Hearing the murmurs, Lin Qi understood that United Pharmaceutical’s senior management had been drawn entirely from Liu’s Heavy Industries.

This was also the only way to establish a new corporation overnight.

Lin Qi sat in his chair, feeling rather curious about what Liu Xuan would announce.

’According to Liu Weicai, it’s supposedly a new internal corporate system?’

By this stage of Cyber Society’s development, internal corporate systems had become standardized; there was usually little difference between large corporations and new ones.

For the moment, Lin Qi couldn’t guess Liu Xuan’s intentions. He could only wait for her to arrive and start the meeting.

The executives attending the meeting arrived one after another. The room wasn’t completely full; in the hundred-person conference room, only a little over seventy seats were taken.

For an official corporation, a senior management team of this size was still somewhat lacking.

All eyes turned to the head of the table, the seat belonging to the Chairwoman of United Pharmaceutical.

Under everyone’s gaze, a woman with a light blue prosthetic left eye walked in through the main doors of the conference room.

Upon seeing her, many people showed expressions of surprise.

These were the managers who had been transferred from the Weapon Research Institute.

They knew Liu Xuan; she was a member of the Liu Clan and had worked as a researcher at the Weapon Research Institute for a full year.

Because Liu Xuan was so low-profile, and her work even more so, these executives had originally assumed her standing within the Liu Clan wasn’t very high.

But today, she had unexpectedly transformed into the Chairwoman of United Pharmaceutical.

This was by no means a position an ordinary Liu Clan member could hold.

The welcome came just as Liu Xuan took her seat.

A massive holographic projection of the United Pharmaceutical logo bloomed in the very center of the circular conference table.

Lin Qi was inwardly impressed. ’This setup looks expensive. I bet it costs no less than an A-Class Prosthetic Body.’

Everyone present was a seasoned company veteran. After their leader finished speaking, they immediately broke into orderly applause, even though they still had no idea what United Pharmaceutical’s main business was or what the future of the corporation held.

They only knew that, according to their contracts, they were now with United Pharmaceutical.

This was a new beginning, which naturally meant there was a new leader to curry favor with.

"Today’s meeting will proceed in three parts. First, an introduction to the company’s primary business and departmental roles. Second, our strategic positioning and future prospects. And finally, the most important topic: the joint equity mechanism."

Liu Xuan was brief and to the point, clearly wanting to avoid unnecessary talk.

Though her words were brief, they were extremely compelling. Everyone in the conference room was instantly captivated by the topics Liu Xuan had mentioned.

The first two were standard procedure, but that last one... a joint equity mechanism?

That name alone was enough to spark endless speculation.

Lin Qi wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he had a feeling that Liu Xuan had glanced at him when she mentioned the joint equity mechanism.

Not paying it too much mind, Lin Qi listened quietly to Liu Xuan’s presentation.

Unlike the others, Lin Qi was actually more interested in the first two items.

Lin Qi had never expected to gain much wealth from a corporation. His only pursuit at any company had always been the enhancement of his knowledge and Abilities.

This was perhaps the type of employee all Cyber Corporations loved most—someone with no real desire for a high salary.

But those were Lin Qi’s true thoughts.

Only by mastering enough knowledge and Abilities could Lin Qi gain more in the Doomsday World and generate sufficient feedback in the Cyber World.

Liu Xuan began her presentation. "First, the introduction to our primary business and departmental roles. As the name United Pharmaceutical implies, the company’s main business is deeply tied to Pharmacy. In addition to Potions, we will also deal in the design of pharmaceutical equipment and specialized, segmented Prosthetic Bodies."

"Therefore, the corresponding departments and functions are created: the Pharmaceutical Department, the Pharmaceutical Equipment Department, the Specialized Prosthetic Body Department, the Legal Department, the Marketing Department..."

As Liu Xuan spoke, and with the help of the holographic projections in the middle of the circular conference table, the executives, one by one, came to understand the responsibilities of their respective departments.

It was no different from the functional divisions in a traditional corporation.

It seemed that United Pharmaceutical was just a smaller-scale replica of Liu’s Heavy Industries, the only difference between the two being their business focus.

This model had been tested and proven countless times in Cyber Society; it was a template nearly every corporation copied.

Most of them were extremely familiar with this system and hardly needed to relearn it.

"Next, I will discuss our strategic positioning and future prospects."

The instant Liu Xuan spoke these words, two logos appeared in the center of the circular conference table, hovering silently.

United Pharmaceutical, Si Pharmaceutical.

Seeing these two logos appear together, the room instantly erupted in a low murmur.

"The company’s strategic positioning is very simple. United Pharmaceutical will be deeply integrated with Liu’s Heavy Industries, taking over most of the existing collaborations and resource channels between Liu’s Heavy Industries and Si Pharmaceutical. From the day of its birth, United Pharmaceutical’s benchmark is Si Pharmaceutical. Our goal is to eliminate Si Pharmaceutical within two months and usurp its position in the Asian Administrative Region."

As Liu Xuan spoke these words, the content of the holographic projection changed.

The United Pharmaceutical logo crashed into the one for Si Pharmaceutical, shattering it to pieces.
