Lin Qi focused his attention on the people.

These were the same people he had spotted earlier via aerial footage from his reconnaissance drone.

According to Ding Yang, these people were the "Moon Worshipers."

’There are seven of them in total. Not a lot.’

He first did a headcount. There were only seven people in the building, and all of them were on the rooftop.

Lin Qi also located their living quarters on the middle floors of the building, in an area that resembled a guesthouse or inn.

A total of four rooms showed signs of recent occupation.

Three of the rooms were messy, with some indescribable things in the trash cans.

The remaining room looked relatively tidy, but it contained numerous half-finished Moon Gypsum Statues.

Considering the group consisted of three men and four women, these were likely their rooms.

This group of Moon Worshipers consisted of only seven people.

Lin Qi now had two paths before him.

One was to use his Ability from a distance to give them heart attacks or strokes, eliminating the Moon Worshipers directly.

The other was to find a way to capture them alive, which might yield new intelligence.

As Lin Qi was still contemplating and had yet to make a decision, the seven Moon Worshipers began to move.

"By my count, the new batch of Blood Moon Descent Objects should be ready. We can go harvest and deploy them."

"Sister Wei, what if the authorities find our setup? I heard on the radio that there are rescue teams in Modu."

"The authorities? If the authorities could save anyone, my family wouldn’t be dead! To hell with them!"

"When the Blood Moon descends, all will be made equal. What do the authorities matter then?"

From their conversation, Lin Qi could draw a few conclusions.

The Moon Worshipers’ mental state was clearly unstable, but their madness had its limits. At the very least, their speech was still logical.

The woman known as Sister Wei spoke up. "Go and harvest the Descent Objects. We are still far from having the eighty-one we need. The ritual to summon the Blood Moon requires our utmost effort."

"The Blood Moon whispers to me. Only by allowing it to descend in its true form can all living things find salvation."

"May the Blood Moon hang high, and all life turn toward it."

Hearing Sister Wei’s words, the others all stood up straight and gazed at the sky.

They chanted in unison, "May the Blood Moon hang high, and all life turn toward it."

Lin Qi figured it out then. This Sister Wei was the leader of the Moon Worshipers.

It was even likely that she was the one creating the Moon Gypsum Statues.

Lin Qi was very interested in man-made Extraordinary Items, even ones related to the crimson moon.

Lin Qi made his decision. He wouldn’t act yet. He would observe for a while; there was still plenty of time.

The Tier Three monster was a long way from reaching Tier Four; it was impossible for it to break through in the next two days.

He continued to hide in the shadows, observing quietly.

Except for Sister Wei, the other six Moon Worshipers descended from the building and went out onto the street.

Sister Wei, meanwhile, returned to her room and resumed polishing a gypsum statue.

Her movements were professional; perhaps she had been a talented art student before the doomsday.

Lin Qi turned his attention from Sister Wei to the six Moon Worshipers who had gone downstairs.

They walked straight down the street, apparently heading for the location where the Blood Moon Descent Objects were created.

Lin Qi guessed that the so-called Blood Moon Descent Objects were the Moon Gypsum Statues.

’Tail them, of course!’

As he tailed them, Lin Qi discovered that the Moon Worshipers seemed to be using some kind of Extraordinary Ability, causing the surrounding Spiritual Particles to form a special field.

They were enveloped within it.

The Zombies on the street acted as if they couldn’t see them, going about their business without the slightest inclination to attack.

’The Extraordinary Power of the Moon Worshipers... It seems quite practical.’

’Don’t tell me this Ability works on the Tier Three Monster too?’

Lin Qi mused silently as he continued to follow them stealthily.

Lin Qi didn’t have an Ability to hide from Zombies, so he had to take to the high ground, following from a distance with parkour-like movements.

In any case, with his Spiritual Vision covering a 400-meter radius, it was almost impossible for Lin Qi to lose them.

After about half an hour, the six Moon Worshipers reached their destination.

It was a park, but it had now become a production site for Blood Moon Descent Objects.

Lin Qi moved closer to get a better look.

Several man-made earthen hills had been hollowed out, creating massive pits over ten meters deep.

The pits were lined with wooden planks, shaping them into funnels.

Inside the funnels, corpses of Zombies were piled high.

At the bottom of each funnel sat a Moon Gypsum Statue.

A thought immediately flashed through Lin Qi’s mind.

This was a method for producing Extraordinary Materials that Lin Qi had learned at the company.

He hadn’t had a chance to test it since arriving in the Doomsday World, yet here it was.

And yet, the fact remained: beneath these massive funnel structures were the same kind of Moon Gypsum Statues Lin Qi had seen before.

These statues were faintly exhibiting the properties of Extraordinary Items, but they didn’t seem to be fully formed yet.

Even so, Lin Qi could tell that these were not properties that ordinary Extraordinary Materials should possess.

’Why is this happening? Could it be that the concentration of Spiritual Particles in the Doomsday World is so high that the funnel-style immersion method can be used to create Extraordinary Items?’

’No, that doesn’t make sense.’

Lin Qi continued to observe the Moon Worshipers’ movements.

The group arrived at the base of the earthen hills.

They had already constructed a plank-lined tunnel at the base, wide enough for one person to pass through.

Using this tunnel, they could easily reach the bottom of the funnels to retrieve the Moon Gypsum Statues.

There were six of them and six funnels. Each person took one, retrieving a total of six Moon Gypsum Statues.

"Let’s go. We need to get back quickly so Sister Wei can perform the final step before the Blood Moon properties fade."
