RAMON’S POV
After my encounter at the maids’ room where Sonia had been kept, coupled with how the day went, and also Alpha Daisy shaming me real good, I spent the entire night investigating.
The anger from earlier still burned low in my chest, refusing to die down. Sleep felt impossible, so I stayed awake, pacing the floor of my private study. The wooden boards creaked under my weight with every step, and the faint scent of old books and ink filled the air around me.
I drew out a map from my head. I had one before, but it was yet to be updated. Since the last one, we had added even more buildings and landmarks to the pack.
My fingers moved across the large sheet of paper on the table, sketching lines and marking new areas with a sharpened charcoal stick. The rough texture of the paper scratched lightly under my hand as I worked.
I had set to work, and an hour later, I had my map. The lines were clear and precise, every path, every building, every weak point noted. All possibilities were considered.
Today, I planned on going round and looking for break-ins. If Lorena was right, then someone must have fed Silverpaws information. The thought made my jaw clench tight. We would be compromised if that was the case.
Sonia was the biggest suspect, of course. It made no sense that a day after her brothers saw her in the pack, an attack was successfully launched in the pack.
The timing felt too perfect, too convenient. My mind kept circling back to her face, her voice, the way she had looked at me earlier. It made my blood heat in ways I didn’t want to admit.
I think the biggest shocker for me was the fact they had gotten in. Ever since the attack of Fenris that wiped out the pack the first time, I had vowed that when I took over, nothing of such would ever repeat itself.
That I had successfully done until two days ago. Everything had changed. I knew to tighten security, and that was why I had ordered that every pack security officer meet me at the training ground. The memory of the fire still lingered in my nose—thick smoke and burning wood.
As I washed my hair in the shower, my thoughts went to Sonia, Liam, and Blane’s betrayal. Hot water cascaded down my back, steaming against my skin, but it did nothing to wash away the frustration. There was a reason she was the common factor in all of this dynamic.
With her cloak of innocence, she had successfully convinced the wolves I trusted that she was to be trusted. She had manipulated them, and like fools, they all fell for her. The image of her in Liam’s arms kept flashing in my mind, making my fists tighten under the water.
I was going to correct the wrong she had done, but they would also remain punished. Liam I was the most disappointed in. We were like brothers, yet he allowed a woman to come between us. I didn’t think I could forgive him in a while. The sting of that betrayal sat heavy in my chest.
Blane—Blane I couldn’t punish last night, but that wasn’t going to be the end of the case. He would get his day. The thought of confronting him later made my muscles tense under the hot spray. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
I rinsed off and stepped out of the shower. Water dripped from my hair onto my shoulders as I tied a towel around my waist. I walked into my room to find Lorena in a see-through robe. The thin fabric clung to her curves, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. Her legs were spread apart, and a finger was between her thighs, moving slowly.
She was the figure of seduction, but all my mind could see was Sonia. The day of the attack, I had taken her hard buds into my mouth. I had sucked in the nectar the tasty bud produced. Made her come with just my mouth. Her innocent screams of ecstasy still rang in my ears. The way she had held on to me like her life belonged to me. In that moment, it could as well be.
Thinking about her made me uncontrollably horny. And it was because of her I didn’t say another word. It was because of the image of her I saw in my head, I walked over to Lorena, palmed her stomach, and pushed her to the wall. The wood felt cool against my palm as I pressed her back.
I wrapped one of her legs around my waist, and with my other hand, undid my towel. As it dropped to the ground, I drove into her. She rolled her head back, and a loud moan escaped her lips, echoing in the room. Her body was warm and wet, but my mind replaced every sensation with Sonia.
As I pounded into her, I wondered what Sonia would look like in the same position. Only that with her, I imagined doing it on a bed. I had never bedded another woman on a bed. Not even when Alpha Daisy and I were fooling around. Her cries of passion would fill my ears, and I would be compelled to drive into her some more.
Just like now, but instead of Lorena, all I could see was Sonia. Sonia hissing in ecstasy. Sonia begging for more. Sonia calling my name. Sonia pleading for me to take her to a realm no man had ever, and would ever do. Sonia asking me to shoot my seeds into her when she feels me stiffen.
Just like now. I stiffened, and immediately withdrew. I couldn’t afford to bury my seeds in Lorena, so I sprayed it all over her stomach instead. The release was sharp and intense, but it left me feeling empty.
Removing her legs from my waist, I turned around, and without saying another word, went into my bathroom. The cold water from the sink helped clear my head a little as I splashed my face.
When I came out again, she was gone, but she had left an apple she had bitten into behind. The fruit sat on the table, one perfect bite mark showing her teeth. For a second there, I felt a nostalgic wave hit me. She used to do that when I first met her. Pick apples, I mean. The memory was soft and almost sweet, but I pushed it away quickly.
I shook my head to ward off those sappy thoughts. Lorena had long gone from the innocent woman she projected, to the sex-crazed demon I knew now. The change had happened gradually, but it was complete.
Throwing on some easy wear because I was headed for the training ground to meet up with the pack’s security team, and a skill or two would likely be demonstrated, I walked out of the room. The clothes felt comfortable against my skin, a simple dark shirt and pants that allowed movement.
As I got to the path that would lead out of the quarters, I stumbled on Blane and Daniel coming from the other end of the building. Their footsteps slowed when they saw me.
They immediately stopped and bowed when they saw me. Their heads lowered respectfully, but I could feel the tension in their shoulders.
"I don’t want to get to the training ground before you two."
I continued on my way, already sensing the perfect avenue to punish Blane. The morning air was cool against my face as I walked, carrying the faint scent of dew on the grass.
Fortunately for them, by the time I arrived at the training ground, they were already there. The open field smelled of fresh earth and sweat from previous sessions. The wolves bowed in unison, and I urged them to lift their heads in response. Their eyes were cautious, watching me closely.
"I’m not going to yap, but just go straight to the point," I began. "We have been attacked, and today, I’m going to get an answer. But first, I have questions."
I looked around, grateful they at least had the decency to avert their gazes. They should all be ashamed of themselves, especially Daniel. The silence stretched for a moment, thick with unease.
"Come here!"
He knew I was calling to him, and quickly ran to me. His footsteps were fast on the dirt ground.
"Alpha." He bowed low.
I kicked his cheeks, and he dropped to his knees in front of me. The impact made a dull thud. "Two more, and you’re dead. But I’ve trusted you for a while, and I plan on giving you the benefit of doubt this time around. Prove to me I can?"
"I will, starting from now," he said confidently. His voice didn’t waver, even on his knees.
My brow lifted, a little taken aback by his words. "You know something?"
"I do," Daniel replied confidently. His eyes met mine for a brief second before lowering again.
I smiled, knowing it was just a matter of time before I found the bastards. The promise of answers felt like a small victory in the chaos of the past days.
