’This is a good chance to make a trip to Hongshan Camp. I’ll meet with Ding Yang first and see if Hongshan Camp has acquired any new Tier Two Extraordinary Items recently.’

’If possible, I need to carefully select some Extraordinary Items to analyze and research different combinations for my Wizard Abilities.’

For a Wizard from the Cyber World, Lin Qi’s line of thinking was simply extravagant.

They would be lucky just to have any Extraordinary Items to analyze at all.

And here Lin Qi was, being picky!

The vast majority of Wizards in the Cyber World had a hodgepodge of Abilities; very few could put together a finely-tuned set.

Most Wizards might have one Ability focused on the physical body, while their next could be for countering Prosthetic Bodies.

Wizards like Liu Xingzhou, whose Abilities were mostly geared toward countering Prosthetic Bodies, were a minority. He had most likely leveraged the resources of Liu’s Heavy Industries to collect more than one Extraordinary Item of the corresponding Level and pick and choose from them.

Having solidified his plan, Lin Qi walked out of the conference room and found Wang Ziru.

"Boss, what are your orders!"

The moment Wang Ziru saw Lin Qi, he broke into a smile and greeted him with utmost enthusiasm.

"Prepare the batch of equipment I promised to bring to Hongshan Camp. I’m making a trip there."

Upon receiving Lin Qi’s order, Wang Ziru immediately sprang into action.

After arranging for several squads to load the relevant equipment onto a truck, Wang Ziru personally escorted Lin Qi to the parking lot.

Standing next to Lin Qi, Wang Ziru hesitated for a moment. After Lin Qi stared at him for a second, he decided to speak his mind. "Boss, we’ve run into some difficulties with the camp’s construction."

"The main issue is the construction of the reactor. We have enough nuclear fuel from Hongshan Camp, but there are some technical hurdles that still require your help, Boss."

Only then did Lin Qi remember the nuclear power plant they had planned to build. He’d been so busy the past couple of days that it had slipped his mind.

"I’ll make a trip to the construction site when I get back from Hongshan Camp."

The Mo University Camp’s electricity problem needed to be addressed urgently.

Right now, all of the Mo University Camp’s power came from the micro-reactors Lin Qi had brought from the Cyber World.

Although these things weren’t expensive and Lin Qi could continuously bring more from the Cyber World, Lin Qi didn’t think that was a permanent solution.

’The Doomsday World’s development can’t rely solely on me ferrying supplies from the Cyber World.’

’The basic infrastructure has to be set up properly. Whether it’s to save myself trouble later or to avoid scrutiny from the Dragon Country officials in the Doomsday World, this work has to be done right.’

After agreeing to Wang Ziru’s request, Lin Qi got into the truck’s passenger seat.

A squad arranged by Wang Ziru was responsible for driving and escorting him.

One squad member drove the vehicle, while the other three, fully armed, used their Exoskeletons’ electromagnetic adhesion to remain firmly in a half-kneeling position on top of the truck, standing guard.

This trip required them to leave the Mo University Camp.

There were still quite a few Zombies on the road.

If they encountered mutated Zombies, the vehicle could easily be damaged, so they needed to be prepared.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Lin Qi didn’t let his guard down either. He kept his Spiritual Vision active the entire time, scanning for nearby Zombies.

’It wasn’t for any particular reason, just the off chance he might run into a Tier Two monster on the way.’

’Killing it myself would save some trouble and mean he owed Hongshan Camp one less favor.’

Unfortunately, Tier Two monsters weren’t a dime a dozen just yet; Lin Qi couldn’t expect to run into one so easily.

For now, the Doomsday World was still dominated by common monsters.

However, most Zombies now had the combat power of the second or even Third Stage of Tier One.

Ordinary small-caliber firearms were no longer enough for self-defense against such Zombies.

’Looks like the pressure on ordinary people to survive in the Doomsday World will only continue to grow.’

’Even fully armed official camps will face increasing pressure from the Zombies.’

’No wonder the Dragon Country officials were using public radio channels to urge ordinary people to do their best to eliminate Zombies in the early days of the apocalypse. It seems they saw this coming.’

Originally, Lin Qi had thought the Dragon Country officials’ Extraordinary were getting stronger at an incredible rate.

But now, it seemed that wasn’t nearly enough.

That was just the top-tier combat power. The ones truly responsible for the safety of the doomsday survivors were the various local rescue teams.

The growth of the mid-to-low-tier combatants was too slow, and the sheer number of Zombies was too large.

When the Zombies grew universally stronger, reaching the Tier One Limit or even Tier Two, many camps would probably fall completely.

’This isn’t something I should be worrying about. Given the Dragon Country officials’ usual M.O., they probably made contingency plans long ago.’

’What I should be considering is the Mo University Camp. Its defenses need to be further strengthened, and I have to get the survivors’ combat capabilities up as quickly as possible. At the very least, everyone needs to reach the Tier One Limit.’

Lin Qi calculated mentally. He had to invest more energy into the construction of the Mo University Camp.

The truck moved forward at a steady, unhurried pace.

One after another, Electromagnetic Kinetic Energy Bullets shot from the gun barrels, striking the Zombies’ heads.

Every time the squad went out, they were clearing Zombies to reduce the future defensive pressure.

This wasn’t a requirement set by Lin Qi, but a protocol established by Wang Ziru based on the changing doomsday environment.

Lin Qi was quite satisfied with the squad’s performance.

In this apocalyptic environment, most of the students from the Mo University Camp had grown into competent Warriors.

Before the truck reached Hongshan Camp, it was spotted by their sentries.

They quickly returned to Hongshan Camp to report it.

By the time the truck had circled around, shaken off the zombie horde drawn by their movements, and come to a steady stop at Hongshan Camp, Ding Yang was already there to greet them.

The sentries had spotted Lin Qi in the passenger seat through their binoculars.

Lin Qi’s distinctive Exoskeleton was very eye-catching.

"Lin Qi, we just parted ways yesterday. What brings you to Hongshan Camp today?"

Seeing Lin Qi, Ding Yang was actually a little puzzled.

They had just met yesterday. Given Lin Qi’s personality, he should have been focused on the construction of the Mo University Camp.

Ding Yang’s perception of Lin Qi was still somewhat inaccurate.

He thought that Lin Qi’s usual secluded Meditation was actually time spent developing one piece of super-advanced tech after another for the Mo University Camp.

So why was Lin Qi suddenly smiling at him today?

Ding Yang looked at the truck. Usually, when either side showed up with a truck, it was to trade supplies.

As allied camps, after seeing Hongshan Camp’s difficulties yesterday, it’s only natural that I come to lend a helping hand today."

As Lin Qi spoke, his squad members opened the truck’s cargo bay.

It was packed to the brim with a newly produced batch of Electromagnetic Weapons and Exoskeleton Equipment.

Ding Yang found it hard to believe, his eyes widening even further.

Nine-tenths of this felt wrong. Scratch that, it was ten-tenths wrong.

’Allied camps... lending a helping hand...’

’Were these words that could actually come from Lin Qi?’

Not even that shrewd operator from the Mo University Camp, Wang Ziru, would say something like this to him. Yet Lin Qi, this aloof genius, had said it.

Ding Yang started to sense a familiar pattern.

Bracing himself, Ding Yang expressed his thanks. "Well then, thank you, Lin Qi."

The smile on Lin Qi’s face gradually faded, replaced by a troubled expression. "To be honest, Director Ding, there is an important matter I need your help with on this trip."

The dagger was revealed!

This was a pattern Ding Yang knew all too well.
