Ding Yang sounded incredibly decisive, as if he hadn’t given it a second thought.

But in truth, Ding Yang felt like a stampede of ten thousand wild beasts was thundering through his heart.

He couldn’t help but feel that their roles had been reversed.

’What could a mere place like Hongshan Camp possibly do to help Lin Qi?’

’If it was a problem even for Lin Qi, how could Hongshan Camp possibly have a solution?’

’Ding Yang felt that Lin Qi alone, piloting that Mecha, could probably wipe out the entire Hongshan Camp.’

’And that wasn’t even counting the numerous squads back at the Mo University Camp, full of energetic and formidable college students...’

"Thank you, Director Ding. In that case, I’ll get straight to the point."

Without even asking his team to help Hongshan Camp unload the supplies first, Lin Qi stated his request directly.

"Director Ding, to be perfectly honest, I’m in urgent need of a few Tier Two Extraordinary Items. The Mo University Camp is completely out, so I have no choice but to ask Hongshan Camp for help."

"We at the Mo University Camp have been so focused on construction that we’ve rarely ventured far from Mo University grounds and have hardly encountered any Tier Two monsters. But since Hongshan Camp has been rescuing survivors for so long, I thought you might have some in stock, Director Ding."

Lin Qi made his request directly. Tier Two Extraordinary Items weren’t considered particularly precious.

Unlike Tier Three monsters, they weren’t that hard to deal with. With the right equipment and preparation, you could blast them to bits with conventional firearms.

The fact that Ding Yang had been able to offer a Tier Two Extraordinary Item as a gift to Lin Qi before was a testament to this.

"Tier Two Extraordinary Items?"

Ding Yang froze for a moment.

He never imagined that after all that, this was what Lin Qi was after.

For Hongshan Camp, Tier Two Extraordinary Items truly weren’t that precious.

After all, Hongshan Camp had absolutely no way of using them. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Even when they obtained them, they were required by regulation to hand them over to Headquarters.

He’d heard that Headquarters had developed some methods for their use, but that information was classified and hadn’t been shared with the regional camps.

A troubled expression crossed Ding Yang’s face. "According to Headquarters regulations, if a regional camp like ours obtains Tier Two Extraordinary Items, we’re required to turn them over. If any are unofficially transferred, the entire camp could face disciplinary action..."

Ding Yang seemed conflicted, then added, "The Tier Two Extraordinary Item I gave you before, Lin Qi, was actually reported to and approved by Headquarters. But now..."

Lin Qi’s smile faded a little.

He understood Ding Yang’s attitude.

’It wasn’t that he was unwilling to give them to me. Bringing up Headquarters was just a pretext.’

Furthermore, Ding Yang had brought up the matter of the previous Tier Two Extraordinary Item he’d given Lin Qi.

That made things rather interesting.

Coming from the Cyber World, Lin Qi easily read between the lines of Ding Yang’s words.

’He could give them to me!’

’But this truckload of supplies wasn’t enough!’

’I’d have to offer a benefit great enough for him to shoulder the so-called risk of being punished by Headquarters and make this trade with me.’

After all, between sister organizations, you had to consider both goodwill and mutual benefit.

Lin Qi thought for a moment and quickly came up with a plan.

’Supplies?’

’Equipment?’

’Technology?’

’While Ding Yang needed those things, even if he got them, they wouldn’t solve the immediate predicament facing Hongshan Camp.’

’Especially technology. Even if I gave it to Ding Yang, he could only follow procedure and hand it over to Headquarters. Then Headquarters would approve the corresponding Tier Two Extraordinary Items for me.’

"The Mo University Camp has recently developed a new technology called the Body Enhancement Potion and has pioneered a corresponding field of Pharmacy."

"Furthermore, our Pharmacy research is already quite mature, and we’ve developed M-Class and L-Class Potions."

"When taken under the right conditions, they are potent enough to turn an ordinary person into a Tier Two Extraordinary within the treatment period."

Lin Qi dropped a bombshell, using the Potions as bait to hook Ding Yang.

This was undoubtedly a temptation Ding Yang couldn’t possibly resist.

The Zombies in this apocalypse were growing stronger, and the defensive pressure on Hongshan Camp was mounting.

In a month, maybe two, the Zombies would begin to reach Tier Two on a massive scale.

The thought of every previous encounter Hongshan Camp had with Tier Two monsters made Ding Yang shudder.

Every time meant damage; every time meant sacrifice.

For every single Tier Two Crystal Stone, a Warrior had paid with their life.

This was the main reason Ding Yang hoped the Tier Two Extraordinary Items could achieve their true worth in a trade with Lin Qi.

The cost behind them was simply too great.

"Potions? Tier Two Extraordinaries?"

Ding Yang’s eyes were wide.

He had considered all sorts of reasons why Lin Qi might need Extraordinary Items, even guessing that Lin Qi’s own Extraordinary Power required their aid.

But he had never, ever considered this possibility.

’Extraordinary Items could actually be used to develop a whole new field of study?’

’Did Lin Qi develop this?’

’Then what about Headquarters? What had Headquarters managed to research with these things?’
