’A bonus?’

Lin Qi recalled the two M-level Potion research projects he had completed yesterday.

It seemed the ten M-level grunts, whom Lin Qi had requisitioned using his A-level Researcher authority to "humbly consult," had worked overtime last night to complete the subsequent biological organism tests for the Potions.

Once the research results passed the company’s preliminary verification, the company would issue the bonus.

’How much was it again?’

An M-Class achievement seemed to be worth a bonus of 20,000 Credit Points each, while an L-Class was worth 100,000.

For Lin Qi’s currently empty wallet, this would certainly alleviate his urgent financial needs.

At the very least, he would have some funds to purchase a second-hand Prosthetic Body disassembly reactor and ensure the normal operation of his Survivor Camp in the Doomsday World.

He followed Liu Weicai into the office.

Liu Weicai’s expression was a little complicated. "For the two M-level research projects, as the initiator, you’ll receive 60% of the total bonus—24,000 Credit Points. The company will cover the Greenfield City taxes, and the Credit Points will be deposited into your salary account before the end of work today."

’Sixty percent?’

Lin Qi had never been a project initiator before. He had always handled all his Prosthetic Body engineering projects by himself.

’Giving away forty percent is a fair reward for those M-level grunts, I suppose.’

"Alright," Lin Qi nodded, acknowledging he understood.

Liu Weicai continued his questioning. "I heard that yesterday was the first time you’ve ever read any basic books on Pharmacy?"

Lin Qi wasn’t flustered. Being a genius was his established persona.

In his research related to Prosthetic Bodies, it had only taken Lin Qi a single year to become an L-level Researcher.

"Yesterday, I had my assistant recommend a few books. I read five foundational texts, including *Basic Pharmacology of Rites*, *Extraordinary Material Fusion Foundation*, and *The Extraordinary Human Body*."

"After reading them, I concluded that the knowledge required for M-level Potions isn’t actually that complex. As long as you have a basic understanding of pharmacy and can confirm the effects of the base materials, all that’s left is experimentation by what amounts to a brute-force approach."

Lin Qi gave his brief assessment of M-level Potions but didn’t mention the Spiritual Particle adhesion effect he had discovered.

More advanced Pharmacy obviously couldn’t be this simple. Lin Qi had yet to learn about L-Class and higher levels of Pharmacy knowledge.

The look in Liu Weicai’s eyes grew more complex. He could tell that Lin Qi already possessed a fundamental understanding of basic Pharmacy.

The development of M-level Potions depended on the brute-force approach, the researcher’s knowledge of the materials and their intuition, and a certain amount of luck.

Completing two M-level projects in a single day couldn’t be explained by luck alone.

"Do you want to study High Level Pharmacy knowledge?" Liu Weicai asked.

Lin Qi responded, "This branch office doesn’t have a suitable environment for researching Prosthetic Body engineering. For now, I’m quite interested in Pharmacy."

Lin Qi wasn’t lying. After confirming that the environment in the Doomsday World could produce off-the-charts versions of Potions, his interest in Pharmacy knowledge had grown even stronger.

An off-the-charts M-level Potion could push one’s Physical Strength to the Tier One Limit.

So what about L-Class, A-Class, and even S-Class Potions—the kind that King Arthur himself had to steal and rob for?

Lin Qi wouldn’t mind at all becoming a Muscle Wizard whose Physical Strength was on par with an Extraordinary Professional Level.

The more trump cards Lin Qi had in the Cyber World, the more comfortably he could live.

Especially since his Wizard Profession had to remain a secret.

Liu Weicai’s expression shifted, and a hint of appreciation seemed to enter his eyes.

This wasn’t just a connected hire, but a talented one.

"When you get back, submit an application for an L-Class research project in the company system. I can assign two experienced L-level Researchers to act as your assistants."

Liu Weicai knew how to frame things.

He called them assistants, but they were effectively private tutors—a team of them, arranged using company resources.

Pharmacy was a discipline that was extremely dependent on experience.

After all, since it involved the Extraordinary, Pharmacy could no longer be called a rigorous scientific discipline.

"Thank you, Supervisor."

Lin Qi didn’t know why Liu Weicai was suddenly showing him such goodwill, but he wasn’t about to turn down an advantage.

"You can return to your lab now."

Having said what he wanted to say, Liu Weicai gestured for him to leave.

Lin Qi turned, and just as he was about to leave, he heard Liu Weicai add, "I hope that before you leave the Greenfield City branch, you can become a genuine A-level Researcher. That would be a good thing for the company."

So that was it. Lin Qi understood the source of the goodwill.

Liu Weicai’s surname was Liu, after all; everything he did had to be for the company’s benefit.

He had simply demonstrated sufficient value and earned the approval of Liu Weicai, the head of the company’s Pharmaceutical Department.

"Alright."

Lin Qi was in a good mood.

To achieve anything in the Cyber World, one had to rely on the major corporations.

Lin Qi had no intention of overthrowing the world order, nor did he currently have the Ability to do so.

Back in the lab, the ten M-level grunts from yesterday were already gone.

Once the project was completed, their clearance level was too low to enter Lin Qi’s lab.

He opened the company system and, just as Liu Weicai had said, applied for an L-Class Body Enhancement Potion research project.

An L-Class Body Enhancement Potion could enhance the human body to a Tier Two Middle Level, but the prerequisite for taking it was reaching the Tier One Limit in physical constitution.

Lin Qi had never seen an L-Class Potion, nor did he know how to prepare one yet.

According to the basic books Lin Qi had read so far, it seemed impossible to create something like an L-Class Potion, no matter how one combined the ingredients.

But the fact was, even S-Class Potions existed.

’Potions involve Spiritual Particles. The preparation of high-level Potions must involve Extraordinary Items. I’ll need to read the relevant literature for the specifics. Later, when the L-level grunts get to the lab, I can continue to "humbly consult" them.’

’But to be fair, my real specialty is just as an L-level Researcher in Prosthetic Body engineering. Making L-level Researchers from Pharmacy act as my grunts now... it feels pretty damn good to be a connected hire.’

After submitting the research application, Lin Qi waited in his lab.

He was eagerly looking forward to learning about L-Class Potions.

Time spent learning was always enjoyable, but it also passed very quickly.

It was almost quitting time, but Lin Qi remained in the lab, soaking up knowledge like a sponge.

As expected, L-Class Pharmacy was a world apart from M-Class. Just as Lin Qi had imagined, it involved Extraordinary Items.

However, the form in which the Extraordinary Items were used left Lin Qi utterly stunned.

The materials had no names, only simple serial numbers. It seemed that every major corporation produced its own specific Extraordinary Materials.

A single L-Class Potion might use materials produced by several different major corporations.

’Tomorrow, I’ll apply to research a few materials and see if I can replicate them in the Doomsday World. For now, it’s quitting time.’

Lin Qi still left work on time. As he left the lab and the elevator descended, he plotted his revenge against Si Ying.
