Knotting His Rejected Breeder

SONIA’S POV

The impulse left me, and my senses returned.

He was going to push me away. He was going to embarrass me in front of everyone, and it would be my fault.

But to my surprise, he drew me closer, and took control of the kiss.

I froze for a few seconds, my brain going numb.

When I felt him press harder against my lips, my energy returned.

He pulled away just then, and to my surprise, didn’t push me to the ground.

"I know you all have something against Sonia," he turned to his wolves, as if he hadn’t just kissed my brain away. "I do too, after all, she’s my prisoner. But she’s a healer, and if we set our bias aside, those who she healed at the packs clinic would confirm. Ruby?" he called the girl that pushed me away.

She stepped forward, and bowed. "Yes, alpha."

"If she says there’s something wrong with you, then I believe her."

My wolf leaped in excitement, just as my heart somersaulted in shock.

He was defending me in front of everyone? Did I wake up in an alternate universe where Ramon could actually stand me?

"I promise you though, it won’t affect the trial. Either today, tomorrow, or next week, whatever day the moon goddess deems fit, we would hold the trial. All you need to do is allow her to examine you. Do you think you can do that? Does everyone consider this judgment a fair one?"

The Ruby girl nodded, and the wolves replied positively in their numbers.

"Then it is settled."

He turned, and without so much as a glance back to see if I was fine, walked out of the room.

A hand pulled me from behind, just as I was about to walk up to Ruby.

Before I knew what was happening, or I could even say a word of protest, I found myself in a room.

That same hand turned me around, and I saw Ivy staring at me.

"But Ruby?" I whined.

"You’ll heal her later. I had to take you out of there. Lorena was already fuming. Moon goddess knows what she would have done if I hadn’t," she explained.

It did make sense, I just felt a little off. "I still need to heal her, and it’s urgent. If I don’t, I will never rest."

"That’s heroic of you, but I think there are more pressing matters," I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned, and saw Carl come into the room. Behind him was a woman, and a man who looked very familiar.

"Adelaide? You’re back!" Ivy ran to the woman, and gave her a hug.

"My beautiful girl. My darling," the woman said, hugging her tightly.

At first glance, I couldn’t see it. But on closer inspection, I saw that the woman bore a striking resemblance to Carl.

"That’s her?" She looked my way, when they separated.

"Yes, Ade. That’s Sonia."

The woman with the piercing hazel eyes, walked up to me, with an outstretched hand.

"It’s an honor to finally meet you," she said.

I looked to Ivy, and then to Carl for an explanation on what was going on.

Other than a weird smile on their faces, there was nothing else that answered my question.

In order not to seem disrespectful, I accepted her handshake.

The second our hands touched, I felt a sense of familiarity glow through me.

My wolf recognized hers, and it almost seemed like we were kindred spirits.

"She’s really a healer," she turned her head to address Carl. "Just like us."

"I told you. She’s even stronger than any other healer I’ve ever encountered."

She pulled her hand away, and dragged me into a hug, instead.

"Your scent, it’s fascinating. It’s not just your wolf, but something special too. Sonia, you’re special," she whispered into my ears.

"I am?" I asked, confused as to what exactly was going on.

She pulled out of the hug, without answering my question.

Walking to Carl, she grabbed a hold of his shoulders.

"Now we can retire as pack doctors. There’s a better replacement. The pack is in good hands."

"Sister, don’t say that. She still needs guidance. A lot of it. Right now, she’s more concerned with healing any and everyone. She has no iota of self preservation. Secondly, we don’t know how long she’ll last in the pack."

"A very long time," the other man that had accompanied the woman who I now know as Adelaide in, said.

"Sorry, do I know you? You seem so familiar," I couldn’t hold my tongue from asking.

"I guess I do look alive," he smiled. "Isiah," he said, and stretched out a hand.

I shook it, and it had a firm grip to it. I could tell he was a warrior in his day.

"Sonia," I replied.

"I know. I’m glad you’re in the pack now. Bloodmoon has needed you for a while."

"But I don’t understand." I turned my head around in search of an explanation.

"Of course you don’t, darling. But your destiny is in this pack. It’s here in bloodmoon. Both you, and Ramon. You have to rule together, for a very long time," Isiah said.

"Who are you?" I asked again.

"The man you saved from death."

My eyes snapped in recognition. It was because of him, Carl asked me to leave the clinic.

That didn’t matter though. I was just glad to see her alive.

"I knew I had to heal you, but I don’t know why."

"Because I needed to tell you that no matter where you go, your heart will always return to Ramon. Your destinies are intertwined."

I laughed. I threw my head back, and burst into the heartiest laughter of my entire life.

"What’s so funny?" Adelaide asked in the middle of my laughter.

I just couldn’t stop laughing long enough to respond to her.

But in my mind, I did think of a response. It was along the lines of questioning the decisions of the moon goddess.

Still laughing, I turned around, and walked far away from my destiny.
