Dual Worlds: I Have a Doomsday World

Lin Qi glanced at the master’s student, giving him an appreciative look.

Lin Qi didn’t see himself as a leader. To get the survivors to work for him, he had only two advantages.

His mastery of Extraordinary Power and his technological superiority.

Both were key to survival in the Doomsday World, and mastering them meant having a firm hold over all the other survivors.

Lin Qi spoke up. "That’s right. We need weapons. We need power!"

"Since the doomsday outbreak, I’m sure those who listened to the first official broadcast have discovered that consuming Crimson Crystal Stones can strengthen our bodies."

"Beyond that, after being exposed to the Red Moon, a very small number of people have gained even more special powers, which I call Extraordinary Power."

Lin Qi looked at Xia Chu, who understood immediately.

A half-drunk bottle of mineral water, left behind by a survivor, was manipulated by Xia Chu. It froze solid and levitated beside her.

Most of the survivors looked shocked, while a few seemed to have a moment of realization.

Among the three hundred-plus survivors, a small number of Lucky Ones had become Extraordinaries, each with a different Extraordinary Ability.

Lin Qi continued, "Fortunately, I’m one of that small number. But unfortunately, my Extraordinary Power is very weak—it only enhanced my intelligence. That’s how I was able to design and build the Exoskeleton and Mecha."

Lin Qi had found an excuse for the source of his technology.

It was a crude one, but in this environment, it was enough to be convincing.

A certain clever master’s student in automotive engineering immediately spoke up. "You’re being too humble, boss! Intelligence is the most badass thing there is. Humanity’s greatest strength is its intelligence."

Lin Qi looked at the master’s student again. ’This guy has potential,’ he thought.

The master’s student caught his meaning. "Please teach us, boss!"

With this guy’s help, Lin Qi’s speech became much easier to deliver.

"I hope that we, the survivors of Mo University, can unite. I will also share some of the Exoskeleton designs."

"The experimental workshop on the sixth floor has already been modified, and there are large stockpiles of metal in the School of Materials Science’s warehouse."

"All survivors from STEM fields, please follow me to the experimental workshop."

At a time like this, Lin Qi didn’t need to say much more.

The survivors from Mo University already possessed a strong will to live, and this first rescued batch, in particular, had top-tier initiative.

With just a single call to action, over two hundred survivors stood up.

Judging by the ratio, it seemed the survival rate for STEM students was much higher than for those in the humanities.

Then again, perhaps Mo University just had more STEM students than humanities students to begin with.

Lin Qi looked in the master’s student’s direction. "Hey, come with me for a moment."

While calling the master’s student over, Lin Qi also instructed Xia Chu to arrange the living quarters for the rest of the survivors.

Lin Qi couldn’t possibly teach over two hundred survivors one-on-one.

Lin Qi was going to be very busy tonight. He had to deal with the survivors and also use his Wizard abilities to analyze the Extraordinary Items.

His other self in the Cyber World was facing even bigger trouble. Lin Qi knew how to prioritize.

The master’s student hurried over to Lin Qi’s side.

"Hello, my name is Lin Qi." Lin Qi extended his hand.

Having lived two lives, Lin Qi wasn’t averse to shaking hands. He had only refused Si Ying earlier because he simply disliked the man.

The master’s student was emotional. "Hello, boss! My name is Wang Ziru."

Hearing this name, Lin Qi paused for a moment, then smiled.

’Good name!’

’It sounds like the name of a capable person.’

"Brother Wang, to be honest, while I have some technical knowledge, I’m not good at management."

"We have over three hundred survivors gathered now, which is a sizable settlement. Judging by the way you speak, Brother Wang, you not only have the technical skills of a master’s student but also seem to have great potential in management."

Upon hearing this, Wang Ziru immediately looked touched. "Thank you for your trust, boss. To be frank, I’m not a full-time student. I’ve worked in senior management at a top-tier auto company, Gemi Group, for a long time. If you trust me, boss, I will do everything in my power to help."

Lin Qi naturally chose to trust him. In a doomsday setting, all authority comes from power.

As long as he possessed power, Lin Qi didn’t have to worry too much.

Besides, Lin Qi’s goal was never to become a king and rule over others. He just needed enough people to help him find traces of Extraordinary Items.

He handed a laptop to Wang Ziru. "This contains two simplified designs for electric-powered Exoskeletons that I created. With the equipment and materials in the workshop, we can produce over a hundred of them. There are also designs for an electromagnetic pistol in a folder on the bottom right of the desktop."

"The designs are simple. You just need to follow the steps for production and assembly."

"I’m leaving this task to you. Produce enough equipment as quickly as possible. The Zombies are changing much faster than we thought, and we need to acquire more resources to produce more powerful weapons."

"My plan is to turn Mo University into a doomsday fortress and wait for rescue teams to make contact with us."

Wang Ziru’s eyes lit up. "Boss, three hundred people actually isn’t enough manpower. Once we’ve built the equipment, we’ll need to rescue more people from the outer areas..."

Lin Qi cut him off. "You can handle the arrangements."

Time was tight. The sky had already darkened, and there were only six hours left on the [Door]’s cooldown.

In the Cyber World, Lin Qi could choose not to activate the [Door], but in the Doomsday World, it would immediately send him back to the Cyber World as soon as the cooldown finished.

Before returning to the Cyber World, Lin Qi needed to analyze and absorb a Crystal Stone to enhance his Wizard power.

There were too many dangers in Greenfield City; the power of a Tier One Wizard was far from enough for self-preservation.

After parting with Wang Ziru, Lin Qi instructed Xia Chu, "Stay by Wang Ziru’s side and keep an eye on things. I need to think about some new designs."

Xia Chu nodded in agreement. The entire camp’s operation depended completely on Lin Qi’s advanced designs; they were the foundation of their survival.

Entering an empty room, Lin Qi sat down in a chair.

Three Crystal Stones were laid out before him.

’Which one should I analyze?’

’The Extraordinary Ability a Wizard obtains from analysis is related to the Extraordinary Item itself. While it won’t be exactly the same, the general direction will be consistent.’

’Speed, strength, and Spiritual Power... It seems the power ceiling for Spiritual-type abilities is higher, but there’s no rush right now. I can save the fourth ability slot for a Tier One Wizard for something spiritual.’

’What I need now is a survival ability.’

’Speed. That’s the absolute necessity. I have an entire Doomsday World to gather resources from. Only by staying alive can I obtain greater power in the future.’

His thoughts settled, Lin Qi chose the pink Crystal Stone.

In his Spiritual Vision, the Wizard’s eerie, tentacle-like Spiritual Power made contact with the pink Crystal Stone.

The Spiritual Power slowly seeped into it.

Analysis.

This was an innate, unique Talent that came with being a Wizard, an Ability that even Wizards themselves could not comprehend.

After an unknown amount of time, the pink Crystal Stone silently vanished, and a brand-new power was mastered by Lin Qi.

’I thought it would be speed, but this Ability... it seems a bit over-the-top. Is this thing really Tier One?’
