vision, give someone a blood clot with a single glance. Heart attacks, strokes—all easily arranged. For an even more wicked touch, he could even... affect a man’s performance.

Then there was Momentum Manipulation, another sinister tool that Lin Qi had yet to fully explore.

And finally, Spiritual Power Materialization. If someone with killing intent managed to break through his one-hundred-seventy-meter Spiritual Vision, they would be met with the fists of more than ten invisible, ton-class tentacles.

Even a Martial Artist might not be able to withstand that kind of close-quarters combat.

Lin Qi didn’t know if this was an issue with the Wizard Profession itself, or if it was unique to him.

’It’s most likely the former,’ Lin Qi guessed.

There had to be a reason for the Witch Hunt, after all.

Lin Qi suspected some bigwig in the European Administrative Region had been screwed over by a Wizard Professional, prompting them to organize a continent-wide Witch Hunt.

’Could the one who offended the European Administrative Region have been the Wizard from the Liu Clan?’

All sorts of ideas flashed through Lin Qi’s mind.

His myriad thoughts were cut short by a commotion from the hallway.

The lights in the room flickered, then went out completely.

It wasn’t a problem with the lights.

The problem, he feared, was... the power grid.

A week had passed since the start of the apocalypse. The power system, which had held on until now, had finally given out completely.

From this moment on, the survivors of the Doomsday World would have to adapt to an environment without electricity.

Without power, those survivors still waiting for rescue wouldn’t even be able to use their radios.

Lin Qi left the room and headed for the workshop to meet with Wang Ziru.
