Dual Worlds: I Have a Doomsday World

The Mecha’s cockpit opened.

Inside, Lin Qi and Wei Yue were a bit dizzy.

Wei Yue, in particular, felt as if she’d been tossed into a centrifuge and spun around violently.

Lin Qi left the cockpit and entered the stairwell, his muscles feeling weak and unresponsive.

Luckily, Lin Qi also had the Ability "Spiritual Power Materialization."

His materialized Spiritual Power formed tentacles that supported his body.

He used the tentacles to move, their supportive force pressing back against his skin.

It made Lin Qi look as if he were floating in mid-air.

Arriving on the floor where the Tier Three Aggregated Monster had been, he found the room was filled with the thick stench of blood.

The flesh ball and tentacles were nowhere to be seen.

All that remained in the room was a massive pile of pulped flesh and a great number of bones.

The skeletons were not in the shape of any single creature and retained features of many different animal bones.

The Aggregated Monster had been a mutated amalgamation of creatures like birds, cats, and dogs.

The process of evolving into a Tier Three Monster was also a process of complete fusion.

The Tier Three Crystal Stone was hidden somewhere within the sea of pulped flesh.

Fortunately, Lin Qi had Spiritual Vision, allowing him to locate it clearly. Otherwise, just finding the Crystal Stone would have been a chore.

He used his materialized Spiritual Tentacles to retrieve the Crystal Stone.

Lin Qi immediately exited the blood-soaked floor and returned to the Mecha.

He piloted the Mecha back the way he came, climbing down the building’s exterior floor by floor as if descending a ladder, until he reached the ground.

This M-Class Mecha wasn’t equipped with thrusters or anything similar; otherwise, a simple leap would have sufficed.

Back on the ground, the four Warriors in camouflage uniforms were still unconscious.

Lin Qi once again used his Blood Manipulation Ability, slightly accelerating their blood flow.

Their faces flushed slightly, but their brains received a quick supply of oxygen, and the four of them slowly regained consciousness.

The first thing Wu Peihe did upon waking was to continue trying to manually detonate the nuke, his eyes bloodshot.

Lin Qi’s voice came from outside the vehicle. "The monster has been dealt with. I’ve taken the Tier Three Crystal Stone."

Hearing the voice, Wu Peihe thought it must be an illusion and didn’t slow his hands in the slightest.

’It must be an illusion! Damn it! How could a Tier Three Monster possess human-like intelligence? It must be close to Tier Four!’

Only a Tier Four Monster would possess a certain degree of intelligence.

This time, Lin Qi didn’t have to do anything. The Warriors beside Wu Peihe stopped him from proceeding.

"Coach Wu! Calm down! Calm down! The monster’s been taken care of!"

Wu Peihe was still struggling. "Let me go! Let me go! This monster’s abilities are mentally-oriented! This has to be an illusion! The monster is about to reach Tier Four! There’s no time! Any more delay and it’ll be too late!"

The concept of "fearing death" simply didn’t exist in Wu Peihe’s mind; only the pursuit of a "heroic sacrifice" remained.

The Warriors around him didn’t share Wu Peihe’s visceral panic regarding Tier Four Monsters.

They could see it clearly: Lin Qi’s Mecha was parked just a short distance in front of their vehicle.

Furthermore, the distinct climbing marks on the building’s facade proved that the Mecha had reached the top floor and returned to the ground safely.

"Coach Wu! Calm down! This isn’t an illusion!"

One of the Warriors, getting agitated, slapped Wu Peihe across the face.

Wu Peihe’s eyes shot wide open.

It hurt.

’So it really isn’t an illusion?’

Wu Peihe panted heavily and looked out the vehicle’s window.

He saw Lin Qi’s Mecha already preparing to move past their vehicle and leave.

His hands stopped.

Wu Peihe had no idea that the Warriors around him had just saved him from a terrible fate.

If Wu Peihe had persisted in his brutish attempt to detonate the nuke, Lin Qi would have undoubtedly made him experience cerebral ischemia again and simply taken the nuke while he was unconscious.

’Separate the man from the bomb, ensure it’s secure. Then I could wait for Ding Yang to come to the Mo University Camp to retrieve it himself, or I could just dismantle the nuke and use the materials to build a reactor for Mo University.’

Thinking this, Lin Qi began to get ideas about the nuke.

’Maybe I should talk to Ding Yang later and arrange to keep this nuke? According to the original plan, it was going to be used anyway. What counts as being "used," and who gets to decide? Letting the Mo University Camp use it for power generation would be its best possible fate.’

He made up his mind, but Lin Qi wasn’t about to reveal his intentions in front of Wu Peihe.

Lin Qi said to the four Warriors, "The monster is upstairs. I don’t remember the exact floor, but it should be the third one from the top. The stench is overwhelming. You can go see for yourselves if you don’t believe me."

"Oh, right. There are still some Zombies in the building. Not many, but be careful if you go to check."

Letting Wu Peihe witness the power of the S-Class Ultrahigh-Frequency Acoustic Resonator was part of Lin Qi’s original plan.

Although the awakening of the Tier Three Monster had interrupted his plan, preventing Wu Peihe from seeing the S-Class Ultrahigh-Frequency Acoustic Resonator in action, letting him view the gruesome state of the monster’s corpse would achieve a similar effect.
