A nuke?

A flicker of confusion crossed Wu Peihe’s face as he turned to look at Ding Yang.

Ding Yang hadn’t expected Lin Qi to actually make a play for the nuclear bomb either.

Ostensibly, he needed the materials from the nuke to build a reactor.

But who could guarantee Lin Qi wouldn’t use it for something else?

That was a nuclear bomb!

A nuke that could be detonated at any moment.

"Lin Qi, this is..."

Ding Yang also looked troubled.

Wu Peihe, however, regained his composure after his initial confusion passed.

Wu Peihe cut Ding Yang off. "Lin Qi, we absolutely cannot give you the nuclear bomb. It wasn’t used in Modu this time, so I must bring it back to Headquarters."

Ding Yang glanced from Wu Peihe to Lin Qi, his expression strained.

He hadn’t expected Wu Peihe to refuse so decisively.

He hadn’t left any room for negotiation.

Fortunately, Wu Peihe’s next words allowed Ding Yang to breathe a sigh of relief. "However, once I return to Headquarters, I can submit an application for a certain quantity of mixed plutonium fuel for the Mo University Camp."

Wu Peihe’s reasoning was very clear.

The nuke was out of the question. If the Mo University Camp managed to set it off, no one could bear that responsibility.

But the reason Lin Qi gave was to build a nuclear reactor for power generation.

That left some room for compromise.

Headquarters had a stockpile of mixed plutonium fuel, and it was a processed, downgraded nuclear material.

Without large-scale equipment, it would be difficult to restore it to weapons-grade fissile material, making it impossible to build a nuke. However, it was more than enough to build a reactor.

Lin Qi nodded, understanding Wu Peihe’s line of thought.

He was, in fact, going to use it to build a large-scale reactor, so his requirements for the grade and type of nuclear material weren’t that high.

As for a nuke?

Lin Qi really had no desire to use such a weapon.

S-Class Weapons were much better than nukes—they were environmentally friendly and hassle-free!

The pressure on Wu Peihe and Ding Yang instantly lessened a great deal.

This was especially true for Ding Yang. After this was over, Wu Peihe could just dust off his hands and head back to Headquarters, but Ding Yang himself would have to continue dealing with Lin Qi.

Ding Yang was tasked with holding Hongshan District, and there were no closer or stronger reinforcements than the Mo University Camp.

If any incident occurred, Ding Yang’s best support would always be the Mo University Camp, not Headquarters.

Ding Yang continued his discussion with Lin Qi. "Lin Qi, to be frank, we came here for another important matter."

"First, we need to inspect the Tier Three Crystal Stone to confirm the death of the monster in Beining District."

"Second, we wanted to ask you what happened to those suspected Moon Worshipers you discovered earlier."

Based on Wu Peihe’s inspection, it was confirmed that Beining District was no longer in a fallen state.

However, according to official protocol, they still needed evidence like photographs and written statements to create a paper file.

Lin Qi turned and instructed Wang Ziru, "Go to the sixth-floor conference room and bring down the box I left on the table. The Extraordinary Crystal Stone is inside."

Upon hearing this, Wang Ziru immediately left the conference room.

Then, Lin Qi addressed the matter of the Moon Worshipers with Ding Yang. "The Moon Worshipers? I’m not sure about them. They might have evacuated ahead of time. I didn’t see them."

Lin Qi was lying about Wei Yue and the others.

Driven by his need for Extraordinary knowledge, Lin Qi had placed Wei Yue and the others under house arrest in the Mo University Camp.

But this was not something the officials should know about.

Lin Qi could tell the officials were extremely sensitive about the Moon Worshipers, giving off a strong "must be annihilated" vibe.

"You didn’t see them?"

Wu Peihe frowned.

But then he remembered the scene of Lin Qi piloting the Mecha to destroy the Tier Three Monster.

Not long after the Tier Three Monster was destroyed, Lin Qi had woken him up.

And Wu Peihe had indeed not seen any trace of the Moon Worshipers.

From this, it seemed Lin Qi wasn’t lying.

There was no way Wu Peihe could have imagined that before the Tier Three Monster was even dealt with, Lin Qi had already used the so-called identity of the "Blood Moon Envoy" to lead all the Moon Worshipers out of Beining District.

Overall, the atmosphere of the meeting was positive, and everyone left the conference room smiling.

Before leaving, Wu Peihe made a special point to reassure him. "Lin Qi, please rest assured. Within three days, Headquarters will definitely have the promised mixed plutonium fuel delivered to Modu. Old Ding will be in charge of the transport."

Lin Qi expressed his satisfaction and promised to share a "new" research finding with Ding Yang after the materials arrived.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Ding Yang and Wu Peihe left the Mo University Camp.

Lin Qi and Wang Ziru returned to the sixth floor of the Club Activity Building.

Lin Qi didn’t rush back to the conference room. There were still a few hours until the cooldown for the[Door]was complete.

There was still serious business to attend to.

"Arrange for a few teams with strong psychological fortitude, preferably with medical backgrounds. Have them collect a batch of limbs, flesh, and various organs from Tier One Zombies for me. Collect them by type, and store them by type."
